  1. Why is that Morrison's talent? His line in MLB is .260/.351/.458 with very poor defense in the OF. He looks to be an average to slightly above average 1B, a guy who has value until he gets expensive. Now he can gain power as he ages and as he moves out of Florida but then you have to add in his other issues. The Marlins aren't going to give him away but in no way is he worth a top flight talent at this point.
  2. No Roenicke likes to play it by meaningless numbers, like home/road splits over less than a season.
  3. He compared Hairston to Counsell. You think Counsell has a shot at starting a game?
  4. And I'd go with your best pitcher in case you need him for game 5 and that's Greinke and it really isn't that close.
  5. He's expecting a 3 year, 30-36m deal. I don't see how he takes arby. Especailly since he will still be behind Axford and won't get the save numbers.
  6. There is a huge incentive for certain actors to falsify this stuff. Independent scouts get bonuses when they get players. Teams only want players below a certain age. Hence false identities are created.
  7. Whitlock is basically complaining because he can no longer write down any garbage and turn it in. Now he has to have evidence, which makes his job harder.
  8. The Brewers are 10-9 in September. Now that isn't great but not sure why people think they are like 4-15. The Cardinals have gone 14-5. That's why the lead has shrunk.
  9. The situations are entirely different. No one would have cared that Wolf was taken out in a meaningless game at the end of teh regular season.
  10. Maybe should have taken Wolf out after he got hit in the arm?
  11. Well Blockbuster isn't really Blockbuster anymore. Dish has taken over and will be rolling out a new streaming service in October. Given that Dish will have more muscle to bring to bear than the slimmed down Netflix they might also be able to get better content quicker. Netflix right now has whatever they are getting from the Epix deal and Starz until February and that's about it.
  12. Just a bit of evidence: http://www.slashfilm.com/...ntrast-in-movie-posters/
  13. Its pure graphic design dogma. Blue and Orange are highly contrasting colors and show up everywhere (check out movie posters for example). My guess is there were also sold on this "representing a sunset over the ocean". The gray outline with the white M looks terrible. The two different fonts makes it look like a mess. The marlin looks to just be thrown on there because they forgot about it at first. Put the marlin on top of the M or through the middle of it and maybe you'd have something better.
  14. Ramon Ortiz is still in the league? How? Seriously, the guy had 2 seasons in 2001 and 2002 where he was decent. He hasn't had an ERA below 5 since 2004.
  15. Narveson's tERA is 4.37. Wolf's is 4.85. Now Wolf doesn't fall apart at 85 pitches like Narveson but Wolf has been lucky to have his ERA in the 3s.
  16. OK there a different things here. Is Wolf better than Suppan? Loads better, Suppan was a below average pitcher who got lucky for a few years and regressed to being replacement level. Wolf has been an above average pitcher who has regressed to likely being an average pitcher. Wolf's FIP this year is 4.31, his tERA is 4.85. Basically he isn't in the same class as the other pitchers. Truth is no one is really in Greinke's class. The Brewers starers FIP: Greinke 2.82 Gallardo 3.71 Marcum 3.68 Narveson 3.89 Wolf 4.31
  17. So basically all that is left to be determined is if Greinke can get to 10Ks today?
  18. They only have like a 12 man pen. Volquez has to be run into the ground!
  19. Gamel being late to practice twice 4 years ago means he isn't a serious player. Morrison storming out of the meeting about his demotion in August won't be an issue?
  20. I fully applaud Fielder's leadership skills here. Instead of people focusing on the poor recent play of the Brewers all attention has gone to something that was obvious since April 1st.
  21. Why is there no reason? The fact that a typical platoon would almost certainly be better is reason enough alone even if both of them on average are the same bad hitter.
  22. In what way is Fielder streaky? That he doesn't hit 1.5 home runs every week?
  23. There is absolutely no reason to believe that McGehee's power spike in August means anything. There are tons of reasons to think Green is better going forward.
