  1. For those who like using the Quick Reply editor, but don't like the hand formatting involved, I've been sent bookmarklet code that will allow you to replace it with the WYSIWYG editor. This trick should work in all browsers that load the WYSIWYG editor. These would include the Mozilla browsers (including Firefox, SeaMonkey, Camino, Flock, K-Meleon, etc.), the IEs (8, 7, and newer versions of 6), and Opera. I haven't personally tested any IEs or K-Meleon. Here's the code: If you want to test it, go to any thread page. Scroll down to the Quick Reply editor so you can see the change in action. Paste the code into your location (address) bar, and hit enter (return). If you like it, you'll want to put it in your bookmarks. Create a new bookmark and paste the code into the location (address) field. As you'll need to load this bookmarklet every time you'll want to replace Quick Reply with the WYSIWYG editor, you might want to place place it in your toolbar. I have some alternate code for Safari/Chrome that still needs some testing. When I'm sure it checks out, I'll post it in the Safari/Chrome WYSIWYG Editor thread.
  2. MLB's Draft Tracker lists Josh Prince's height as 6'0". Tulane's Prince page lists it at 6'3". Is there a tiebreaker out there?
  3. You'll probably find some useful information in the players lot thread.
  4. correct me if I'm wrong, but these player suspensions are with pay? I can't see professional sports players having to do the same thing as regular people that get suspended at work (i.e. no pay). I believe suspensions are unpaid. But it's not unheard of for a team to choose to pay its player anyway if it believes the commissioner's office was wrong and the player was right.
  5. This is simply an example, but Paul Molitor stayed a lot healthier once he stopped playing 3B. I don't think we could prove a cause and effect relationship, but I don't think it's totally coincidental either.
  6. If you really feel the need to rehash the Julio appearance, there's a lot of discussion in this thread. Let's keep this thread on topic (How good is the Brewers bullpen?). Macha is certainly part of it.
  7. That's a good point, Ennder. I actually answered the question, "what would happen if we replaced our 3B production with 173 ABs of Branyan?" That's fine, but it doesn't reflect "real life."
  8. This method works much better for large samples and 1 win per 10 runs is a rounded off number, but here goes... Branyan: .420 OBP x .607 SLG x 173 AB = 44.10462 runs Brewer 3B: .326 OBP x .405 SLG x 205 AB = 27.06615 runs 44.10462 - 27.06615 = 17 runs or 1.7 wins Give this some breathing room for the small sample and for more precise calculation being better, and you should have somewhat of an idea.
  9. Just a quick note to mention that this topic has been added to the Designated Threads List.
  10. I wasn't sure to start a thread on this or not, but it seems pretty relevant so I figured to stick it here... Use your discretion. If you think an injury to a particular player or an injury-related topic will generate a fair amount of discussion, feel free to start a new topic. If it doesn't produce a significant number of replies, mods can always merge it into this one. I've added this thread to the Designated Threads List with a similar explanation. By the way, you're doing a great job with this thread, TooLive.
  11. I know this is early but I was wondering who were some of the NL ROY the year candidates? It's not too early at all. It's fun to follow the changes in player performances and member opinions as the season progresses. For this reason, I've added this topic to the Designated Threads List.
  12. This is a shot in the dark, but I think Billy may have benefited from working with Butch Wyengar. That's totally impossible to prove, of course, and it certainly doesn't mean that Butch was a superior coach. I just think that something between the two of them clicked.
  13. To be fair, this thread is about one player who we all hate. I don't think so. I think he's a good guy with a likable personality. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Outside of that, it's been pointed out that he provides average defense. I think it'd be better than average if it weren't for his patented airheaded lapses. He still hits lefties, and he has use as a defensive replacement for Gamel. He's not producing at the level of his contract, but it's not like he's useless. As was pointed out above, (using Fatter than Joey's words), "Hall could refuse his (minor league) assignment and tell the Brewers to pound sand." There'd be no monetary consequence if he refused.
  14. And I hope the Brewers actually send Hall to AAA. He's out of options, but given his high salary, nobody would claim him and he'd be foolish to declare free agency. According to Brewerfan's 40-man roster page, Hall does have an option. To be optioned, he'd have to clear waivers because more than three calendar years have passed since his first Major League appearance. That's no biggie; those waivers are revocable and teams tend to allow a player through. Because he has more than 5 years of Major League service time, he can refuse to be optioned with no consequence.
  15. Since this is a proposal, this thread is now in the Transactions Rumors/Proposals Forum: Dear Mr. Attanasio .. my Tom Glavine pledge to you...
  16. I think the scorer's decision could have gone either way, but I agree that most third basemen would have made that play. I'm glad Mat made the decision not to throw. Some guys would have tried to make up for the initial mistake and ending up making things worse than they needed to be.
  17. According to Brian Anderson, Mark doesn't think his elbow situation is too serious and that he shouldn't be unable to throw for too long. There doesn't appear to be an injury in a serious area. Also, Mark will be leaving the team for his grandmother's funeral. He'll likely return Sunday. During that time, he should be able to be replaced via bereavement leave.
  18. Yeah, I mentioned that in reply #2 (which includes a link). When you look at the chart, you see that Wolfley kind of missed the point. pitchleague's example of the Nationals' 55% increase (reply #8) illustrates that.
  19. Jody Gerut jut stole second base and third base in the second inning, leading to a run on a sac fly. The Brewers had gone 16 consecutive games without a stolen base. That's the fourth longest drought in franchise history, with the record being 20 consecutive games. BTW, triw7 isn't kidding about Kendall. His niece hit him with a bat.
  20. Hi, Could you please take a moment to provide a little more information? The reason the membership application asks for a fairly comprehensive and inclusive message is that we strive for intelligent, quality posting. We've found that applicants' messages have been helpful to us in working toward that goal. With more information from you, we'd be glad to consider membership. You may reply either via the application page or directly from this message. Thanks for your interest.
  21. According to Brian Anderson, we're looking at a 6:30 PM CDT start. FS-Wisconsin is going back to the studio in the meantime.
  22. Yeah. Maybe we could try to insist that TH stick to one topic per blog entry. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  23. Cam's knee situation sounds relatively minor in the scheme of things. Read from this point in last night's IGT.
  24. It seems that I recall ratings of 2-point-something or 3-point-something. That'd be in line with 30,000 households.
