  1. I also read the other day that the Pirates have the best interleague record this year. Sure it came against the mediocre AL Central but the Brewers had their struggles against teams like the White Sox.
  2. I guess I don't pay attention to the American League much but had no idea Tony La Russa was part of the Red Sox front office until seeing him celebrate the Red Sox division. Cross the Red Sox off the list of teams I will be rooting for in the playoffs.
  3. Based on reading the information though it appears all lottery tickets will be digital and can't see them until day of game. Therefore, the only people selling assigned tickets prior to day of game will be season ticket holders that bought playoff strips.
  4. Braun stunk most of September 2008 but had a grand slam walk off in the last home stand and the 8th inning home run against the Cubs in game 162. Braun was great in September 2011, as well as pretty much the whole year. He hit the game winning three run home run in the bottom of the 8th against the Marlins that clinched the division with a few games to play.
  5. It would be so disappointing not getting a home playoff game, those three upcoming games against the Cardinals loom large. They need to take care of business against the Reds and Pirates before hand though.
  6. Five straight right handed pitchers (2 against the Reds) and not a single start is further indication that he won't likely by on the NLDS roster if they make it that far. Still think he would be on the Wild Card roster.
  7. I actually think the Diamondbacks have a real good chance at winning the series against the Cubs. They are desperate now and should be highly motivated to win with the Dodgers and Rockies series after this. It is nice that the Dodgers and Rockies are playing each other as it lessens the chances that the Cardinals/Dodgers/Rockies can all catch the Brewers.
  8. In looking at the excellent numbers that Jeffress has put up this year I noticed he is at 249 career games with the Brewers. One more and he automatically qualifies for the Brewers Wall of Honor. Something to look for when he hopefully closes out the game tonight.
  9. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Brewers lose two to the Reds. One 1-2 series, and you're ready to throw in the towel? This team was the hottest in baseball before this weekend. In reality it isn't exactly a hot take. In baseball I am not surprised to see any team lose 2 of 3 to any other team.
  10. The list is short for players that have faced Archer more or had greater success than Schoop and Cain. Would be shocked if either gets the day off today.
  11. Retirement was never mentioned in the press conference so I am pretty positive he will get his money. Just depends how much insurance pays.
  12. I wonder if this will be a Prince Fielder type situation where the Mets will have to keep him on the 40 man roster in 2019/2020 still even though he won't play again in order to collect insurance.
  13. I believe the Brewers have an eight man bench for this game and all are right handed.
  14. Did not include Kratz on your list. I assume they will not offer him arbitration. Maybe give him a non roster invite and see if he makes the team out of Spring Training. Vogt is also arbitration eligible but they obviously won't be offering him arbitration. With Broxton spending so much time in AAA this year he won't be super 2 but do wonder what they will do with him now that he has no options.
  15. Late to the party here but the Home Run Schoop had against the Giants wasn't the first one he had against them. Back when the trade was made the highlight of him hitting a game winning three run home run against the Giants was always played from 2016. Probably his two biggest home runs in the big leagues are now against the Giants.
  16. Yeah I remember people rooting for the Cardinals in 2011 against the Phillies so the Brewers would have home field advantage in the NLCS, didn't work out so well.
  17. The Brewers are nearly at 90% to make the playoffs, even if they miss the playoffs at this point the final weekend of games vs the Tigers will still matter.
  18. Yes you will in all likelihood be paying more using stubhub and places like that because you are guaranteed a ticket and enter the stadium whenever you want. Buying at Miller Park there is some risk because you might miss some of the game/introductions. I always buy hard physical tickets as well when buying at Miller Park as I am weary of buying print at home tickets and the possibility of it being a duplicate.
  19. The Brewers have been fortunate to have their NLDS games start on Saturday's both in 2008 and 2011. It was difficult to get tickets to the first game for both but second game was much easier, especially in 2008. Same with the NLCS in 2011, game 1 was a Sunday and tickets were difficult to get but game two was much easier for the Monday and game 6 was even easier since they were down in the series. Not sure how difficult it would be to get a Wild Card ticket on a Tuesday if that is where the Brewers end up. If the Brewers make the NLDS it pretty much is going to be the Cubs so tickets would again be tough.
  20. According to Adam McCalvy they have to stay 10 days now after the most recent CBA but I can't find the particular rule where it states that.
  21. I think it would be nice to have another lefty bench option besides Granderson so still think Thames makes any playoff roster provided he is healthy.
  22. I have not checked the Fangraphs Playoff odds for a couple of days but they have made a pretty big jump the last couple of days. Was around 50% and now at 75% and even ahead of the Cardinals.
  23. Probably more disappointed in losing Thompson than Demi O as he still has an option and would have liked to see what the Brewers could do with him. Imagine some crap team picks him up and pitches him in September. Brooks is pushing 30 and out of options so no big deal there.
  24. If the Brewers make the wild card game the roster will likely look much different in the NLDS so kind of hard to answer. For example not going to have 5 starters in the Wild Card like the OP has it.
  25. Since Lyles is on the major league team already and Counsell appears to have some confidence in him I imagine Lyles is here for the rest of the year. I don't think Wilkerson is good enough to keep a 40 man spot on the Brewers this winter so he is the one to go. Brooks isn't very good either but must be some reason they wanted to call him up yesterday.
