  1. When he was optioned. He was not optioned by Tampa. They could have optioned and then DFA to start the clock sooner.
  2. Yeah...this guy is either playing SS for the Brewers or they really have a trick up their sleeves and he's playing catcher. He's going to be in our lineup. Probably often. I won't be shocked if Arcia stays though. It's not really a trick but I guess I am under the assumption that Arcia or Saladino will be the every day SS. It is all speculation at this point though and I guess we will just have to see.
  3. If we are to take out his one year of bad SS play in 2016 we certainly can't assume he is a 30 HR guy either from 2016. His max was 11 his other 4 years playing. I don't doubt he will be more valuable than Sogard but beyond that it is up in the air.
  4. Maybe I missed it but what post here is showing even a minimal amount of freak out.
  5. I believe in another week or so he will have 5 years of service and can decline further options. So once he gets called up it will likely be for good.
  6. I would disagree and say Miller can no longer play SS.
  7. I think the Brewers already have enough first basemen. The Rays don't see him as a 2B much less a SS so I hope the Brewers stay far away. Just looks like a waste of money. If the Brewers want an upgrade trade some of their minor league depth for an upgrade.
  8. He continues to make starts at SS, including yesterday's game. I am really starting to think the Brewers might replace Sogard with Moore. If Moore can play SS adequately I agree that he has passed up Orf, a couple of years younger as well. It would also be nice to have another utility guy that they could option when managing the roster. Could also see if they have a cheap replacement for Perez down the road.
  9. Well thanks to the steroid/PED era he would always have company with Rafael Palmeiro and Pete Rose as well as long as he is alive.
  10. With Joantgel Segovia now playing in Carolina I would imagine he gets votes and into the top 25.
  11. Very frustrating game to be at thus far. Should have broken it open at some point already.
  12. I will be thete Saturday, section 109. Seems like Saturday will have the most fans, hopefully a bunch of them Brewers.
  13. Markakis has his best year slugging at his age 34 season, makes you scratch your head.
  14. 17-9, regression to the mean so the Brewers sweep the Cubs this time around.
  15. With Villar playing well in May I don't think it is even a consideration right now. If they do go that route in a couple of months I think it will likely be more of a rental. Scooter is controlled for 2019 as well but Hiura is knocking on the door so doubt it would happen.
  16. I would agree that Gatewood could get into the top 100 if his May is the new normal but far too often he has months like he had in April. Would like to see a high level month to month and not just here and there.
  17. The move at the time and in hindsight was the correct one. Hader was blowing up a bit and was extremely lucky already not to give up the lead. It was a righty and there was a base open so a good spot for Knebel. If the bases were loaded or a lefty coming up I think they stick with Hader one more batter. Counsell's explanation was fine so kind of silly for some to complain Knebel is leading the poll and only a hindsight answer.
  18. Orlando Arcia with the game winning hit in his return from the minors:
  19. They are pretty much equal during the month of May. Put them both in the best position to succeed and that has happened thus far this month.
  20. Arcia doesn't deserve to be starting right now so hopefully he figures something out in AAA. They can ride the Saladino wave for a while but I doubt it lasts so certainly a position to target at the trade deadline. Sogard is probably looking at a DFA if he doesn't turn it around the next few weeks.
  21. If people really believe Pina was going to be a 2 WAR/season player over the next few years then maybe but most don't and if the Brewers think that they probably don't go after Realmuto.
  22. I think it is fine that Yelich is playing today, my guess is Yelich will sit and Shaw will face Vargas.
  23. Taylor Williams has his 45 days in for the year making him ineligible for the future. MLB Pipeline has removed him from their list and added Payton Henry at 29.
  24. Suter is at 4.02 ERA as a starter when combining 2017 and 2018. Edit: Exactly 4.00 ERA now that the book is closed today. A little cherry picking leaving out 2016. However, I still think it is reasonable to say that I would rather have him as a reliever, his ERA is under 2 when relieving. With the game changing I guess it doesn't matter that much if he never goes beyond 5 innings but I'm sure hoping a Burnes/Peralta/Woodruff steps up and replaces him in the rotation this year or next.
  25. Similar to Shaw, Aguilar has to prove it all year. He did well the first half of last year in limited playing time but then struggled pretty bad the second half.
