  1. Hernan Perez batting leadoff
  2. I think Counsell has said in the past Shaw is the cleanup hitter and he has given no indication that his view has changed. When Shaw starts it will be cleanup.
  3. Well yes that would be quite impressive and would move him up the rankings fast. However, until this recent run his numbers have been unimpressive so I will take a wait and see approach but cautiously optimistic at the moment.
  4. I have to disagree on Chacin. I understand your thought process but if it is the trade deadline and he is 9-3 with a 3.65 ERA the Brewers can get something for him considering he is only owed about $7 million next year. Just don't believe that guys like Logan, Broxton, Franklin, Bandy, etc, would have more value than him. Would probably put him in the 14-23 category. Cain is a tough one because it is four more years and everybody would love to have him this year but things can change fast the next four years and his salary gets higher every year.
  5. Maybe check with the Baseball Hall of Fame photo archives. They have hundreds of thousands of images, wouldn't hurt to e-mail them with the players you are looking for.
  6. He no doubt stunk last year but if the Brewers get 2016 Saladino that will be fine.
  7. Hopefully this is the day that Koch comes back down to reality. My guess is they get 5 runs off of Koch, Woodruff pitches decent and the bullpen does their job.
  8. He is guaranteed over $100 million over the next few years, why risk that?
  9. Yes, Perez is hot right now and will hopefuly keeps playing until he cools down.
  10. 2B is mentioned a lot because it is one of the positions that is not producing, no matter if it has been Villar, Sogard or Perez. Unfortunately there is not a lot that can be done in early May so we will continue to hear it. Perez has played nice thus far in May so maybe they stick with the hot hand but that won't likely last. Some people mention Orf because there isn't many other options besides that. SS has obviously been bad as well but again there are even less options now that Dubon is out for the year. I cringe even thinking about who they go with if Arcia gets hurt, maybe get to see Saladino play every day. Catcher is one area where I do think they could at least try to improve. Bandy would have to be DFA if they bring up either Christian Bethancourt or Jacob Nottingham but that position has been so weak I don't really care if they lose Bandy. I am fine with the outfield right now because Braun/Santana have proven in the past that they can and will produce offensively. I don't think Phillips can easily OPS over 700 as he is having difficulty even making contact.
  11. Villar probably has less trade value now than when the Brewers acquired him for Cy Sneed because he is actually making decent money now and is in the process of having two consecutive bad years.
  12. Unlike last year, the advanced stats will even tell you that Jeffress has been very good this year. It is hard to find much of anything negative with JJ thus far.
  13. With his lack of power and being pretty much a LF only I wonder if the Brewers risk losing him in the rule 5 draft next year. Maybe they might even include him in a trade. One thing I did notice is he has improved a great deal with his base stealing. Was a horrible 18/41 prior to 2017 and has been 22/27 for over a 80% success rate since then.
  14. I hope they take that route. I like Suter much more in the bullpen and gives Peralta a taste of the majors. With the off day next week it is easy to send Peralta back diwn after tbe game
  15. I am not worried about the bullpen. Sure, stay away from Hader, Jeffress and Suter today but they have a 9 man bullpen right now, they can get through the game. Williams/Alber/Lopez/Barnes could all use work and they may want to pitch Knebel as well.
  16. I think I was the only person to boo Evan Marshall when he entered the game yesterday. Remember when Braun faced him a couple of years after his beaning in Arizona and he hit a 3 run home run.
  17. Traded to Cleveland for cash, so get to see him next week!
  18. The Brewers performance on Star Wars Night
  19. I'm just kind of surprised that has never happened in the history of baseball, a squeeze type play in the bottom of the ninth to win a game. Whenever I see this type of scenario going forward I will probably think to myself that we could see history today.
  20. So if that same situation from 1989 happened in a tie game in the 9th how does that work? After they get the out at first how long would the Brewers have to get the out at third? If the Brewers head to the dugout is it a walk off win for the Yankees and does that third out at first even technically ever happen since an out can't occur after a run scores in normal walk off situations.
  21. You indicated you lean more to younger prospects but have to at least mention Nick Ramirez, maybe not the best stuff but the results have been there since he switched to pitching. Really good April between AA/AAA. Bubba Derby has also done pretty well in AAA considering the environment. Would like to see the walks go down and strikeouts up but overall a solid April.
  22. Yep, with the off days this works perfectly for the Brewers but still gets me a little nervous because of the rotator cuff.
  23. While I didn't really like Drake he wasn't used high leverage much this year. I really hope the Brewers did find a mechanical flaw because Miley starting and pitching awful is worse than Drake pitching some meaningless innings. With Miley's guaranteed money can't see him starting any less than 5 games.
