  1. Since we are talking about Harrison, below are a couple of quotes from Chris Kusiolek, somebody I follow who does player evaluation: Lot of issues with Monte Harrison in regards to swing and feel at the plate, but just hit a ball out of Salt River. Literally. His swing has coverage holes; doesn't track well out of the hand. Low hand set pre pitch, gets late and long; timing varies. Platoon/bench future for me. 6 arm, 6 run. Double plus raw.
  2. Doubt there is a fight over remaining money but will likely try to get signing bonus back.
  3. I don't think it is two useful pieces. It is two bad Giant contracts for 1 bad Cub contract. If the Giants are trying to fill a hole and get rid of two bad contracts then Broxton only accomplishes one of those. Probably the only comparable for the Brewers would be Broxton and Braun for Samardzija as the Brewers need starting pitching and the Giants then have a CF.
  4. I had no idea he was that bad in 2000, dominated the following 10 years.
  5. Listening to Schiavone talk about some of the PPVs, especially the Halloween Havoc's have been hilarious. The one he did about Bobby Heenan shortly before his death is also great. He really has a nice sense of humor and that surprised me because he was seemed like such a jerk on Twitter only a few years back.
  6. While 2017 was fun I will probably still look more at individual players than what I want the team to do. If Brinson, Phillips, Santana, Woodruff, Arcia and Hader take steps forward I don't really care what the team does but if all six of those guys are improving then there is a decent shot that the team is good so kind of go hand in hand.
  7. If that is the case then that is reason enough for him to drop as relievers don't do too well in these polls.
  8. That is the danger of playing some of these small schools that complain when nobody schedules them. Utah State was a darling a few years ago, they get scheduled and are not so good. Wisconsin actually schedules an away game at BYU which is traditionally a tough place and BYU stinks this year
  9. Jungmann is on the list of potential starters but a longshot, he is also a possibility in the bullpen. As they add minor leaguers to the 40 man and sign other free agents Jungmann may be one of the guys to go but no rush right now. Maybe even a minor trade piece.
  10. You have to be within 100 yards of the theater and the tickets have to be day of. Could in theory go to the theater on a Saturday morning, check in and get the tickets and come back later. My wife and I have a pass so we have to buy separately but use one of the kiosks and purchase right next to each other so we sit together still.
  11. I was born in 1977 and in no way consider myself a millennials. So does millennial consist of multiple generations, being gen x, y and whatever is after that.
  12. Yep, that line of thinking is kind of gone after last year.
  13. Drake doesn't have options. They still have fat to trim with too many lefty specialists in Webb, Drake and Wang that are borderline MLB players.
  14. I don't know if they are must see but did see Blade Runner 2049 and Happy Death Day over the last week. If you are a fan of the original Blade Runner you should try to see it in theaters still, looks beautiful on the big screen. Happy Death Day was much better than I thought it would be and the main actress was very good. Think Groundhog Day but instead of just waking up every morning you are killed every night before waking up the next day. Typically don't see a bunch of movies but I signed up for MoviePass and I have enjoyed it thus far, can see a movie a day for $10 a month and it works fine at the Marcus Theaters that I go to.
  15. reillymcshane, I'm sure you are on top of things but might want to delete post 13 so you don't double count.
  16. Still have hope as he only turned 20 a couple of days ago but don't feel real good about him. Hasn't really shown much of anything at any level thus far and really needs a decent season at Wisconsin next year. Can't really speak of lack of effort as I only saw him play a few times and would classify more as overmatched versus laziness but either way he has to start producing.
  17. I like Shaw but hope they don't offer an extension, he will not only be in his 30's if extended but quite frankly has yet to prove he can be a consistent player the whole year. Still like the idea of extending Arcia since he is so young and would still be at or near his prime when he is set for free agency. Don't think I would extend any relievers like Knebel either, wouldn't mind playing it year to year with him. Nelson would have been high on the list but don't see it at this point as his injury is too high risk. If they see Santana in their future plans would certainly be open to an extension there as well.
  18. For 2018 I could live with a Perez/Sogard platoon at second. I think we are getting close to the point where one of Perez/Villar has got to go and I like Perez a little more because he can play solid defense at second, third and corner outfield.
  19. I think success has something to do with it. County Stadium and MECCA actually had championship teams and hall of fame players. The Bradley Center on the other hand had a lot of bad Bucks teams and minor league hockey and soccer. Marquette was good/great at times and had Wade so maybe some feel differently with them but I am not a big Marquette guy.
  20. Wouldn't be anything new as he always seems to do well in hitting contests and home runs derbys.
  21. I remember seeing something this past summer showing he was practicing a hook shot so that would be pretty cool to see especially since Kareem complimented him this past week on his Twitter.
  22. Relatively low risk deal for the Brewers. Even if Anderson reverts back to what he was they just finished paying Garza 12 million a year and this is $12 million over two year. If Anderson continues to play well they control him through his age 33 season.
  23. I know there are posts in the 2016- 2017 thread already but Figured I would start a new one considering it is a new season and things have been looking good thus far. Just real excited about this team right now because the Bucks have a true superstar to build around and it is actually realistic to say the Bucks can win a NBA Championship in the next few years.
  24. He is a very good prospect that is overlooked by many. Comparing him to Wendell Rijo is just being silly. Good on base, power and speed, out of everybody in the top 25 he will likely have a top 5 major league career, real solid player.
  25. I don't really like wearing jerseys of current players especially now that I am older than all of them so pretty much just wear Yount and Molitor powder blue jerseys. I have been looking for a Daryl Hamilton jersey similar to above without success.
