  1. That was an unfortunate win last night as I also agree that Chicago is horrible at this point with their injuries. Will take the win if Henson is the reason why they win. Still finished 3-8 in what was likely their easiest part of the schedule for the entire year. (Philadelphia, Charlotte twice, Detroit twice, Washington twice, Boston twice, Brooklyn and an injured Chicago team.)
  2. Yeah his splits the last couple of years in the majors and minors are kind of weird and seem to indicate he would not be a good platoon guy.
  3. That is a valid point, there is really no reason to have both on the team, they really need a platoon (Halton?) with either of them as well.
  4. Not too concerned with B because Gindl is a decent option if Davis doesn't pan out.
  5. The Brewers sure seem to like light hitting utilty infielders from the Royals. Falu could potentially battle Bianchi for a final roster spot.
  6. ? Gantner and Loretta were on division contending teams.
  7. I really don't understand giving up cost controlled players like Schafer and especially Gindl for a replacement level guy like Morrison that is going to cost a couple of million.
  8. Career OBP: .337 ... Last 3 seasons OBP: .325 I'm guessing Chris Cotillo is flat-out making this up... shocking guess, I know. Source: Me Honestly, I'd rather just see Gamel get another crack at 1B than give up anything to get Morrison. I actually agree with his statement. He does have a high on base approach, his on base is quite a bit higher than his average. Unfortunately he does not appear to be a very good hitter.
  9. Not sure if this is the right place to post about potential targets for the Brewers but Baseball America noted that Omar Luis, a guy the Yankees initially signed to a $4 million bonus in 2012, is eligible for the Rule 5 Draft. http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/surprise-player-available-in-rule-5-draft/ With the talk of the Brewers not having many high ceiling players would it be a decent move by the Brewers to stash this guy away in the bullpen for a year and then option him from 2015-2017 and hope he develops into a quality starting pitcher? Looks like he had major control issues last year but I guess I'm trying not to look too much into the stats and more at the talent potential.

  11. I wish I didn't get rid of my Mark Loretta jersey.
  12. No, comments like these is why the GM gets a pass. This is a terrible team no matter which players on the roster play at 100% health, most of the guys individually on the roster would contribute to playoff and even championship level teams but the way it is constructed they can't win and won't win this year. I love that they keep on losing but Hammond needs to take more heat and be gone.
  13. Certainly a lot older than I thought, didn't really get a chance until he was 28 with the Pirates. His career suggest a platoon at best, better than most of the guys they used last year but wouldn't be too optimistic for 2014 if the Brewers gave him a starting job at first.
  14. Don't care too much about the metal detectors but what you mentioned is more my fear. Going to other ballparks/stadiums across the country it is quite obvious the Brewers are much more generous regarding what can be brought into the park, saves me and my family money. The commissioner's office could go even further and set a standard of what can be brought into all MLB stadiums.
  15. Wished they maybe would have done this a few days so they could have protected somebody else or potentially picked somebody up in Rule V draft. However, not sad to see Badenhop go, the Brewers did pick up De La Torre from the Red Sox in September so I guess I would rather have him than Badenhop at this point.
  16. I would rather they play the young guys because they are going to lose either way so might as well try to develop a couple of guys along the way. Now if I thought Hammond had a plan and was playing the veterans in order to pump up their value and perhaps get another draft pick I would be willing to wait to play the younger guys until after the trade deadline. However, Hammond doesn't really appear to have a plan except try to get the #8 seed, which he has no chance of accomplishing.
  17. Looking at that list there are not many players even in hindsight that they should have added. Maybe Lucroy, Cain, Brantley.
  18. That is where I disagree and why I am both excited and frustrated. I am looking forward to the high draft pick that they will get but am frustrated because this is an unintentional tank, the GM and others there actually thought and may actually still think this is a playoff team. This organization doesn't deserve the excuse of tanking because they are just flat out incompetent.
  19. I didn't realize how bad Davis was this past year, only 9 HR in over 300 at bats. I'm all for trading Aoki for the right guy but Davis is not that guy.
  20. I politely disagree because I don't think they are capable of much scoring and don't have much faith offensive wise in the guys you mentioned or that Delfino sees the court much at all. I give Mayo and Neal credit for shooting well that night but they can't do it on a consistent basis so that is why they will end up with 25-30 wins. They don't have much scoring and while Ellis and Jennings were criticized a lot they at least knew how to create shots for themselves and others. Edit: Just saw Delfino is done for the year, so yeah scoring will be tough and can't wait for Hammond to be fired.
  21. For the Bucks to win this year they need Neal and Mayo to be hot and last night they barely won even when that happened. Also concerned about Sanders but at least Henson gets to play.
  22. I agree Baldkin, I can live with the losses if Wolters, Henson and G are playing key minutes like they did against Boston.
  23. Wolters getting a ton of minutes was one of the only good things from last night, don't want to see guys get hurt but hopefully he continues to play. Stinks that Henson isn't getting more playing time, hopefully Butler shows something and can get traded to a good team, same thing with ZaZa. Wouldn't be surprised if this is a very frustrating season for Sanders, but he still can be a big part of the future. It is early but Giannis needs to play more down the road if they want fans to pay to see this team play.
  24. Laughable starting lineup of Knight/Mayo/Middleton/Butler/Sanders. I really don't see why so many are optimistic about them winning, changing my prediction to 27 wins.
  25. I don't know if it means too much at this point, he can certainly still be traded this winter.
