  1. The Brewers could have really used him the last road trip, certainly would have been a better option off the bench then some these journeymen that are getting at bats in key situations. Oh well.
  2. This would almost be a NBA type salary dump by the Brewers but if the Red Sox or anybody else would take him for an expiring contract that would be fine with me. I'm not one who thinks Weeks will snap out of it, dump him while you still can.
  3. Actually Hart is better than most want to give him credit for.
  4. Why not? I never understood why people thought Thomas was good, I do like Oglivie though.
  5. Having Rickie Weeks signed for 3 more years could be pretty bad. Will be right up there with Suppan if he is done.
  6. If you gift somebody more that $13,000 there could be a gift tax so I could see that happening if you give back a milestone ball.
  7. Jenkins over either Thomas or Oglivie, maybe even take Hart over them.
  8. That's what it looks like to me. Too bad for the ladies that we can't see his lower half. That is also why it looks like he wasn't taking part, he is wearing 80's short shorts.
  9. Now is as good as time as any to sign him and let him DH some of the 9 road AL games. If he hits let him stick around, if not then no loss.
  10. I don't know if his value goes up but considering the Ethier contract and being compared to Werth and Crawford at the time, it was a great signing.
  11. I give you credit for actually telling the truth in your story and saying you swore instead of blaming it all on the staff. However, there is no way that person knew your story and that you were told to go to the front so you are largely responsible and have to take ownership of your decision.
  12. Yeah, I really dislike him but we were supposed to dislike him. There are so many interesting characters in this series but I always found it interesting how Schwimmer's character was good at what he does but when it came to the real thing he just couldn't handle it. I'm sure there were many people just like him and it gives me that much more respect for the people that fought for our country as it really takes a special person to do that.
  13. To be fair it would have loaded the bases with no outs. Not a big fan of bunting but Roenicke has some rather poor options in the bottom of the order. He gave Aoki a chance to drive in a couple of runs and he is probably their best hitter right now as sad as that is.
  14. Sore losers.
  15. Andrew Clark had a couple of good years, any idea why he decided to retire. Too old to be in high A ball?
  16. Also, if you have not seen already the Brewers will be wearing these July 1. http://ow.ly/i/G47m
  17. ^ Scroll down the page a little for the results. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120604&content_id=32744618&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb
  18. Braun has a pretty healthy lead over Ethier so it sure looks like he will start. Would be nice if Greinke got a chance to play in front of Kansas City as well.
  19. Thanks for the link, it was interesting to read about Fiers past and how scouts have perceived him. Sickels is right that it is already a heck of a return on the $2,500 investment.
  20. Since Kottaras is arbitration eligible next year I don't see him being a Brewers beyond this year. However, with his recent slump and injury I don't the Brewers could get much of anything in return anymore.
  21. Hawk Harrelson went nuts today after a White Sox pitcher got ejected. http://www.bflo360.com/2012/05/watch-hawk-harrelson-lose-his-mind.html
  22. Could 2010 and 2011 be deleted since not every player from those years is on the salaries page anyway? Then perhaps the columns could be widened so that the totals would be more readable.
  23. Saying somebody has a 50% chance of being an impact player isn't really an insult of the player in my book.
  24. Difficult to see. Always in motion is the future. Once he retires I can provide a better answer and analysis.
  25. I would start Thornburg tomorrow at AA and then he will be on five days rest when they need the fifth starter on the 29th. For the time being I would probably bring up McClendon or Kintzler. Peralta has been terrible so far this year and doesn't really deserve the call up.
