Another quality three inning performance by Gasser, only needing 31 pitches this time around. Maybe one more outing like this and perhaps the Brewers call him up.
I was listening to the Youtube version but take note at around the 15:40 mark, Chuck Freimund gave Brewerfanatic some significant praise with the number of quality writers on the staff and in this particular case Jason Wang's article on Brice Turang and MVP discussion.
Since Matt Arnold is starting to receive more criticism for his deadline deals I have to continue to give him praise for this deal. A great combination of helping this current team tremendously and still having 5 more controlled years. They lost some prospects but odds are they never accomplish what Priester will do for the Brewers.
I know people don't really care about pitcher wins anymore but he is a stopper of losing streaks. Brewers have won the last 17 games he has appeared in dating back to May 30th. Looking forward to seeing what he does in the playoffs.
Not so sure Yoho will be here for the stretch run with Megill and even Anderson perhaps being ready after the Pirates series. There is no indication that Murphy trusts him, perhaps better to start fresh next year.
I agree it is a fruitless exercise. Hopefully when the Brewers finally get a chance to compete in a playoff game there will only be 4 NL teams left, they will all be good. Padres, Cubs, Dodgers, Phillies, Mets will all be tough outs.
That disappointment is in the moment however. Would have liked if the Packers won more than one each with Favre/Rodgers but I still love watching highlights from those seasons and seeing the Super Bowl trophies every time I visit the Packers Hall of Fame. Having that one World Series Trophy would do so much for this franchise.
I think a platoon of Vaughn/Black should match or exceed Hoskins/Bauers of this year. Don't really have to commit to either of them beyond 2026 if others appear ready to be called up.
This is discussed every year but as long as he is in the organization by 8/31 the Brewers can add him to the playoffs roster. If the Brewers really want Urias on the playoffs roster they can say he is replacing Garrett Mitchell who is out for the year.
From what I can see that isn't the case regarding the 10/15 day rule..
I believe they had to option Gasser because a pitcher only get 30 days on rehab.
Don't really like Monasterio at SS but there are a number of plays by him that stick with me. The one from last night is one but also in that home series against the Dodgers had a great play at 3B where he fielded a ground ball and immediately went home to get Ohtani. The game against the Nationals when he was pinch running and Jake Bauers hit a ball to the left side but Monasterio was able to still get to third and eventually scored the walk off run and of course that home run in Cincinatti. He is a role player but has had quite a positive impact on this team.
Kind of interesting that the Athletics will play most of their games in Sacramento in 2026 but the Brewers series will be in Vegas. Think I will head out to that series.
Shelby Miller was a nice acquisition. Stats have not been great with the Brewers but a good piece to have at the end of the year and into the playoffs. Didn't necessarily need him when the Brewers acquired him but need him now
