  1. I still would want my #1 in an elimination game. Does no use in game 5 if you don’t win game #4. Also, CC Sabathia is rolling in his grave (I know he’s alive) at this short rest talk… It's 2 elimination games. They both matter exactly the same. What configuration gives us the best chance of winning both? My money is on Burnes and Woodruff starting. Edit: and having Lauer relieve Burnes and Peralta relieve Woodruff.

  3. Escobar was trying to hit a 3-run homer with the bases empty with that swing on the first pitch.
  4. Woody on four days rest, in an elimination game, is probably only going five, if you’re lucky. Houser is probably toast, and no Suter. Yeah, that’s pretty much a bullpen game. What about Peralta for relief in game 5?
  5. Keeping Pederson on the bench has led to four out of the 7 runs that ATL has scored in the series. I still think you go Burnes for game 4 and relieve him with Lauer. Burnes is your number 1. You pitch him in an elimination game if you can.
  6. Why do the pitch Albies low and in? He gets hits off those nearly every time.
  7. Bummer. The one time I didn’t want Yelich to swing at the first pitch. Oh well.
  8. So will we get opportunities to tie the game in the 8th and 9th again?
  9. Lauer game 4. Burnes game 5. Why wouldn’t we go with Burnes for game 4, and Woodruff for game 5? I’d want our best pitchers in there. These will be must-win games so why not go with them?
  10. No. The absolute inability to score runs will be the reason why this series is over for all intents and purposes. +1......and very predictable at that. Agree, but wouldn’t that be an argument for keeping your starter, who was doing very well and is one of your aces (the strength of the tram), in there instead of pinch hitting? We know our offense is struggling so we need to keep our best pitching in to prevent the other team from scoring and hope we can get into one to win 1-0 (or maybe 2-0 if we get lucky). Taking Peralta out early depends on our bullpen, which at this point isn’t very strong, too hope to not allow any runs. So going to the bullpen is basically throwing the game away. I get it, if we don’t score at all, it doesn’t matter who pitched in our side and how many runs we give up. I think being down 3-0 puts a lot more pressure off the offense than being down 1-0 or 2-0 since the odds of us coming back and scoring 4 runs is very unlikely. 1-0 or 2-0 we could get lucky and lay into one like we did in game 1.
  11. I normally support Counsell, but this was just an awful decision and very likely cost us the series.
  12. Time for a strike out and then a deep fly ball out
  13. Why didn’t Urias advance on that Wild pitch? Was it not really too far from the catcher or was it a miss on his part?
  14. What a mistake by the Braves! That might allow the Brewers to win (assuming we can score… at all).
  15. All you have to do against Yelich is: First pitch anything down the middle… he won’t swing. Then just pitch curveballs until he strikes out.
