  1. I'm blocked as well at work. Anyone know of any business related forums on Yuku that we could use as a reason for IT to unblock Yuku?
  2. Man, that's some scary stuff. I used to live in Stevensville, about 30 miles south of Missoula. The fires have been terrible in recent years. I never remember anything like this when I lived there in the late 70's, early 80's. We lived in 10 wooded acres along the Bitterroot Mountains, so we would have been very vulnerable.
  3. My thoughts exactly. That really sucks. How am I supposed to get my Brewerfan fix during the day when Yuku is blocked as a Social;Dating site?
  4. They could go Cappy Thurs, Gallardo Fri and Bush on Sat. Then Cappy is on regular rest and Gallardo has one extra day rest.

  6. Sounds like an interesting concept. It could add revenue to a struggling venue. And it sounds more practical than earlier plans to build a soccer only stadium, that would sit empty most of the year. But I still wonder about the cost and who would pay for it. $40 million seems a bit steep for just a field. Earlier plans called for an entire downtown stadium for $55 million (25,000 seats) link
  7. Here is another vote for Weird Al and the Eagles. I would also add Don Henley. He puts on a good show. I almost forgot about Brother. They are awesome live. Their live shows are much better than their studio albums. And put Third Eye Blind in the category for horrible live shows.
  8. Good article in today's paper. Funny how some restaurant owners met him, but never knew it. link
  9. Yeah, I just looked up pulmonary fibrosis. So I wonder if he smoked or was it all the second hand smoke in the restaurants.
  10. This one took me by surprise. I guess I shouldn't be shocked given that he ate out for a living. I really enjoyed reading his reviews. Those will be some big shoes to fill. He's been doing this for 25 years. I'm curious to see a picture of him. He obviously worked hard to keep his identity a secret. www.jsonline.com/watch/?w...7&id=26875
  11. Burnt pop corn and some kind of tuna dish in the microwave today. Gotta love it.
  12. I was thinking about starting a thread like this about the woman who moved into the cube next to me a few months ago. That list seems to be describing her. She's an extremely loud talker and she's always on the phone (Mostly business calls, but quite a bit of personal convervation during those calls. The loud talking is bad enough, but she's constantly crunching on food while talking on the phone. How obnoxious! She has a microwave in her cube to make smelly food at lunch. Has an annoying cell phone ring and she often leaves it on her desk when she walks away, so it rings forever. Also keeps messing with the lighting levels for the whole area. And other favorite: calling someone on the phone who's two cubes away, so you get that nice echo. The people where she used to sit always comment how nice and quiet their area is now. And I've talked with another person near me who says she works from home more now because of this woman. I've been doing the same. Don't get me wrong, she's a nice person, just extremely annoying.
  13. Braun hit his 9th home run this month. He joins Fielder, Hardy, and Hart who have also had 9+ home run months this year. Have the Brewers ever had 4 different players have a 9 HR month in the same year? This decade, the only players to hit 9 or more in a month were Lee 2x, Sexson 4x, Jenkins once. But I'm not sure before then.
  14. Why do a have a fear that Dessens will be that "veteran presence" in a few weeks?
  15. I'm expecting a Balfour/Thatcher swap before tomorrow's game and then a Gwynn/Hall swap Wednesday. Edit: Or maybe Bray, since he can go a few innings.
  16. Maybe these guys need to get knocked out of first place to wake them up. Then they can't fall back on the "but we're still in first place" crap.
  17. Balfour gets sent packing and Thatcher gets called up tommorrow. Make it happen Doug.
  18. So I guess we're sticking with 13 pitchers when Hall comes back.
  19. I've been watching these records over the years. I'm a bit suprised how Cooper's RBI record has held up. Burnitz and Sexson came so close, but just fell short. But if it doesn't fall this year, I think it will fall soon. It will be interesting to watch in the coming years who will be the first player not named Yount, Molitor, or Cooper to make the top 5 in some of the single season records. (like a 200 hit season or a 110 run season). Looks like Braun has a good shot in a full season.
  20. I've been wondering how much the starter struggles may have to due to Estrada. He's not known for his defense and there were the clubhouse problems last year. I wonder if some of the starters just aren't clicking with him. I also found it interesting in the paper a few days ago, where Yost said he may have Miller catch Suppan because he has been doing better in the last few games with Miller catching.
  21. So Gallardo has faced the minimum through 3.
  22. Beside having low interest rates, the interest paid on school loans is also tax deductible. So you're better off taking out a school loan and paying as much cash as possible for a car. Interest on a car loan is just money out the window. The rule of thumb I've heard is that the total of your school loans should be less than your expected salary in your first year after graduation.
  23. There is so much to see in a small area in DC. You could spend a week and not see it all. The Air and Space museum is a must. The National Archives has the original Declaration and Constitution. The Smithsonian has so many buildings, I know we didn't see them all. Of course there are all the memorials. Fords Theater is close by and an interesting piece of history. Arlington Cemetary is a short drive across the river. There are lots of tours as well. The Capitol building tour is interesting. I'm not sure if they still give White House tours. I think you need to contact your congressman for tickets. Some lesser ones if you have time: FBI, Bureau of Ingraving and printing, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Supreme Court. And for a break, the subway stops at Union Station. You can shop and catch a bite to eat.
  24. I think Gallardo is the best option and you can still limit his innings. He has about 12 starts left. He would have 3 starts in July, then the 5th starter is only needed 3 times in August. That still leaves 6 starts for September.
