  1. I'm rooting for my alma mater, Dominican in Division 3. Going up against La Crosse Aquinas in the semifinals this week. Got to keep up the old WISAA schools dominance of Div 3. And also longing for a way to get them into a real conference and a higher division. Is 400 the cutoff for Div 2? I think Dominican is up to 380 now.
  2. Been there a few times. The Underwater World Aquarium is very cool. One of the best aquariums I've been to. Moving walkways through glass tubes, with sharks and other fish all around you. The amusement park has some fun rides. It is being made over into Nickelodeon Universe, so all the Snoopy characters are being replaced by Nickelodeon characters. They're also getting a number of new rides, including their first looping roller coaster. There are quite a few restaurants, so take your pick. A lot of chains (Bubba Gump, Johnny Rockets, Rainforest, Famous Daves, Tony Roma, etc). No recommendations since they closed my favorite (Odyssey Restaurant). The Minnesota Zoo had some cool things, like an indoor dolphin show and a monorail. Probably not as good as Milwaukee, but still some good stuff.
  3. I expect a can Ryan Braun pitch thread now. Yahoo box score says R Braun pitched a scoreless 7th with a BB and 2 SOs. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Boxscore

    Lost?

All I kept thinking was "Number Johnny 5 is Alive!" or expecting the cat to come with tomorrows newspaper. Great show. I love time travel movies (Somewhere in Time, Butterfly Effect, etc)
  5. Get ready for a Nunez/Counsell platoon.
  6. The Coast is the only one I've been to. Nice atmosphere, good food and nice views of the Art Museum. And when you're done, you can head upstairs to Betty Brinn's Children's Museum to check out where you'll be spending many hours with future kids. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. I always liked him on "Whose Line is it Anyway?" http://www.nationwidespeakers.com/images/biopics/GregProops_586.jpg
  8. Somewhere, Chris Farley is smiling.
  9. I was in Toronto a while ago. There were a few things to do near the Skydome. You can go up in the CN Tower, which was the the world tallest structure until recently. There's a restaurant at the top. I remember there being a few attractions around the base of the tower, including some virtual reality stuff.
  10. We will need a 5th starter on the 6th, 12th, 19th and 24th. Just using Sheets, Suppan, Bush, and Capuano for kicks. 3/31 - Sheets 4/1 - off 4/2 - Suppan 4/3 - Bush 4/4 - Capuano 4/5 - Sheets 4/6 - 4/7 - off 4/8 - Suppan 4/9 - Bush 4/10 - Sheets 4/11 - Capuano 4/12 - 4/13 - Suppan 4/14 - Off 4/15 - Sheets 4/16 - Bush 4/17 - Capuano 4/18 - Suppan 4/19 - 4/20 - Sheets 4/21 - Bush 4/22 - Capuano 4/23 - Suppan 4/24 - 4/25 - Sheets 4/25 - Bush 4/26 - Capuano 4/27 - Suppan 4/28 - off 4/29 - Sheets 4/30 - Bush
  11. I don't see how he gets sent down. Parra would be the likely one to get sent down. And Gallardo likely starts on the DL to get a "full spring".
  12. I guess I would add Wilson Phillips and the Spice Girls. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif
  13. I'd agree except that I like No Doubt, but can't stand Gwen's solo stuff. Also, Venga Boys. But my big guilty pleasure is listening to Disney music, from the animated movies, but especially the theme parks.
  14. Yeah, pretty much any John Williams score. Add Jaws and Indiana Jones. Others: Star Trek: The Next Generation Simpsons
  15. Yeah, reminds me of the glorious week in Florida last week. 80's and sunny the every day. It's funny when a few mornings were just below 50. People with coats, hats and gloves. Meanwhile, we're in shorts and t-shirts. I wish I was back there right now.
  16. Someone who died in poverty, according to the pic name.
  17. The picture of my house in Muskego appears to have been from last summer. And I know it was Wednesday, because the recycling bin was by the street. Kind of creepy to think that someone can look all around the outside of my house.
  18. Yes, my memory was correct. So Dalton was the last GM to go to an arby hearing? From 2 years ago: http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060117&content_id=1297132&vkey=news_mil&fext=.jsp&c_id=mil
  19. If Melvin can't find a trade, I wonder if Mota is the odd man out, with Vargas and Cappy in the bullpen? Melvin indicated that Bush has an inside track on a rotation spot.
  20. Haudricourt reporting that talks have ended with Hardy and they're preparing for arbitration on Monday. It will be Melvin's first arbitration with the Brewers. Hope this doesn't lead to any hard feelings down the road. Isn't Jim Gantner the last Brewer to go the arbitration or is my memory failing? http://blogs.jsonline.com/brewers/archive/2008/02/14/brewers-hardy-headed-for-a-hearing.aspx
  21. I haven't given anything up this year. I haven't had much luck in the past. But I do observe the fast and abstinance rules. Avoiding meat on Friday's isn't a big deal, but Ash Wednesday was tough this year since we were in Disney World. We had a nice grilled fish lunch at one of the resorts for our one meal, but it was tough going the rest of the day without a meal. So many snacks and good things to eat around every corner. (Especially when my son is exempt and can eat whatever he wants)
  22. I work in Walker's Point (Allen Bradley Clocktower). The southside is getting worse. Most of the crime used to be more west of 43, but it's moving into Walker's Point and Bay View. Those areas are just starting to re-develop as the Third Ward development moves south. I'm afraid what a high profile crime like this could do to the area. Start keeping people away and businesses thinking twice about coming there. I'm really starting to think twice about visiting some of the businesses in the area.
  23. What about Munhall? Would he be at AAA as well, with Rottino playing all over the diamond?
  24. The Cameron signing puts the Brewers payroll at around $82-83 million. That seems a bit higher than expected. Trading someone like Vargas for prospects gets them under $80 million.
  25. Yeah, I don't want a 2 lb bag sitting at my desk because I'd probably eat it all in one sitting.
