  1. My guess: 1 classic rock act, 1 country act, 1 alt-rock / pop act. My hope would be Paramore...partially because they were a pretty regular part of Brewers broadcasts (and they still play "Misery Business" between plays at MP), and partially because I really like Paramore. 2. On that note, is Mark Loretta coaching anywhere?
  3. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/11/brewers-acquire-adam-lind.html Acquired, per same source. No word on terms.
  4. Weeks was one of the most frustrating players to me; you could always see the talent, and he plays hard...but for whatever reason it didn't always translate to production (especially in the later years). Hope he has another bounce-back year or two in him, as long as it's in the AL.
  5. I don't think it's the type of thing you buy for actual value, so much as the novelty / keepsake value of the thing. That being said, I don't throw away $950+ dollars on novelty, and I cannot see an investment of $1,000.00 now ever outstripping inflation on the value of a baseball ticket, so I'm not in the market for this. I will be curious to find out when / if the timeless ticket ever gets redeemed for real tickets, if only for schadenfreude (even while realizing the buyer has more than enough money to write-off the loss, so the joke is really on the people talking about it).
  6. Agree. By the eye test only he wasn't the run-saving, black hole...Gold Glover that he was last year. Still very good. Eye test and anecdotal evidence, but I don't remember Gomez bringing back nearly as many home runs in 2014 as he did in 2013.
  7. Patrick, I can't answer the first question...since I'm a Netflix user myself, and don't have a subscription to Amazon Prime (or any comparable services). As to the second question, however, you may want to look into the media streaming devices manufactured by Roku. I don't own one, but my understanding is they're fairly functional and (relatively) cheap. Apple TV is another device which might be worth looking into, but I don't know if they allow access to services other than iTunes.
  8. It's a tough one for me because the money is reasonable...but with the PR nightmare that the NFL has gone through on the Ray Rice / Greg Hardy / Adrian Peterson charges, and an NBA season still-to-come, I have to think that the new MLB Commissioner is going to take a hard line should something like this resurface. I don't know that Milwaukee could get another 2 years out of K-Rod as a closer, between the performance tailing off and his recent past off-the-field.
  9. If you design banner ads for the Internet, and build in a video clip that auto-plays - with sound - you deserve to have gruesome bodily harm inflicted upon your person. (Especially when the ad finally loads up in a browser tab other than the one I'm actually looking at when the sound kicks in.)
  10. I know this kind of gesture is easy and virtually meaningless, but it still makes me happy to get something like this in my inbox. Hat tip to Brewers marketing. http://mlb.com/mil/images/email/y2014/im_thankyoufans_600.gif
  11. ...so Molitor is going to get the Twins job, right?
  12. MLB At Bat: In play, run(s). ...double play... Yeah, that's about par for the course right now.
  13. Bases loaded, no outs, down 2-5. Will they manage to get a run this time around?
  14. Cardinal voodoo magic strikes again. Here's hoping we can get a few clutch hits against Wainright.
  15. ...well, at least we know AP spends time with one of his kids...
  16. I'm starting to think the players only meeting was really the team drafting for fantasy football.
  17. The hardest thing about this slump is the feeling that games are over whenever the other team puts up a crooked number. (I turned off Sunday's game at 4-0....can't stand to watch them blowing this opportunity.) There is still time to make things right, turn the ship around into one of the wild card spots....but some part of this team needs to start working again.
  18. Why do you wait until after the essential series against the now-division leader to call the meeting? Were they not playing poorly enough going into the Cardinals series to warrant this? (I'm not a big believer that players-only meetings matter...but if they matter enough to have one, the timing of the thing still seems questionable to me.)
  19. Sad. At least one would hope he was with his family when it happened.
  20. Having the team all-time strikeout record isn't much of a criteria for getting your number retired. The prior record holder was Ben Sheets, and as much as I was a fan of his, if the Brewers retired #15, it wouldn't be for him.
  21. Hard not to feel optimistic after sweeping the Dodgers top of the rotation on the road!
  22. The more I've started fiddling with a camera at the ballpark, the less I seem to notice all the background annoyances. (Then again, the frequent clicking of the digital camera may well be contributing to someone else's annoyance.)
  23. ...and bullpen support; the Brewers have to stay in the lead the rest of the way for him to get the 'W.'
