  1. Dang, Crew2323 beat me by seconds on Dante. http://product-images.imshopping.com/nimblebuy/half-off-deals-from-mike-hegans-field-of-dreams-1-1032432-regular.jpg http://www.mainlineautographs.com/images/product_pics/miletch_20080421226.jpg

  5. My opinion of A-Gonz goes up: Also of interest: http://deadspin.com/why-dont-the-st-louis-cardinals-respect-the-game-1445679050
  6. I had to Google, and of course this exists: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ondAXNjvH2c/TWUguXyYQKI/AAAAAAAAGqU/kdHrN7Fqt2M/s1600/DustysDugoutDice.jpg
  7. Per http://aol.sportingnews.com/mlb/story/2013-04-12/dodgers-padres-brawl-zack-greinke-carlos-quentin-matt-kemp-ejections If this is true, Jerry gets my vote for the person of the year award.
  8. A longer quote, which is classic Zack: Which I TL;DR as: "I don't throw at him, he simply refuses to get out of the way when I pitch inside." Maybe Zack provoked him by refusing to avoid throwing at him, but this is hard when he stands on the plate and makes no effort to get out of the way. I think that's part a of the game. I have to think Zack does too.
  9. I never minded Daron Sutton back when he was the Brewers TV broadcaster, but listening to some of these videos with him in the background make my ears bleed.
  10. Regardless of whether he's actually guilty or not, this is the final nail in the coffin as far as the court of public opinion is concerned.
  11. Bummed that I'll miss this. Ale House is decent (I used to work across the street), but parking might be trouble. There's a ramp on Chicago a block south, though.
  12. Cleaning house, have the following extra Gamedays: 2006: 1, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 2007: 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 16, 18, 19, 20, 24, 26 2008: 3, 7, 10, 18, 19, 20, 22 2009: 6, 13, 15, 18, 25 2010: 17, 19, 26 2011: 9, 10, 18, 19, 21, 23, 25 Let me know if you want them, otherwise they're destined to be recycled.
  13. I agree with you AZBC, however, If Braun truly believes that the whole decision is a victory for all people who have been wrongly accused, I could see him wanting to sue to send a message. I don't know if they would have just cause to do so, but I could see MLB and MLBPA working together to punish an individual in order to send a similar message to other would be leaks. You'd think that Braun would have to go to ESPN, as they were the ones who broke the story and know the identity of the leak. And while Braun is financially stable, I'd have to think ESPN has more capital at its disposal for a legal battle. What would likely happen is that those closest to the leak would be fired. This might be justified, but it hardly does anything to compensate for the damage inflicted to his reputation.
  14. Hoping that Prince still has some gas left in the tank at the end of this deal so he could round out his career back in Milwaukee, but that seems unlikely.

  16. Anyone recall how long Coke was the sponsor? I remember it being Pepsi in the 80's, including the Brewers/Pepsi fan club, and it's Pepsi now. Seems like most of the coastal stadiums are sponsored by Coke, and most of the inland stadiums are Pepsi-- but I'm sure there's exceptions.
  17. A few years earlier I might have had a different opinion, but it's hard for me to argue with the continued growth of the sport and the manner in which he (finally) divested his family's interest in the team. He's maintained some semblance of competitive balance without resorting to a hard salary cap, of which it's hard to envision the union accepting without high amounts of squabbling. Can't think of anyone else that has a good enough rapport with the owners that could have pulled this all off.

  19. MLB is in a bad position regardless of the outcome. If the leaked information proves to be inaccurate, or if he is exonerated, it casts a bad light on the testing program and the insiders that leaked the story before the appeals process was complete. If there's clear-cut evidence Braun was a doper and he is suspended, it's a black mark on the league as whole and is a step back in their efforts to combat the public's perception of PED in baseball. A wishy-washy backpedal or 25 game suspension is just as bad, and suggests that the testing program is subjective or inept AND that Braun is likely a cheater. I don't see how delaying the inevitable would benefit the MLB, other than to give Mr. Selig and his cronies time to figure out how to spin it in the best possible way. They might be in a hurry to get it over with so the next big scandal or story can erode the public's memory of it. The Braun camp is in a completely different situation: they will impede and delay the process as much as possible if they believe it increases the chances that he'll be cleared of wrongdoing.
  20. Wow, I thought Kottaras was a luxury the Brewers couldn't afford to have. Although forcing him to be Wolf's personal catcher does decrease his value a bit, as he can't be platooned against LHP. Maybe Randy should kick in a couple bucks on his salary?
  21. Blech. Hard to like this trade from any perspective. One my most strongly disliked Cubs-- I had the pleasure of being at the game where the Brewers blew a 5-0 lead capped with a Ramirez walkoff HR (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/recap?gid=270629116). His B-R comps aren't pretty either: Casilla, Dye, Soriano, Beltre. None of those players had a peak that was as long or as good as Ramirez, so hopefully the Brewers can extract enough value from him in the first 1-2 years.
  22. Way too many balls in play for a defense like the Brewers. Have the Brewers pitchers lost their strikeout mojo or are the Cards just that good at putting the bat on the ball?
  23. Greinke looks a magnitude more like a first baseman than Prince Fielder.
