  1. I'd recommend furniture counseling.
  2. I go through about 10 lemons a week, just cutting them up and squeezing them in to water.
  3. He plays more of a banjo type of guitar anyway.
  4. Full time: Network Technician / Jack of all Trades for a surveillance company. Part time/On call: Network Administrator for the family business. Part time/On call: Life.
  5. I want to let it be known that I was in fact not there. Just setting the facts straight.
  6. Don't take this as gospel as I am still a relative noob on the *nix stuff... Linux is basically a kernel. It is just how the system runs on a very low level. Ubuntu is a distribution of linux, one of many. Heard of Red Hat? That's another distro. There are thousands. Ubuntu is actually based off of Debian, which is a good distro in its own right, just a bit less friendly to newer users of linux. What you may look at as the Operating System in the linux model would be the window manager. Window managers are the Graphical User Interface (GUI) that you interact with when you boot. They run on top of the linux kernel and on top of the distro (Ubuntu, Debian, Red Hat, etc) as well. Two main window managers are Gnome (my choice) and KDE, which is a good choice as well. There are other lightweight window managers like XFCE that can help make an older computer fight off being obsolete for a little while. That said, any linux in general seems to run faster (when set up correctly) than any version of Windows. So to sum up: Kernel -> Distro -> Window Manager example: linux -> Ubuntu -> Gnome
  7. Brian, you could always dual-boot. That's what I do. Whenever I need to delve into my Windows-only programs (mostly games and rare proprietary software) I just reboot linux and boot into Windows. I've been running Ubuntu for about 3 years, and linux for about 4. It is a very good option to those who would rather not spend money on an OS. Of course, new computers almost always come with Windows so that is not so much of an issue for the average Joe. But when you build computers for fun and hobby, you don't get that free OS. That's where Ubuntu and linux in general comes in.
  8. Doug Melvin is not around to make a better AAA squad. He said so himself. That said, I see no reason whatsoever that a playoff run would hurt players on a AAA team. One way it would help them would be that the players would then have that experience under their belt, as close to the majors as you can be without being there. The way things rolled out this year, Nashville didn't end up stocked like they have been in the past. One quick glance at the roster in Huntsville this year should give the die-hard Sounds fans something to look forward to later this year and next year.
  9. I love Entourage and Ari, and that is funny, but you might want to put a NSFW (language) note around there somewhere.
  10. Both Gamel and Laporta will see the bigs long before Prince is gone. Prince hasn't even hit arby yet.
  11. Brady Clark's yearly salaries: 2002 Cincinnati Reds $233,000 2003 Milwaukee Brewers $312,500 2004 Milwaukee Brewers $376,000 2005 Milwaukee Brewers $1,150,000 2006 Milwaukee Brewers $3,200,000 2007 Los Angeles Dodgers $3,900,000 Career (may be incomplete) $9,171,500
  12. Congrats on the new job. I've heard of stories much worse than landing a job in your field a year out. You did well. As far as the tickets, If you let them know ASAP and also let them know that this will not be a habit, you might be able to get them to let it slide. It really depends on who you work for. In some cases, I would just forget the tickets and go another time when I don't work. If they are more laid back, I would then ask.
  13. Of course it's going to beat the sales of Halo 3, GTA4 is coming out on both major consoles. Halo 3 was for the 360 only. I actually just bought a 360 yesterday just for the occasion. I haven't gotten the game yet, but I will this weekend when I have two full days to waste. The first two of inevitably many. I can't believe I waited this long to get a new-gen console.
  14. Fear the 88 Pontiac Sunbird Pimped it 96-98 http://www.carsurvey.org/images/pontiac_sunbird_1.jpg Less blue, more red Less shiny, more beater.
  15. If people found a way to talk to all animals, would we still eat meat? (I am a card-carrying carnivore, just wondering)
  16. I was a big fan of the service at Golf Galaxy when I lived in Greendale. I would recommend stopping there also.
  17. I think he'll obviously be in a Packers jersey. Anyone who has played an NCAA game in the past (football or basketball) has seen players on the cover that are no longer in college. I see no difference here.
  18. I thought Weeks did have a goat going.
  19. I thought it was alright. It wasn't meant to be groundbreaking. Just a monster flick. Taking it at face value, it was worth watching.
  20. That had me laughing out loud. Big time.
  21. Let's keep in mind that Cabrera was a teenager when he got in to the big leagues. How many of us still have the bodies we had when we were teenagers? Metabolism slows down, yes, even for professional athletes.
  22. If people aren't complaining about players, they are complaining about people complaining about players. Changing the channel is just a click away...
