  1. that was a really nice AB from Gomez. outside of that last one, all of those balls were very close. surprised he laid off of them....good for him.
  2. lets hope so. bell's actually been pretty good for the past month or so. just one bad outing. let's hope for a second.
  3. how about a carlos gomez walk off walk? Everyone's head can explode simultaneously.
  4. I'm not very high on pastornicky (and I've expressed that in other threads, probably the Greinke one), but the braves aren't going to trade him for wolf or krod. He's not a great prospect, but he still has value and a future as a good utility IF for them. They're not going to trade a 22 year old with potential (even of its league average potential) for wolf or krod.
  5. it's not big enough to host a final four. those are put in football stadiums (superdome, georgia dome, lucas oil, ford field, etc) that can seat 70,000. Miller Park is not an option. Maybe it could host a regional one day (there's been a push to bigger stadiums for that. I saw the badgers get blown up at Ford Field in the S16....i think the GA Dome and Edward Jones Dome hosted them this year), but no chance at a final four. Wrestlemania is a good idea though.
  6. well, at least we loaded the bases for Veras. Too bad for Yo. should have had 7 shutout.
  7. I think he siad Upton but not sure. He's good for 2-3 screwups like that a game. that's probably more likely.
  8. holy cow rickie. and did craig coshun just call chris young, "lumpkin"? Or am i hearing things? maybe he said "young can"
  9. Gallardo's been very good in almost every start that hasn't been against the cardinals (gave up 5 ER to the Cubs in early June). I would like it if he went 7 a little bit more as well (especially the way the bullpen has been going), but it's hard to get too angry about 14/17 quality starts (assuming today ends well for him). QS as a stat has it's flaws, but that would tie him with RA Dickey for the major league lead.
  10. Although with Greinke it's hard to get THAT upset. Johnny Cueto and James McDonald are also pretty big snubs. All 3 have been better than Lynn and probably Hamels (hard to leave him off though). And Huston Street and Hanrahan, but I guess like 6 closers is the norm. oh well.
  11. He should still be put on the team and then replaced. That's not really a reason to keep him off the roster, especially when it costs him a bonus (good for the brewers, i guess?). And I read somewhere that the cubs were both player selections. SS is pretty thin, and no one seems to notice Jed Lowrie has been really good. And 1B is really really thin. Paul Goldschmidt has been better, but outside of him there isn't really another candidate
  12. Lance Lynn was pretty predictable with La Russa managing, but I did not expect Miley (even though Miley has been better). I guess his numbers were pretty ridiculous before he got roughed up yesterday.
  13. I would think that Braun will still start. Either as the DH, or as an OF with Kemp DHing. Also, no Zack Greinke and the Cubs got two all stars somehow. what a joke, as usual.
  14. the brewers aren't really in the market for a SP. there's really no reason to have given him a look. very excited he went to Atlanta though, I would love to be able to go see him pitch.
