  1. Bidding war for Sveum? That's pretty cool. Good for him.
  2. I still don't understand why the Rock hates Awesome Truth so much that he has to team with his hated rival on Sunday. It makes zero storyline sense at all. The annoying thing is that WWE keeps grabbing for these short term fixes to bump the ratings a tiny bit, or to try to bump the PPV buyrates up, instead of taking the time to build some stars with some lasting impact on those things. Dolph Ziggler just screams out as a guy who should be champion. Not US Champion. Get him away from Eddie's widow and make him mean in the process. The last thing they need are more weak heels. Look at Mark Henry - that's what a heel should be. That's why Smackdown goes up in the ratings. They should keep the belt on him for as long as possible and have him continue to crush and "injure" babyfaces, because it's good business.
  3. I'm a huge fan of the old Blue Jays look. The one they have had for the past few seasons is awful.
  4. I think pretty commonly that Boras clients sign later, typically in December.
  5. According to Haudricourt, the Angels are out of the running, as well.
  6. That is pricy.
  7. I'm cool with this... as exciting/good of a player as Reyes is, he is a pretty big risk for the kind of money a team like the Brewers would have to throw down for him.

  10. It's pretty close I'd say, except HHH was heel and Nash was face. Either way, I hope this feud leads to something. Yes, a poor match with a 53 year old dude that can barely move.
  11. I really don't care if they are immature. They are of working age and should be able to be compensated for what they can offer. It's not fair to them to force them to go to school (at taxpayer expense, mind you) when they have no interest in doing so. There are plenty of kids who graduate high school and join the work force. I don't understand why when that job is basketball or football, they can't. It is age discrimination, anti-American, etc. If a player is wrong about his ability, it happens. Just like if a guy who would have been a top 5 pick goes to school and blows out his knee could happen. There's no reason people shouldn't be allowed to strike it rich when they have the chance.
  12. I think they wanted him to be silly and wacky because of how bad the team was. Remember when they had Bob Brainerd running around doing stupid stuff for the same reason?
  13. Or, how about they just get rid of stupid age limits for professional sports?
  14. Maybe he laughed too much, but Provus' laugh sounded just like Powell's, and that made me like him. People were way too concerned about him being a Cubs fan when he got hired. It's just a job and he was a pro.

  16. If he wants to get back to MLB, I would think that he would be a nice pick up. I can't see how he will be expensive at all. I definitely agree with others who thought he deserved more of a shot back when he was around the first time.
  17. It seems like that is becoming less of a problem now, though Hogan does always have some creative control and likes to push old guys. Still, people were freaking out way too much when Angle beat Roode at the last PPV. It's definitely been better since Russo got demoted. I believe the old "Brother Love" handles booking for TNA now.
  18. I'm behind, but I watched Vengeance the other night and thought the collapsing ring spot was pretty decent. I'm pretty much at the point where I don't watch weekly TV at all. TNA is becoming better.
  19. Any time the greatest manager in baseball history leaves the Brewers' division, I am happy.
  20. I just had to watch that like 4 times. Wow. I didn't realize just how awful that play was in the moment and it wasn't like I was going to re-watch this game on my DVR.
  21. I actually sort of even liked the Michael/Holly proposal, which I thought I would hate, since I think the botching of the Jim/Pam situation ruined the show.
  22. Yeah, it's really not feasible unless he starts the game with a pitcher throwing in the bullpen.
  23. I'd be thrilled if there wasn't a next year for McGehee in a Brewers uniform. None. None more leash.
  24. I agree with Chad. It's not going to suddenly be a 100 loss team, or something. They have some really good pitchers and hitters, and are still relatively young. I would like to see them commit to youth with Green and Gamel, though.
  25. But, think of how many t-shirts they sold!
