  1. Signing him was my worst nightmare...starting at 1B is enough to make my head explode. They might as well bring Braden Looper back...and let him fight with Kotsay for CF.
  2. Don't know how you can pin this on RR. His supposed best reliever just imploded. Question is what he does in the ninth next time.
  3. Sure...Rick's shattered bat didn't impale anyone like the Rock's did. Oh well...just one of those nights. Can't even get mad. Go get em tomorrow.
  4. You guys are on the wrong side of Milwaukee...I never go to bed without knowing the final score! Although sometimes I'm a little too aggravated over a tough loss.
  5. Definite candidate for a sig there...
  6. Winner!!! LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUC. Is Gomez going to kill someone in a postgame celebration this year?
  7. If it comes down to it, I have a list of people I'd rather pinch hit than Yuni... Sixto Lezcano The Doorman Tony Migliaccio Attanasio's Dad
  8. Happy Opening Day fellow Brewers fanatics! Ahhh...spring has sprung. Most optimistic day of the year! Just an hour away from the sounds of Bob Uecker in my office.
  9. Opening Day!!! I can't wait to fly back home for those George Webb burgers...12-0 here we come. In other news...the Astros are the best team in baseball...at least for 6 more hours...awesome.
  10. I'll tack on a couple wins on the Lohse signing to get to .500...and one more because it's opening day and hope springs eternal...but then I'm taking one back for Yuni...81-81. I'd also say the Lohse signing takes away more of the downside than adds to the upside. Tough to get below 74-75 wins without major injuries now, but no change in the probabilty of 90 wins. That was dependent on the starters all hitting their upside targets...to where Lohse's upside is as well. Also previously changed my Braves losing WS to the Nats.
  11. Could this be more about a SS for Nashville with Bianchi still injured?
  12. DM is brilliant...just when he's concerned his high price free agent may be under the gun...he signs the all-time Brewerfan whipping boy hall of famer... YUNI!!!
  13. I may not have the Brewers as a playoff team, but I don't know how anyone can't believe this team is a contender. The scenario for them winning either the division or wild card is more than plausible. I might not have done the Lohse deal, but I fully acknowledge this makes them a better team this year. That means more fun in 2013. At the very least...it's almost baseball season!!! Time to get that Brewers love and Cardinals hate going!!! The Brewers will be in LA soon and I'm already planning a trip back to the Good Land this summer...I can't wait.
  14. Is Lohse the player to be named later in the Gomez contract? Maybe if we lump them together it will look a little better.
  15. Well said splitter Plusses: This helps the team this year. This gives them room to move Peralta down to AAA and get him ready to take a spot if/when someone falters. It also gives them a little time to see if Rogers can find it. The contract isn't horrible. Let's do this comparison with Suppan...with Soup, Mark A was wining/dining him to get him over and had to throw in that 4th season to in a competitive bid. No one was biting on Lohse. Negatives: It's so hard to flip a switch and root for guys that I've hated...but he's a Brewer so I'll adjust. Hate the draft pick, hate the 3rd year. Still think he's a mirage, but that's my uneducated bias for ex-Cardinals. I'm sure they'll regret the contract at some point...hopefully they can get enough value early like with ARam where they still win overall on the deal even when he drops off. Overall I wouldn't have done it. Not a disaster and they have the payroll to do it. We lose the 17th pick, not a top 5. I still wouldn't have done it. I think it takes us from 79 wins to .500. I'd rather see what they have in the youngsters and adjust the plan in 2014. Maybe they felt with the TV money that would only get pricier next year.
  16. I may be the lone voice here...but I LOVE that hat. I like the uni too although the back of the uni less so. If they want to get rid of one, get rid of those awful mustard colored unis...those are horrendous.
  17. I'm changing my series prediction to Tigers over Nats in 5 instead of the Braves. Sticking with everything else.
  18. The hardest part of the argument between whether DM should be more aggressive on selling is knowing what the true market for the player is. My guess is he shopped Prince before his last year and didn't get the response he was looking for. Pitchers seem to be the ones that find a more robust market and the Brewers haven't had much to work with until Greinke. Maybe we're underestimating DM, and he's the true new generation of Moneyball. He's determined the one item in the current marketplace that is overvalued is the prospect.
