  1. I honestly think it's a mindset. We are still scared of Big Brother. Until we can beat them up, we will keep lowering our head and walking away. Hey, Missouri guy, why don't you GET OUT! Since you showed up, we went from a 9 game winning streak to a 2 game losing streak!!!!!!!!! ;-)
  2. I too do a little message board reading of other teams, here and there. I always think the same thing, we are pretty lucky how good this board is. It's pretty genuine debate and usually pretty intelligent conversation. Some of these boards sound like drunken idiots at a bar about to get in a fight about who is a better slow pitch softball player.
  3. As much as I love our retro unis, I think it's best we don't go straight back to them. I like our uniforms now. As many have mentioned, maybe an alternate hat that is current color but old mb glove. Then do a retro home like they do now and a retro road gray that they could pick as well. Have all kinds of uniform choices! Their old uniforms are so classic but their current ones are very sharp.
  4. I was going to start a new thread but thought I'd drop it in here. When is the last time the Brewers have worn the retro gray uniforms with "Milwaukee" in cursive across the chest? Have they ever done that as a retro? On that note, why is it so hard to find that jersey out there? I'd love to do a custom gray jersey but can't find it anywhere.
  5. Don't these starters really seem to be feeding off one another right now? Trying to beat the last guys performance. I think they are having fun competing and it's so fun to watch. They also appear to be pretty close knit. I love it!
  6. I do think that you can discuss base running a little more with Carlos, just so his brain can catch up with his feet more often. I don't think you want to take away his aggressiveness, but by going over scenarios and watching video, he should be able to learn a few things. As for Ed on that play.... I almost can't fault him. I agree, with Braun and ARam coming up, it's not smart. That said, the 2b had his back turned when gomez got to third. With Gomez's speed and the 2b having to turn around and throw a bullet, I like my chances. What a fun stretch of baseball. We are definitely getting the bounces right now, but we are also capitalizing on them. Lohse was huge today and we really needed that! I think it was the correct move to take him out at that point, even though I was cheering for him to stay. Man, bring on the Red Birds!!!!!!!!!!
  7. For some reason, I'm not as worried about extending Lucroy as I would be with many other catchers. He does't have the typical bulky catcher body, so I feel like his knees should be better off in the long run. I still don't see him being a huge benefit to any team at a position other than catcher.
  8. Man K Rod looks good. I thought I heard last night that he was hittin mid 90s on the gun. Was that true?
  9. Thurston - I was wondering when he did that, who it was directed to. I think it was to the fans, and then he kind of realized what he was doing and looked more at the dugout, so he could maybe play it off. That was just a gut reaction of mine. Question, didn't the Brewers do that type of gesture last year or am I thinking of "monsters" thing they used to do (can't remember what they called it)? I honestly don't think Braun can be a villain, even though that might be best at this point. I think he's too passive and deep down, feels the need to be loved. I think he's playing it off pretty well, but I really don't think he fully embraces all the negative attention. I could be wrong, it's just my opinion. He's not a guy like Prince that didn't care what others said, and had a mean streak to him.
  10. Hahaha, that really did make me happy! Thanks TooLiveBrew!! Awesome.
  11. Awesome win last night!!! Braun is just killing it in clutch situations right now. Hope he can keep that up. Good to see Reynolds absolutely smash that HR late in the game. Good stuff!
  12. He's straight butter right now! With him pitching this well out of the pen, do we try to keep him some what stretched out? There are always times in the year where you need more starters, so is he the guy? Kind of a tough call because he's been doing so well in high leverage situations.
  13. I think fans on a lot of message boards (not hear) are not a great depiction of what the real fans are like for a team. I've heard nothing but great things about Boston fans at the park. Obviously message boards make people think they can say anything they want. Internet tough guys.
  14. Those were their words, not mine. That said, I do think he used Rodgers a bit, with the knowledge that if he defended him, everyone in WI would fall behind. I don't think he specifically said, "tell people I didn't do it." I think he probably knew Rodgers might say something if he told him he didn't do anything and that would be huge. That's getting a big off topic because that's not what this is about. The point is he lied to him and it made him look like an idiot as well.
  15. The Phillies message board was debating that for quite awhile. Some said, they can't be mad at him because of Ruiz. But a few said, I'm not mad at him for cheating, I'm mad at him for the lies, dragging people like Rodgers in to it, and then destroying the tester. So it's valid. Unfortunately, other fans are putting him in the same category as a guy like ARod.
  16. I looked at the Phillies and Red Sox message boards recently and it's pretty funny what people think. I know message boards aren't the best place to get a true fan's perspective but it's interesting. I actually think the Phillies message board I went to was pretty civil. They gave some good credit to players like Braun and Lucroy. That was cool to see. A couple people didn't like the lies Braun told, but for the most part seemed to respect him. The Red Sox boards are a disaster. Just a bunch of angry dudes yelling. No respect for the Brewers at all. Basically they think we are a joke of a team. Anyway, I know many people look at other boards or talk to other fans at games, so I thought this would be a good place to discuss their thoughts. I always like to hear outsider's perspectives.
  17. Danzig - I agree. I think there is too much weird down time with this system. Managers go out every time there is a close play. Look back at the dugout and then go back in. I agree they need replay, but this way is not great. That said, we have to be patient and let them iron out the kinks. Managers too. Segura was out, but i agree that you mind as well just challenge at that point in the game.
  18. Ok, this is just my opinion, but this is what I thought during the game. I guessed we wouldn't see Wang because of the wind today. In a normal game, up 6, he would have gone in there. I think there was too much potential there to have a few things go wrong and then him serve up a bomb and then all the sudden they are back in it. I was hoping to see him today, but I actually think it was smart not to throw him out there. I'm hoping we get him out there soon though, the bullpen needs to spread the love a little more. Other thoughts. Duke is bad. Braun is good. I like having a guy like Reynolds on the team who can hit a ball hard at any point. This team is really exciting me. I'm already fired up for tomorrow!
  19. Time for Lohse to settle in here, throw some strikes....that the ump will call.
  20. Ha that was a huge HR. Reynolds really hit that ball hard, glad it worked out for him.
  21. That was a full extension by Braun. Huge play!!!!!! Going to need the pen today!
  22. Tim Kurkjian keeps saying, watch out for the Brewers. I don't know if this is good or a curse. But I'm taking it as positive, so I'm throwing it in here!
