  1. Great responses! I don't think we are hypocritical, as long as we aren't acting like Braun's cheating was some how not as bad as some other player's. These are the types of responses I was hoping to hear from Brewer fans. I think we were mostly cheering for the right reasons. It was my instinct, without any thought being put in to it, to say, glad to have you back in the lineup. I agree, I forgive, I won't ever forget really, but I'm good with cheering him on. He has plenty of people that will always be against him. Can anyone shed some light on the whole story about the tester guy he went after and supposedly "ruined his life?" I feel like people out there make a lot bigger story out of that than it was, but I really don't know much about what all has gone down since the news first came out.
  2. Guys have tried that in the past here and there. Usually the guys that get a huge shift put on them are paid to hit for power. They also typically aren't good at bunting because they have never really been asked to. I think it could be a good move here and there, but I don't think it's something they should continually do. I believe Prince dropped a few down in his day.
  3. Wow, this is getting a lot of pub in the national media. At the time it happened, I was just excited he was back in the lineup. The more I thought about it, the more I wondered what should the crowd have done. I'm not saying they should have booed him, that wouldn't have happened. I just don't know if giving him a standing O sends the right message. It's ok to cheat and lie, we love you. Or was it like I was feeling at the moment, glad to have you back. I know he paid the penalty and most of us made our peace over the off season. Just curious what all the rest of you homers (me included) think. For the record, most of the national media said it was to be expected from a home crowd.
  4. I don't know what to think right now but I think I want to give him praise for going with K Rod. I also do think he knows that when Henderson is pitching well and closing, our bullpen is much better off. I think it was a proactive move and I hope he follows through with getting Henderson back in there when he's back to himself. I also hope Henderson gets back to being himself!!!!
  5. Man intense win today. I was really confused with the bullpen use but looking back I think I'm cool with it. K Rod looked good and if Jim isn't right, I like RRR realizing that and holding off on using him. Great start.
  6. Badgers sliced that zone up. Great poise, passing and shooting. Awesome win.
  7. Obviously it would be the pickled red mullet. That's a thing!
  8. I do think if we are playing well, they will be looking for other 1B options, especially if we are struggling there. Remember, there is a full season of baseball ahead of us, so anything can happen. As I and a few others stated, it's an upgrade of some sort and it doesn't affect us next year. I think those are two positives to take from this.
  9. My bracket is all jacked up!!! I'm usually pretty conservative with picks....this is not the year. I still have my final four teams, so I'm hoping, if I get them all right and pick the champion, I still have a shot in my pools!
  10. Man, I really want to but not sure I can swing it. I'm really jealous that you will be there for two games! Do you live in the Boston area?
  11. First, I'm not sure Overbay is the right choice for the other 1B. That said, I think a majority of us on this board didn't want Juan as our 1B when we discussed this in the off season. I don't know if some have bought in to his spring numbers or if more people are just coming to the board to discuss. All three options were below average, so I'm really not mad. It's a short term move, which is fine, as long as they think 1B will be addressed by next year. I believe DM tried to address 1B, was left with few options, and in the end, we should be better off than last year. I guess that's all we can ask for, he tried, upgraded a little, and isn't making issues for finding someone in the future.
  12. My bad, Verne Lundquist is doing the games with Rafftery. Dangit man!!!!!!!!!!! You really got me excited. I started searching the inter-webs. Such a disappointment that he can't call these games. He was the best and took an exciting game from level 10 to level 100.
  13. Still, that is the weakest move ever. I'd go get another one, make a big scene putting it on your car (maybe some fireworks, you know, that type of stuff), and then camp out that night with a paintball gun! See if they go for it again!
  14. It's so amazing this time of year. It's non stop excitement for me with March Madness, Opening Day Baseball, and the Masters. Not to mention that the weather starts to get nice too.
  15. Wow! Watched This week's episode tonight and holy crap. I mean that blew me away. I can't remember the last time a TV show got to me like that. Not even sure I know which emotion I felt yet, but it was powerful. This season has really cranked it up a notch and I feel like I'm at the edge of my seat. Awesome stuff! I agree from an earlier post, it's great to be done with the governor. Hated that. Prison was ok for a bit but it's so much better when zombies are the main problem and they are out in the open.
  16. I read that as, DM had a budget to stick to so he didn't inquire much more than his normal homework on Garza. Then Mark A got excited and called Doug and said, what do you think of Garza, is he the type of player we would want? If he is, I'm willing to go over our original budget. Kind of like a dad shoe shopping with his kid. Dad goes, "what you think of these Jordans?" Kid says, "well they are over $80 dollars, so didn't think I could get them." Dad says, "well they are pretty sweet, don't tell mom!"
  17. Patrick425- I agree. I love finding something online and then practicing the new skill. It's awesome when it clicks! Good luck!
  18. Henderson got swooped up right before I was goin to draft him late in our draft. Who would you rather have, him or Axford? I can do a straight up trade but not sure what to do.
  19. Pitchleague- that's a great deal and really what MLB should be doing. Hats off to them and directv.
  20. I think it's the right move, whatever reason it is.
  21. My guess it's a mental thing. He's the guy who's been here, they probably want him to take some leadership and ownership of the staff.
  22. I'm not too concerned how they end up in the rotation, I'm just excited for their potential. I just think we will have steady starting pitching all year. Might bore outsiders to sleep a little, but in the end, have a chance in the final month. That's all you can ask for.
  23. Well how do you think UW does tonight against the Goofers? I really would like it if MN didn't make the tournament, just so I can tease all my friends from there. Hope the Badgers play well and stick it to them.
  24. Are you including the suburbs? I will consult my friend, who is like the Tom Colicchio of chicken wing goodness in the area! A true connoisseur.
