  1. Good post Stache. I agree, at some point, your body just can't handle it. Plus little nagging things that are hurting don't go away fully. There is no way he was running on 100% juice last year.....unless he talked to Braun's guy. "Was that a shot?" - Uncle Roman, Great Outdoors.
  2. Agreed! That was crazy. My wife actually was about to leave the room because she couldn't handle it.
  3. I think I just kind of put my head in the sand and assumed some guys would turn out to be pretty good. I'm starting to really worry that even by trading some of our good players before they become FAs that we still won't be able to fill the system up any time soon.
  4. rwa12 - I agree. I think you find the place you love, and are passionate about, and do anything you can to get your foot in the door. If you believe in yourself and you are willing to work hard, you can get there. Continue to apply to as many places as possible, but concentrate on a few companies. In the meantime, anything you can do to get any experience in your field, do it. Volunteer, side jobs, part time jobs, maybe a blog or something? Just throwing out ideas. If you can do anything to show an entrepreneurial spirit, it will help you a ton. Companies are looking for people that can take them to the next level someday, not just a person that does their job.
  5. I'm not sure if I should have started a new thread but read a few rankings of mlb farm systems and it was concerning. I know a that a lot of these rankings aren't very well researched, but are we really in trouble?
  6. How much less likely is a guy to sign when he's only 2 years from FA and playing well and starting to get paid real money? Isn't part of the team's bargaining power that a pre arby player is making minimum salary and therefore more likely to strike a deal to start getting real money? I also think that small market teams need to be a bit more aggressive with this strategy because they know they can't compete in the open market for their studs. If they guess right on a few players that are worth the gamble (less risky) they can extend a window of winning baseball.
  7. I think I'm in the camp of waiting another year but I really see both sides to this. None of us know the future, so some people's opinions will end up right and some will end up wrong. Either way, I like this kid and hope he's around for several years as a good to great SS.
  8. Brutal. I wonder if his giant chew being positioned on one side of his lip has contributed to an uneven amount of stress on that knee. He should look at positioning it in the middle and maybe consider doing it "upper" style in the future. Sorry, bad jokes. I do feel bad for him. 3 ACLs in baseball is horrible luck.
  9. Dare I say, that was two birds with one's tone. (runs away quickly and ducks the flying tomatoes) Ok that was too good! Haha.
  10. USA v Russia, Hockey...enough said!
  11. Thanks to everyone for waiting to let me post this! Preciate it. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51-ARKNOFzL._SY300_.jpg http://www.tradingcarddb.com/Images/Cards/Baseball/33522/33522-151Fr.jpg
  12. I got really excited when I read this article. Watching that video I too immediately thought of A Rod. Man I hope this ends up happening. It would be such a boost of excitement to our farm system. I love every bit of this!
  13. Man do I miss this show! I might have to start all over and soak it up again.
  14. Yep, I remember they had been included the last two years, but I wasn't sure if anything changed with the new spring training package they are offering. Also, with the added games being televised, I wasn't sure if they were trying to get some more $ by making you pay for ST games.
  15. How will the spring training broadcasts be handled. If you have a subscription, do you automatically get those? Or do you have to buy the spring training package as well? Great to hear they will be broadcasting so many of the games this year!
  16. It's easy for us Wisconsinites to say that but after living in areas that don't get as much snow, they just don't have the equipment to clear the roads. Plus drivers there turn in to complete disasters. I still laugh at it but I guess I do understand a lot better now.
  17. I feel like I'm having a hard time figuring out what I can watch on TV or Online and not ruin the primtime stuff. I work from home so I like to have stuff on, but really can't pay attention for very long. I've started to think I need to just have my TV off and wait for prime time. I guess I can do a better job reviewing what's going to be on for prime time, but I have a hard time knowing the difference from the uphill biathlon men's 1600 and the down hill crossbow biathlon 1400, and so on..... or something like that.
  18. You guys getting a lot of snow today in Southern WI? Looks like we are going to get dumped on here in the East Coast.
  19. My favorite moment so far from today is that there is a speed skater named Roman Craig.......Great Outdoors anyone? "You know what hotdogs are made of don't you? Lips and and....."
  20. I'm guessing that stems from old military competition. I actually really like that stuff. It's like slow motion down the stretch yet super intense!
  21. I like them both. I don't know if I could say which one I like better. I just enjoy intense competition. It's cool seeing people having so much pride in what they do and the countries they represent. Always a lot of cool stories too. Just really good entertainment.
  22. Boy Outlander, I have not read that before and it really makes me cringe. I'm all for second chances for people, but not only is this type of thing horrible, it also appears to be a pattern. I will have a hard time really cheering for the guy. I will prob find myself wanting to do well for the team's sake, but I won't look at him the same. I know you can't just sign guys that have never done anything wrong in there life, but if there is a pattern, I too would rather avoid these type of people.
  23. Isn't a mil here or there really irrelevant to us as fans in a one year deal? There is no salary cap and this won't effect us getting someone else later in the season. It's cool if people like to play GM and speculate on the best dollar spent, however, the money shouldn't change anything for this year right? Besides maybe brats at Miller going from $6.50 to $6.55.
  24. I'm fine with it. I thought it was going to be Gonzalez, but this is ok.
  25. Good work TooLiveBrew! Ok, so I thought I read you could watch a lot of stuff online, but when I took a quick look, I didn't see anything about that. If anyone has researched, please let me know what the options are (computer, ipad, etc).
