  1. I said before this game, if they can pull out a win with this lineup, it would be the best one of the year. Well they made it even more than that, coming from behind and winning in extras. I still don't believe it. What a start and what a team. They are the definition of a team. I hope they can keep together in tough times as well. I'm just trying to soak this all in and enjoy it.
  2. Man, I'm actually all for a rain out tonight! Get guys healthy! Or no rain and we win 10-0. Either or is fine with me.
  3. I heard an interesting stat on a baseball podcast today that Davis is swinging and missing at more pitches out of the strike zone than last year. I really can't remember the stat used, maybe chase rate? Anyway, what it comes down to is he's swinging and missing at more pitches out of the zone. He really needs to chill out a bit with swinging at everything. Kind of reminding me of Corey Hart when he was struggling maybe???
  4. I'd rather have Yuni on the roster than Weeks (not in blue).
  5. I thought we could maybe use a thread to discuss what is being done with the roster and what we think should be done. I didn't want to start a thread with the "i" word so thought this might be better! I've heard a few things, but could we actually see Braun in the lineup or pinch hit, as early as tonight? Seems too soon. I really want him to be 100% healthy before coming back. I was almost hoping he'd go on the 15 day so we could get a bench guy up. What's the latest on the other guys? ARam, Shafer, Segura?
  6. This is what I'm kind of thinking too. With so many guys out, I don't see a ton of upside this month. We really need our pitching to carry us. 15-13
  7. First of all, it's kind of amazing that we can have a debate like this, and really, all five starters are in the discussion. With out looking at any stats, I'd go with Lohse as well. He just seems like a gamer and doesn't seem like he would get rattled by a big game.
  8. Fell asleep, woke up at 3:30, checked score, WOW!!! Just read the game thread, amazing. I could feel the intensity from everyone's posts. Awesome win. Man do we need a day off and some reserves on the bench. I think Braun needs to go on the 15.
  9. Boy it sure would make me feel a lot better about this week if we could come out and win the first one tonight. Lineup looks ok, but we need pitching and defense to step up.
  10. Well said Invader. It's fun to think about, but you can't ever get upset because we really don't know the whole story. I'm happy with where we are and that we were aggressive going after this guy.
  11. Yes tough loss today. I agree, we are going to need to steal one in STL. It could be an ugly series.
  12. Topper I too was thinking that. Not joking, we may need him. Heck, throw wang out there to take some hacks!!!! Do we know what he can do? Guys need to step up today. Ugly lineup but this is a good type of game to see what guys can do. We have the series won, but a sweep with our D lineup would be great.
  13. Well another good win but boy did we pay for it. Hope everyone is alright.
  14. I've lived in places where we had to pay for a carpet cleaning when we left. That said, the people in there before us had to do it, so everything was nice and clean.
  15. This is amazing! I agree easy game last night. Made fr a fun Friday night. Go crew!
  16. I agree, Block needs a second guy, and a whole game with two would be great. I like Block, but he needs a personality in there with him. I sometimes like his dry calm way of calling a game. It sits well with me. I think it's mainly because you get a mix of him and Ueck. I love the Reds announcers, radio and TV. It could be because I lived there and would watch/listen to several of their games, but I can listen to them anytime.
  17. DVR'd, looking forward to watching it soon!
  18. I agree! That is how I watch the games and it's been awesome. For $99, it's been well worth the investment. I'm actually thinking of getting a second one for the other tv, instead of moving it from time to time. When you add in the airplay of the iPhones, iPad, and iMac, you can do so much. Great device.
  19. I agree, Anderson's days are numbered. I keep holding out hope that he either loves being a day to day baseball guy, or has an attachment to the Brewers after several years here. I know they are just dreams, but one can always hope. I'm just wondering, if he can get a flexible schedule like he has now, if he'd stick around and have the best of both worlds. Either way, I do think hearing Lepay, gives me lots of hope that he will be Ueck's replacement. That would be tremendous and the only guy who could step in and take some of the pain away from not having Uecker around.
  20. Yes it kills me. I enjoy, in theory, the team getting a day of rest. That said, I feel like I need a fix on these days. I check Brewers news, strike up a debate with friends, or get on here. Can't wait for tonight's game!
  21. Over back on topic, I really do appreciate him giving us a long stint of competitive baseball, which we didn't have forever. As fans, we can pick apart every move and every non move, but the bottom line is the baseball in Milwaukee has been really fun for awhile now. Thanks Doug.
  22. I'm glad we didn't ship any youngsters off.
  23. If the hotel was nice and there were good restaurants and maybe something that would bring people around, do you think business people would stay there when they travel to Mil? Just curious.
  24. I think about this topic quite a bit. Not only Miller Park, but all these new stadiums that were built, who will be first to build another one. It's huge business, it helps the owners a ton, and they put it on the tax payers. I'm sure it will start to happen sooner than we think. Just a prediction. I do think if Miller park can keep adding to it, like Lambeau, it could last for quite awhile. New things gets people excited for a few years. I've always wondered if they could add more of an atrium in the outfield Build it back further to the road. Maybe have a bar back there and some seating (not stands, but tables, etc). Not sure if they could do that but it would be cool. I also would absolutely love if they could build a few hotels with Bars and restaurants on the first floor. Does anyone know anything about the empty lots and the couple buildings just east of the parking lot? I would think they could put together quite the area back there and I'm sure would have no problem coming up with the money. That way you get the tailgating and also that scene. I agree I'd hate to see tailgating scene go away, but there is nothing better than being in a setting where you can walk from the game and sit down for dinner after.
  25. I feel you Deer. Being the jinx conscience fan that I am, you will note that I joined on Monday but held off posting until 'till tues, after the streak ended. Ha! Just messing around. I love good baseball talk with fans of any team. I'm sure everyone feels the same, but we appreciate the fact that you are very tactful in the way you post over here on enemy territory. It's really a pretty great group of fans over here that just like to talk and debate baseball.
