  1. Is he gonna try batting lefthanded tomorrow? Couldn't be much worse looking up there.

  3. at least he didn't GIDP, give Counsel a chance (Mr Bases Loaded, right?)

  5. Yeah DirecTV has flipped the channels. 669 is Fla2 and 656 is FSNWI. I'm getting Brewers Pregame on 656 FLA2Thanks SBS. Clueless customer support has me on hold for 10-15 minutes so far trying to figure it out

  9. I am fairly confident in a Brewer victory today... but what does that mean? 50% chance they get to celebrate in front of the home team crowd today. 50% chance they need to go on the road with a chance to celebrate in hostile territory. So, I expect to get Brewers to make the playoffs (even if it is just the one-game variety). I'm fairly relaxed today (a good Packer game will help with that), but if they play on Monday, I'll become much more afraid of the worst.
  10. Brewers would have probably still been no-hit by Lilly at the time Bush came out and turned it over to the bullpen, so I'm not sure it would have assured a victory. I still don't understand going to Bush after Sheets left down 4-0 (sure they got it to 4-3, but haven't seen much from the offense to give me confidence that they would mount a realistic comeback), wouldn't it have been better to save a fully rested Bush for a possible game on Monday and used Villanueva or DeFelice in long relief yesterday?
  11. I didn't realize his food line was so large (and generous) until reading a lengthy story on his passing in JSOnline(AP) - http://hosted.ap.org/dyna...HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT In 1982, Newman and his Westport neighbor, writer A.E. Hotchner, started a company to market Newman's original oil-and-vinegar dressing. Newman's Own, which began as a joke, grew into a multimillion-dollar business selling popcorn, salad dressing, spaghetti sauce and other foods. All of the company's profits are donated to charities. By 2007, the company had donated more than $175 million, according to its Web site.
  12. Brewerfan.net is all I need to get my Brewer info (if any other site has anything useful to read, a poster will link it here)
  13. No wonder Big Red dominated tonight, look at him... his pitching arm is like twice the size of his other arm. He definitely ate his spinach before tonight's game.
  14. Don't underestimate this line-up, if they've got an All-Star starter batting 8th, then the guys ahead of him must be really good.
  15. Just looking ahead to the weekend, to get in these games that matter just as much as those from two weeks ago, shouldn't MLB be considering also moving the Mets-Marlins games to a neutral domed site (the Tropicana appears to be open http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif )? I'm sure some of the Astros fans wouldn't mind seeing another team give up some home field advantage during the wild card chase.
  16. Maybe someone would like to post over there suggesting that Cubs fans stay away from Miller Park this weekend (or at least cheer for the Brewers) if they want to do their part in helping get their team into favorable time slots... or at least encourage their management to rest Ramirez, Soriano & all other Brewer Killers.
  17. I'll second that, especially if looking for low volume quantities to get started.
  18. I'll reiterate my suggestion when the question was asked in the IGT - after watching these guys all season, why not pull Davey Nelson (or Jeff Cirillo) out of the booth and put them in the 3B box, as they've got to have more familiarity with the current baserunning abilities of these players? Or at least move Ed Sedar over there and stick Iorg at 1B.
  19. Can someone share the short refresher course on Garth Iorg's recent coaching background? It was mostly an off-the-cuff suggestion before, but wouldn't pulling someone like Davey Nelson or Jeff Cirrillo out of the booth to coach third for the last two weeks of the season... someone who has seen these players all season and knows their capabilities when making split second decisions?
  20. That's too positive of a reply. Here's to your negative vibes NOT working. Nothing will work today!
  21. Just figured it would be easier if this thread got moved to the top of page one for the many of our IGT participants that should be on their way to a good drunk following today's game and be looking for it later (I very well could be back myself).
  22. Another couple games like today (or this whole past week for that matter), and might as well shut him down to allow for a more full recovery. Between the current performance of this team, and that we'd be ace-less without him next year, I don't see the short-term value in gambling with his long-term health.
  23. No, I actually want rluz for manager. He'll pinch hit not start Counsell and will pinch hit for Kendall late in games. He also wouldn't manage on "feeling" or go with any gritty battlers. If those are your only expectations, then 90% of this board would probably be qualified to manage http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  24. Is a day like today (or a week like the past) enough get an amnesty day to talk about something good in Wisconsin sports on this board?
