  1. Where did you hear this? It's everywhere (including mlb.com). Kind of off topic, but Manny is now rumored to go to the Dodgers for Ethier (or maybe Kemp). Imagine an outfield of Manny, Jones, and Pierre. That's just funny.
  2. Baseball is like Texas Hold 'Em poker....you've got to to be able to handle the swings
  3. Listening on the radio, it sounds like Rickie thought the ball was going to drop and the catch was pretty routine. Meanwhile, Rickie was already around 2nd.....
  4. Marlins obviously like their chances and seem to be going head first into the race. new link
  5. interesting.......... 2B Rickie Weeks 3B Craig Counsell SS J.J. Hardy 1B Prince Fielder LF Ryan Braun RF Gabe Kapler CF Mike Cameron C Jason Kendall RHP Dave Bush
  6. I'm surprised no one has commented on the latest Manny buzz... sounds like this will actually happen, per mlbtraderumors Manny to the Marlins Bay and Grabow to Red Sox Prospects (plus Hermida) to Pirates Looks like the Pirates could get quite a haul for Bay (3 prospects plus Hermida)
  7. This looks like a pretty bad deal for the Tigers. Pudge will be a Type A after this year, no?
  8. I'm looking to buy a soccer game for my Wii. Anyone have any suggestions? As I see it, there are 2 choices. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 Fifa 2008 PES is newer and looks like it got a little better reviews. This will be my first soccer game, so I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Anyone own either of these?
  9. 0.5 games out of 1st
  10. ugh, A-ram is on deck. We all know whats coming
  11. I was a little surprised Hanley didn't steal 3rd after the double. Probably would've scored on Baker's fly ball....
  12. injury delay? Soriano?
  13. Well, Hardy would still have great value at 2nd if he could play there. But Escobar needs to prove that his bat can play at the Bigs before I'm ready to hand over the everyday job to him (like I have that power, ha). That probably won't be until 2010. At least I hope the Brewers are patient with him as there is no gaping hole in the infield (though that could be argued with Weeks less-than-stellar first half this year)
  14. Wandy's a different cat on the road... at home: ERA of 2.54 on road: ERA of 4.50 Still, he's a mediocre lefty and sometimes our bats don't show up to these games (and sometimes they do, in a big way). Lets score 12!
  15. JJ is on fire right now and has upped his line to: .300/.364/.491 with 14 homers and 45 RBIs Last year was a breakout year for JJ and I did not think he'd come close to reproducing it. I thought he might top out at 15 homers while hitting around .260-.270 with an OBP of .320 this year. I know he's red hot right now (all those hard hit grounders are finding the holes instead of the infielders glove), and the above numbers will probably drop some, but he has been a perfect #2 hitter for us this year. Look at his splits this year: vs. lefties: .313/.414/.554 vs. righties: .290/.342/.468 In short, I just wanted to give some props to JJ. I had some doubts about him entering this year and now I'm really confident in him. Keep it up!
  16. What are they thinking? I guess its better than him becoming a Cardinal.
  17. I might give the slight edge to Parra. Dempster hasn't been very good on the road. And who knows maybe Bush will be brilliant at home. Even with our 2 aces going this series, I'll be happy with 2 W's. Any chance we shuffle to rotation to get Soup a start instead of Bush. Soup at home + vs. Cubs might be a good combo
  18. I went to a game there last year. Had a great time even though the Brewers lost both games (a double header. I believe Parra pitched the 1st game and Coco blew the save). We went to the zoo during the day and went to the 2nd game at night. The zoo was great (free), but parking was sort of an issue. Its not all that expensive (esp. since the zoo is free), but there just isn't a whole lot of it. If you like beer, I've been told you need to check out the Schlafly Brewery. They have a brew pub in the downtown area (though probably not in walking distance of the park). I've never been, but their beer is delicious. http://www.schlafly.com/
  19. I know. We should've just signed Kenny Lofton and played him in right (with Hart in center). Kapler could've gotten hit lefties out there for him. edit: Milton Bradley would've been pretty sweet too although the risk there is pretty high.
  20. It's not the 13th?!?!?!?
  21. Poor kid must have been scared out of her mind. Funny stuff
  22. FYI, Bonds agent is a different Borris. A Jeff Borris.
  23. If DFA'd, will anyone claim him though? If not, he'll be sitting in AAA wasting millions (although that's still better than him blowing games in the bigs), correct?
