I totally agree. I hope Laporta stays at Huntsville all year. I see him as a huge candidate to make the leap-over AAA ball straight to the bigs.

    Gamel has been MASHING!!

Gamel. I don't think anyone predicted his defense at third would be what it is right now. I admit, it's not that great, but I think he went from April 12th to just the other day without an error. His offense has been nothing short of spectacular. I am truely hoping he gets a cup of coffee in the bigs in September and shines.

I think you're right on here. They will obviously be stronger when Kazmir gets back and up to speed. Carlos Pena is a masher. I think baseball could benefit all around with a team like them (or the Marlins, or the Orioles) making a late-season charge.

How many people answering this were looking at a video game?

I would agree with that. Outside of Martin, Martinez, McCann, Posada, Mauer and Johjima I think Vinny could hang with any other catchers at the plate. I played with Rottino and have never played against him when he was behind the plate. Refining your game calling skills, picking up the nuances of catching, and keeping your bat steady is easier said than done. The above mentioned would blow Rottino out of the water for a full season behind the plate. I think it's very very easy to forget how good even the most average major league regulars are.

I think the Brewers would be bumped on this list once Gamel/Gillespie/Salome get their cred. Gamel and Gillespie should both show improved power this season getting out of the FSL....

Good for Jeffress......Let's get the suspension behind him so he can start showcasing that plus-plus fastball and get on the National big-time prospect radar again.....

Michael Brantley is WAY to low....
