  1. Both Zimmermans, and Michael Burgess. I may be satisfied with that. I would think maybe both Zimmermans and Detwiler, but I don't think they would go for that.
  2. Whatever happened to the sentiment that these guys were going to be brought up together and that we'd make an effort to keep them together? I'll say it one more time. Unless the offer is truly outstanding, dealing Fielder is a mistake.
  3. No offense, but this is sooooo untrue it isn't even funny. Fielder was a 30-100 hitter which puts him in at least the top tier in the NL. Now go and divide 18 (errors) by 1475 (total chances) and you'll get .988 (fielding percentage). What you are saying that a 1.2% chance of error negates 34 home runs and 102 RBI? That's defense overvalued.....
  4. The only thing good about a potential Hoffman acquisition would be "Hells Bells" in the ninth. Three outs (and a 1/2 hour later) when we lose 9-6 it'll be pretty easy to forget his dominance ten years ago....
  5. I know I am way in the minority on this, but I don't want Fielder dealt at all. I think most view Fielder as a hitter like his dad, but his zone judgement and ability to go the other way will make him a more successful hitter than Cecil ever was. I can live with a few more errors at first base for the type of offense Prince puts out too. I know Boras will drive hard bargains, and that may be the deciding factor for Prince leaving, but I am not sure what people are looking for in their power threat that Prince doesn't offer. And for those of you who think that James Loney has more upside than Prince, please see me in ten years.
  6. i would be totally fine with a deal involving either Hernandez or Morrow. Morrow and Halman for Prince sounds about right....
  7. I also am on the McClung for closer bandwagon. Stetter if not McClung. I could never justify the thought of paying a closer big money as they pretty much have to be Lidge/K-Rod like to justify the money. I was also never on board with signing Cordero for the kind of money or contract length he was asking for....
  8. I still am on the "Please make every attempt to sign Prince Fielder Long Term" bandwagon. I also have my seatbelt on....
  9. I don't know why no one EVER looks at Juan Pierre as an option in CF and as a leadoff man for the short-term. He's lost in a crowded outfield in LA, has the speed and (most of all) contact we've been looking for and can obviously still get to balls in CF. The only knock on his is that his arm is horrible. He could also be obtained at a premium as I believe he was under contract and I don't think the Dodgers would hesitate to send him packing to free up ANY of that salary. The guy walks, gets on base, and scores runs.....
  10. I'm not completely sure I would do Hardy for Matt Cain much less Sanchez.
  11. I would like Hardy to be dealt for pitching, sooner rather than later. One of these years Hardy just isn't going to have the three-week streak that makes his season statistically. Also, you don't deal Fielder without attempting to sign him long term. I want Braun and Fielder stacked in that lineup for eight years. I want to see them grow into their primes together. I think people are quick to forget that Prince is still very young as is Braun. Sign Prince!
  12. I think you package Hart and Hardy to get an ace. I don't think they could do this to get Peavy, as Hardy replacing Greene in SD is kind of a wash, I would also be very intrigued if a deal would be made for Delmon Young. Maybe Hardy and Hart for Young, Blackburn, and Guerra? I would be stoked with another high ceiling pitching prospect like Guerra. We can't base the future of the rotation on just Jeffress alone. Maybe Odorizzi will surprise....
  13. Cory Hart isn't the type of player who has a ceiling to win an MVP. Also, due to the depth of the OF in the NL, I don't see Hart as a perennial all-star. That being said, I can't imagine a better time to deal Hart as he is coming off an all-star year. I would not be surprised in ten years to look back and see this as Hart's only all-star appearance. You'd also think that the Brewers would learn from the Bill Hall situation as I always said they should have traded him after his 35-HR campaign a couple of years ago. Sell high....
  14. I am in shock as well. I still can't believe this. I have waited for 26 years.... Thanks to Mark Antanasio, Doug Melvin, and Dale Sveum for making this happen. What a way to get in looking back too. Braun is a complete STUD. Sabathia came up huge! Really....I don't think this has sunk in to its fullest in my brain. I keep saying over and over that "I just can't believe it".
  15. I still don't think Salome gets enough credit. He's right on Gamel's tail in RBI's and OPS.
  16. I don't think there could be a better fit than Carl Crawford, but I also realize it's a dream. He's a left-handed stick who could leafoff and play center and right. C'mon Mark A.....Open the wallet some more. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. I'll take as many hitting catchers as I can get. You'd have to think that one of Salome or Lucroy is going to be dealt. Personally, I think Salome's bat is WAY more proven. I hope he sticks.
  18. The MiLB.com article regarding Jeffress' promotion to Huntsville speculates that the move is to keep Jeffress eligible for the AFL. I sure hope he goes... I think Gindl will go to Hawaii. I hope it does for him what it did for Gamel.
  19. Rediculous numbers.... Cruz seems to be like Ben Hendrickson though, a player who can't make the final transition....
  20. I think Kendall's Thrown-Out Percentage was sub par, but he still calls an excellent game and is fundamentally solid in the other defensive areas.
  21. For sure! This would be a great chance for Salome to learn from one of the best. I don't see this happening though....
  22. I would be really, really, okay for a Bedard acquisition. I don't think the Mariners intend to let him go, but Bedard, Gallardo, and Parra does something for me....
  23. Suppan starting is a realistic dream. Soup is signed, and unless you see a taker out there, or are willing for him to eat his contract up in the bullpen, then I don't think there's many places to put him.
  24. WSSP still claiming that the talks are on, but I think they are a little behind this thread. C'mon....pull the trigger Cleveland!
