  1. Exactly. If Hiura needs to go down, he needs to go down. Expecting his temporary replacement to put up better numbers is not the goal. The goal is to have an improved Hiura for the 2nd half of this season and beyond. Guess I'm not really seeing how playing every day in AAA is going to result in an improved Hiura any more than playing every day in MLB will. He has a major league hitting coach here to work with him and access to every possible resource to improve. He was OPSing like 1.100 in AAA his last season there. He needs to learn how to hit MLB pitching, not AAA pitching. I know he's a pitcher - but look how Burnes rebounded once he got sent down. You're not acknowledging the fact that seding someone down might reset their motivation, and allow them to work in an environment with less-pressure.
  2. Agree with this totally. Give him some time.
  3. Had a thread on this last year and was BLASTED. I like Hiura, but people were so in love with the bat they weren't seeing the rest of it. You were? http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=39282&hilit=hiura&start=20 (Threads can be on different mediums most notably and recently Twitter)
  4. Had a thread on this last year and was BLASTED. I like Hiura, but people were so in love with the bat they weren't seeing the rest of it.
  5. I honestly forgot all about Clint Coulter.
  6. I have to be honest here. Some of the trade ideas in this thread have WAY too much coming back for Hader. I'd caution people to understand that other clubs don't view Hader like we do. Even with the RPOY awards. (For example, there's NO WAY ON EARTH that the White Sox would deal Andrew Vaughn even straight-up for Josh Hader)
  7. I'm excited actually. He's still relatively young and that bat would play up in MP.
  8. I agree with a lot of those players! I'd feel more comfortable with Cron over Frazier but fine with either. As long as Teheran is added and it's not the only pitcher.
  9. Realistic Wish List Right Now: Keuchel, Teheran, Cron
  10. I don't see the Astros trying to deal that type of talent for prospects.
  11. I'm really hoping they look at C.J. Cron.
  12. I know it's a lot, but I am currently on the Keuchel 3-years / Teheran 3-years train of thought. Get them both and I'm fine with three years a piece.
  13. What is going to get ugly? Who cares what the Reds do? They have proven absolutely nothing besides the fact that they operate like a rudderless ship. First, I care. They're in our division. Second, they seem to be getting the pieces they need and we're not. Third, they are in direct competition with us on starters. Assuming we're out on a pitcher like Strasburg (Yankees interest) and Cole, and now that Wheeler's gone the other impactful SP's will dry up. Yes, I'm a little worried right now.
  14. This is going to get ugly quick if the Reds sign Bumgarner.
  15. I just don't know how else anyone plans on obtaining a #1 or #2 we need to make a serious push without planning on the late-season winning-streaks and pitching snafus we saw last season. I'd say try to get Urias - but the Dodgers would say no. It's the only fit I can think of. Edit: Julio Urias, obviously.
  16. The offense is already hurting badly w/o Moose, Grandal, no 1B, and you want a much weaker hitting 2B. McKay may pan out to be a decent starter or may be a long man type. But with the severe lack of offense the Crew would be looking at 5th in the division. No thanks. I appreciate it....all I'm saying is I don't know how else you get to a frontline starter in this market and that it's close. Frankly I can't think of a better one-for-one swap but I'd love to hear hypotheticals.
  17. Think about it. It makes at least some sense as McKay if his bat would show up also plays 1B.
  18. With Urias coming I think you have to. For example: Keston Hiura for Brendan McKay Who says no? McKay, a promising starter would be best suited in the NL where his bat would also show when he started. Hiura, a terrible defender needs to DH. I'd be open to hearing what others think a potential offer would be. I know people already started to fall-in-love with Hiura but you have to acknowledge his realities.
  19. I love Yelich but I would pull the trigger on that in a second. Shame the Astros wouldn't though.
  20. McCalvy tweeted this.... "Brewers GM David Stearns says he thinks he still has a move or two in him before Tuesday’s deadline."
  21. People, PLEASE for the love of god stop bringing up the possibility that Machado would sign an extension. This is never going to happen and just creates false-hope.
  22. I actually think Andrus makes a ton of sense.
  23. There is no way the Rays are going to move Snell. He has to be up there with the most untouchable young arms in the game.
  24. Good idea. I do wonder if any of the Twitter imitators are posters here. The guy posting the Stroman stuff yesterday had your posting style down, but he got carried away trying to get people excited before finally coming clean. And even after he admitted he was a fraud, there were still people begging him for updates! There's always going to be doubters and skeptics. Some of those people are going to be haters, because they let frustration combine with the fact that they really have no concept of how to treat people. What you're providing is a fun, harmless outlet in what has been a incredibly slow offseason. I hope you continue to use Twitter, and this forum, to supply your posts, whether they be rumors or your own personal opinions. Of course they are. There's no way that would have spread as quickly. I can say I noticed HighHeat19's careful style and then @BrewerWorlds cocky demeanor and it didn't match. Noticed it immediately. Feel free to follow me @jordo2323 if you have any Twitter questions or anything. Glad to help.
  25. Dude is right. I can also tell you I broke a rumor once (Wheeler/Flores deal) and the bloggers went ape-****. There's a lot of jealousy there. Second, they think they're journalists - but I'm pretty sure none of them have ever broken a story. I may be wrong on that but I can say the majority of them haven't. Analyzing Jon Heyman's or Ken Rosenthal's rumors is not journalism. I'm not sure they understand that.
