  1. Sheets not likely to accept arbitration....Ken Rosenthal Reports.... http://msn.foxsports.com/...P=OTC-K9B140813162&ATT=49
  2. In a nanosecond! They won't though. Maybe if Costanza was still there....hmmm.....
  3. I would think maybe for Kennedy and Kontos?Get RID! of Suppans salary. Please!
  4. The Yankees must have been SUPER-AFRAID to offer him arbitration. What pick? There was no pick! -Seinfeld
  5. It'd be sort of sweet to see Wood beat the Cubbies in the ninth......I never thought I would hear Wood and Brewers in the same sentence.
  6. You always hear sports news sites stating clubs have been interested in the past. I say keep him unless someone would give the slightest decent pitching prospect for him. Man this year is going to be interesting...
  7. Good deal for the Braves. A truly underrated pitcher. Didn't give up Hanson, Heyward, Freeman or Schaefer. Nice job.
  8. http://sports.yahoo.com/m...cpHLsRvLYF?urn=mlb,125458 "Mets will shop for cheaper alternative to K-Rod, Fuentes" www.yahoo.com
  9. It's hard for me to swallow giving that kind of contract to a closer, but I too would probably be excited to see K-Rod in a Brewers uniform. I would also rather offer that kind of money to Sheets instead, but it does look like he's going elsewhere. I think offering that kind of money to Fuentes is a mistake. Only the utmost proven bullpen arm such as K-ROD justifies that kind of money if a closer does at all. And I was NOT on-board with offering Cordero that kind of money last season.
  10. As what? Their in-house chef? Seriously, I would pass on this guy.
  11. Baseball America article about Brewer's strong finish. Sorry if this was already posted. http://www.baseballameric...om/blog/prospects/?p=1807
  12. I know you were referring to semi-major-league-ready shortstops, but does everyone forget about Brent Brewer? He's killing in the AFL. I know he's no where close to ready, but I still believe him to be a legitimate prospect.
  13. I think you take the impatience in this thread as a good sign of overall offseason interest. Let's remember though that the open free-agency period began last Friday.
  14. I apologize if this has been posted already.... http://web.minorleaguebas...y=news_milb&fext=.jsp
  15. I may be down with Fielder for Ervin Santana. Yeah...I think I would be. Or Fielder for Santana and Peter Bourjos....
  16. I am not sold on Robertson either, but I honestly would take a glass of air for Hall at this point just to get rid of that ridiculous contract.
  17. Decent point....but c'mon, as much as I love this sport they are all kind of overpriced for what they do on a day to day basis.
  18. First, you can't just toss changeups. Hoffman isn't nearly as effective with his change as he was ten years ago because he's lost 7-8mph on his fastball. Same thing with Villanueva. To respond to Juan Cruz too, I can't justify the Brewers having to give compensation picks for a type-A for the caliber of player Cruz is - and the fact that he is a closer.
  19. I think first base is the last place on the field you want someone who is 5'7".
  20. Remember when we didn't trade Bill Hall at his high point? I have the same feeling towards Corey Hart.
  21. Fielder for Ellsbury and Bucholz would qualify as an outstanding offer for me. But I truly doubt Boston would bite. Ellsbury seems to becoming a fan-favorite in Boston and Bucholz is still holding on to the no-hitter stigma. I would be down though....
  22. A little too much for that crop, IMO. Putz is coming off of an injury, Beltre is on the downside (although a great fielder), and Morrow is young. I would do Fielder and maybe Periard and toss in Palmisano or somthing but including Gillespie rubs me the wrong way. For what it's worth, I would rather see Fielder go to Seattle than most teams though....
  23. Agreed. I just wish he (Felix) would show it one of these seasons. I realize he is totally young still, but.... You have to love Morrow's stuff though...
  24. I honestly would rather stick out the platoon or take a shot at Gamel at a lower price point.
