    What are the injured list rules for the playoffs? If we sit chourio is he under the same guidelines as the regular season in terms of days or can he be available to us toward the nlcs?

    Had you told me that Chourio was going to be our leadoff hitter to start the day I would have been really surprised and then had you told me that he would have a two RBI single in the first inning I would have had to restart my brain.

    Gasser over Myers isn't the question I don't think. We needed a 3rd lefty in the pen with the Cubs lefties. So Gasser was in consideration over Hall and Z? Miz/Patrick/Anderson over Myers would be the question.

    Random question probably not related to this thread or topic or convo.. Are we able to mute and delete threads from our feed? If I ever read a thread on my lunch break and think "that was a gigantic waste of time and I wish I hadn't used my few minutes to find some Brewers news on this silly convo and get talked down by someone..." am I able to get rid of this thread so I don't make the mistake of doing it again tomorrow? Just a random question for the mods unrelated to this thread..

    That might have been best case scenario. Had the Cubs won in a walk-off of some kind they would come in with a ton of juice. The fact that they nearly blew it and Counsell almost managed that one away is a good finish AND we probably get the worse team coming to us. Not excited for the 6million Cubs fans an hour away who now have access to our stadium ... but let's go. If this is truly the season of destiny ... this is what was supposed to happen.

    I was not at either of the two games you mentioned originally but I was at the Morgan walk off and the back-to-back HR last year. The Chourio and Mitchell home runs were out of this world fun BUT I have never experienced a euphoric deafness (if that sensation has a term) as the Morgan walk off. All I remember is hugging everybody and ending up one row in front of and about 8 seats to the left of where I was suppose to be sitting. It was kind of like a movie? The crowd goes crazy and the roar gets so loud it actually goes silent. Underwater like...

    I want to beat the Cubs. I really don't want to lose to the Cubs. I very much don't want Cubs fans in Milwaukee... all of that together makes me pull fairly hard for SD... although at this point in the season it is a pick your poison scenario.

    In 77 PA on the season with MKE - Haase hit .229/.289/.357 with an OPS of .647 and an OPS+ of 80. In 78 PA on the season with MKE - Jansen hit .254/.346/.433 with an OPS if .779 and an OPS+ of 117 Jansen was brought in to be an offensive upgrade to our backup C position and despite a disastrous start ... is exactly that. "I can't for the life of me" ... so bottom of the 9th inning we are down 1 run with guys on 2nd and 3rd and 2 outs and Ortiz is up at the plate. Your options to pinch hit are Haase and Jansen. You're taking Eric Haase?

    I'm not advocating for Seigler per se ... but his inclusion allows you to pinch hit both Jansen and Bauers at will. Mona can go play 1st if needed late and Seigler can cover the infield and obviously he can be the 3rd catcher. Lockridge makes a ton of sense for reasons stated above but Siegler does open up two of the guys who have swung the best bats as of late to be available at all times.

    Will be a close finish it seems with us and Philly. We are in STL and SD and then close against a good Reds rotation at home. Phi gets the DBacks then a couple of cupcakes in the fish and the twins who will be playing rookies. Hang onto your boots friends. Would be awesome to get out of the Cardinals series still up 3 games on PHI!.

    Latz has been a bullpen guy for Texas all season .... only has started a few games now lately with injuries. 60-70 pitches is probably what he gets ... so if we have a bit of patience we should be in to the bullpen in the 5th or 6th.

    I think about this scenario every few days or so... The likelihood of Civale getting dealt at the deadline if he hadn't spoken up in protest was still likely BUT there remains the chance that had he just bitten his tongue and toughed out a few months in a long reliever position, we probably would have found an injury with him in August to give him a vacation for a few weeks, and right now he would be eating up valuable innings to save our bullpen probably in spot starts as well as many multiple inning chances mid game. .. and while he has now found his way to a playoff team - he has limped into a 5+ ERA season and I'm guessing is now just hoping to get a major league offer next year? The domino effect is crazy..

    Does anyone have the updated stat on the Brewers record in games started by Peralta, Priester, and Woodruff since Woody came back? I can go count at some point... Just wondering if someone had it handy.

    I just mentioned to my brother that Made is on the exact same trajectory as Chourio. If Made rips up AA next year I wonder if Pratt becomes the hottest trade ticket in the league at the deadline...

    I don't know what the Brewers general plan of action is, but the general rule with pitchers is a 25% increase year over year. I've also read 25-30 more innings each year... But 25% is what I've seen the most. If we are using that formula and Miz threw 97+ innings last year... He would be topping out at < 125 innings this year... Which is just about exactly where he is after today's start.

    Miz is different man. The number of pitching prospects we've had in our team's history that are as special as him can be counted on one hand. We are not risking his arm to save Jared Koenig's, respectfully. If we are that worried about the bullpen then start Tobias tomorrow and follow him up with Carlos and tell those two they get all nine innings regardless of what happens. Patrick? Sure. Hall? Sure. Myers? Sure. Use them. Ask for more. Keep Miz on whatever program you have installed for him with reasonable adjustments given this season's circumstances. If Miz gets hurt from overuse this season and it affects his future,.. it will be an unforgivable malpractice from this front office.
