  1. The White Soz started the day something like 14th or 15th in run differential by my count and are going to end the day about 7th.
  2. ESPN Gamecast showed Busch's flyout basically in the bullpen... how close was it?
  3. I am just seeing the home runs from GM and WC on Twitter right now and holy smokes both of those were NUKED. I can't remember the last time a ball went up where Contreras just hit it.
  4. The Cubs are paying Bregman and Swanson a combined $60mil/yr or something like that to underwhelm at 3B and SS. Meanwhile the Brewers are paying Bunty and Pratt a combined $14.50/hr to beat the Cubs. It is so glorious to watch.
  5. Top of the order don't worry about it .. bottom 3 have got you covered.
  6. I really want Pratt to go like 9-14 or something this series with a bunch of slick defensive plays so Cubs fans have to be sick about dealing with him the next 10 years.
  7. Obviously ideal scenario is the Brewers sweep the Cubs with a run differential of 60 to 0. BUT I also want the Cubs to be buyers at the deadline... Hopefully we sweep them and then they win a few games heading into the All-Star break so they don't completely fall out of it. I want them dishing out a few more prospects before the summer is over if possible..
  8. I'm not saying anything as far as expectation goes... But funny this question is raised shortly after we just signed and promoted the most Robin Yount looking thing we've had in a long time... and at his position too.
  9. This isn't something I've thought about re: NBA drafts before and organizational health. How often are late 2nd rd picks bought like this? If you are a team sitting in the final 10 spots of the draft will you typically have suitors looking to buy your pick? I admittedly check out of the NBA draft after the 1st rd and then will check after to see who the Bucks grabbed or if any Badgers were selected ... but I've never paid attention to this part of it.
  10. The whole point is if I'm hungry I don't want a grapefruit regardless of cost. If you are going to upgrade the position, upgrade the position. This is a move just to make a move.
  11. Assuming I want to stand pat because I don't want to overpay for Isaac Paredes? Ok, man. Have a good day. It's like walking into a grocery store and being offered a grapefruit for $18 and when I say no the cashier says "well I guess you must not be hungry then"...
  12. I never said he wouldn't raise the talent level on the team. But if we trade for Paredes last year (or his equivalent for that team) does that win us the Dodgers series?
  13. No way brother. Our 11th best reliever isn't Trevor Hoffman and our backup catcher isn't Pudge Rodriguez and that is just poor management on our part and don't you dare try to question my rage over it!
  14. I guess I would ask you this... Fangraphs has the Brewers chances of winning the World Series currently at 9.3%. We can argue that number or whatever but for this conversation's sake ... if we acquire Paredes and it is a marginal upgrade to what we currently have (better offensively, worse defensively) ... how much does that improve our chances? .5%? 1%? So is it a good organizational decision to give up two Top 15 prospects for a <1% increase in odds? Either way we are going to win the World Series 1 out of 10 times in both scenarios .. so why give up real capital for an upgrade that is a lateral improvement of projection?
  15. Cubs sending their #13 prospect Cole Mathis to NY.
  16. So we are getting David Peterson this weekend. Peterson this year is 3-6 with a 6.09 ERA and 1.65 WHIP in 16 appearances including 8 starts.
  17. I would love to know what the cost is to buy a pick - whether earlier or later in a rd like this. What do we think MKE buying #60 from Orlando cost us?
  18. He has a little Mintzy in him for anyone who follows Barstool..
  19. Cubs swinging the bats well and Freddy on the mound tomorrow after the drubbing he took in Philly. Need him to bounce back.
  20. A little bit funny you start with a stat to support your argument then complain about people using stats to support theirs ;)
  21. This was game managing 101. Don't let Vaughn hit against Moll in any circumstance if you are Francona.
