My bad guys, it was a joke about HH19 .. sorry it didn't play. Chacin has been terrible thus far, one game against the Marlins doesn't change the season. Hopefully ASAAD didn't take it the wrong way. My apologies! Go Crew!

I have limited knowledge on the guy but feel like he is the right handed version of Eric Sogard with a bit more position versatility and better defense. In theory, he eliminates the need for both Sogard and Perez on the roster. Keep Aguilar's bat for good, bring up Saladini for defensive reasons... you can cut ties with the other two and being up another reliever.

I think there is pressure sometimes on managers, etc because if you have an established closer who you are paying a bazillion dollars ... the casual fan base and others will expect that guy to be in there to finish games and, in theory, that guy should be your most dominant reliever so your trust to put him in there is constant. HOWEVER With Knebel out this is a great experiment and I love that it has happened twice in a row now. The Brewers have multiple guys who can be dominant on a given night (Hader, JJ, Barnes, etc) As was mentioned above, if one of them comes in in the 8th and is throwing well (in theory that means he didn't throw a lot of pitches to get through the inning) ... don't burn another 'good' arm in the 9th. Let the guy finish and save the pen a bit. I love the thought. Let's see if the practice proves the theory.

You also have to remember the mad fan is going to post much more often than the happy fan. If someone hates Villar and doesn't see him in the lineup he/she will mentally high five him/herself. If they see Villar they fill with rage and feel the need to make their opinion known. Just the way people are wired..

I checked and 4 of his now 7 HRs this early season have had a man on. Now if we could only get TWO men on for him... I didn't bother looking ... I just assumed he had gotten at least 1 RBI this year that wasn't via a HR ... but I guess not!

Because sports fans are the ultimate "what have you done for me lately" mob. If Guerra gets hit around a little bit in his next start a nice sized group of people will be calling for him to be sent back down to give the next guy a chance. Santana hasn't wowed in his start this season ... that's all it takes for some to get bored/lose patience.

I just love that someone was on base for once. Thames hit a crazy amount of solo home runs last year and given only 11 RBIs to go with his 7 HRs this year ... it is nice to have someone along for the ride this time. Good job Eric!

This Brewers team is hurt and scuffling at the plate... but this looks like a team that just needs to hang on until Nelson/Knebel are back. Stick around .500 until July 1 and then turn the engines on. Win your series at home and try to split on the road. It will be (hopefully) great to see our opening day outfield today. Get this one fellas!

As someone who played baseball at UW-Superior where 40 degrees is balmy for a spring game, I’d agree. I never saw a player for us wearing the face masks either. I have a hunch you were not raised in Venezuela or the Dominican Republic either...

Haha, I come on these threads to get in info on specific plays that I miss and also to laugh at the volatility of this board's temperament. I have a friend who I can't watch games with because they overreact to everything. Braun singles up the middle "Nice, Braun is such a professional hitter!" .. then two innings later strikes out "This guy is hot garbage without PEDs" .. You guys are awesome.

Random note, seeing Shaw made me curious how Thornburg is doing. Looks like he hit 95 on the gun in rehab recently ... still a bit away from action. With all due respect to an injured player ... what a trade that one has turned in to thus far.

I am not sure there is anything stopping them as far as rules go. I wonder if there are any recent examples of a team having a permanent/same rotation of guys from AAA/MLB to cover a pitching spot and results from it? That is pretty taxing on the player I would think... a lot of added pressure. I would think right now Guerra is going to get another start to prove his first wasn't a fluke. If he fails Woodruff might come back? At that point Woodruff probably puts a ton of pressure on himself to pitch well because it he doesn't he is gone again, etc. Guys should always strive for their best, but the added stress of team security will start to toll I would think. I'm not for or against the idea .. just thinking out loud.

The Brewers are funny. 3rd worst run differential in the NL .. but some cardiac offensive saves have us with a few wins above what it should be. Could steal another tonight that we really shouldn't have... We are giving ourselves a chance if we can sort things out. These early season wins (steals) will be awesome come later season.

Eric Sogard has a higher slugging percentage than Scooter does this year. Honestly, I don't give season statistics any real credence till a month into the season. Yet our 2nd base situation is looking rough THIS YEAR. Come on.
