He didn't overreact at all. He didn't say Braun sucks and we should release him. He even said he thinks Braun will be fine. He simply asked if Braun hypothetically nosedived in production over the rest of his contract at which point they would cut bait if ever. If Braun started the season 9-18 with 3 HRs and a .600 OBP this question would never have been asked. It was asked because he has started slow. When is the correct time for Milwaukee to DFA Christian Yelich? Jimmy Nelson? Why aren't those fair questions?
The Brewers' last week+ has been a sloppy exhibition. To claim the Brewers have an identity of embarrassing/sloppy play is reactionary. Why is Aguilar's name on this list? Because he kicked one yesterday? Why don't we add Yelich to the list for getting hurt? That's embarrassing. What about Knebel not being stretched out enough to avoid his hamstring pulling? That was on Counsell too. The concession stand I went to on opening day was out of ketchup ... poor execution from the front office? My suggestion is to give it more than two weeks before you crucify this team.
I cannot tell if I absolutely love Tom talking in the booth with BA or if I hate it immensely. He is talking more than BA. Lot of information... talking too much?
Being more tradeable and having more trade value are two entirely different things. In no world does Keon Broxton have more trade value than Domingo Santana, with all due respect.
Sogard is a LHB crappy infielder-so CC sees himself in him. Thames should get the day off instead of Braun because of what you said and Thanes was Chris Carter outside of April last year so he doesnt need to start against all righties I need to honestly ask if you really think Counsell is starting Sogard because he thinks Sogard is the same type of player he was and therefore he feels the need to play him? If I were you I'd go look at Thames' 2017 numbers again. His July numbers were very good and his September numbers were great. His OBP last year against RHP was .378 ... if you want your lead off guy to be someone who gets on base - he isn't a terrible choice.
That is about as left handed as we go (see: Vogt) I always want Arcia in the lineup but this isn't the worst spot to get Sogard a start. A bench of Braun, Aguilar, Arcia, Perez, Bandy is pretty silly. Let's go Jhoulys!
