  1. Just out of a meeting and I see the tickets have been exhausted. Really cool gesture from MC to give back and hopefully fill the stadium a bit more with some noise and energy. Every series from here on out is really important - but helping to fill the stadium on a Mon-Wed during the thick of the race is a cool way to try and help the team out. Kudos!
  2. Perez, for better or worse, has been the most consistent player the Brewers have had this year. His average has been stuck at .265 (give or take a few) since about the end of May. If Perez is in the lineup he is going 1-4 with a strikeout. 70-30 chance. Consistently great? No. Consistently gets on base at a high clip? No. But he does what he does and he does it every day. Broxton, on the other hand, is the example you are looking for.
  3. Yup. His rotation manipulation was a signal to the team that this series didn't mean anything. It's subtle messages like that destroy a team's momentum. You think Counsell made the decision to push the rotation back a day?
  4. You mean the 10 he played in? He was 2 for 2 in SB base attempts. He is near perfect in his big league career and most of those are in stress situations/games. He isn't going to hurt us by sitting on our bench. You are stressing way too hard about the 35th or 36th guy on our roster. No one said he was faster than Billy Hamilton. Breathe man.
  5. I don’t necessarily disagree with you – however Berry wouldn’t have sniffed our roster if we weren’t in the playoff mix. He has an elite tool that the others don’t. Even guys who run well like Wren have to understand the move.
  6. Wasn't all that hard of a call but this is the first thing I've gotten right all year so I would like to take credit. My next prediction is that Garza gets the Suter treatment and is pulled after 3 innings.
  7. Are we backing Garza up to pitch Wednesday? Looks like we are shoving everyone back so Nelson, Anderson, Davies go up against the Cubs... does Garza slot in to Wednesday?
  8. Ho hum 7 innings, 3 H, 0 ER, 11 K for Jimmy. Brewers have a really interesting team for a possible post season run ... Nelson, Anderson, Davies might be good enough as is Hader, Swarzak, Knebel. Dear offense .. we know you have it in you. Let's make this a magical season and please show up!
  9. Turner has stolen on everyone this year ... but after that first throw from Vogt Washington might just steal their way from 1st to 3rd every chance they can..
  10. I'm guess because Villar and Sogard are smoking hot right now and Phillips hasn't proven a lick to be handed a spot in the lineup in the pennant race. Sogard had 10 hits in August.
  11. Loading that lineup with lefties. I like giving Pina an additional day off against a righty... especially if Vogt is seeing the ball well. Curious why Sogard/Villar instead of Villar/Phillips if Phillips is available..
  12. What a blessing to this offense it would be if Villar has figured something out. That is the biggest thing I am watching for in this game...
  13. Gio is pulling out his best statistical season at age 31. He threw against us (@WAS) a little over a month ago and threw 7 innings of 5 hit, 2 ER ball. Here is to hoping we get the 2nd half version of Davies on the mound and the first half offense WITH Davies on the mound. Go Crew!
  14. Obviously this is a ballooned statement ... but probable season defining stretch here to end August. 9 game west swing against good overall competition and then home vs. the Redbirds and Nationals while the Cubs play a bunch of very winnable series the rest of the month. If we can through the rest of the month and be within 3 games of them I think it is a pretty big win. Starts tonight!
  15. Because his OBP since June 1st is above .380... False. Yep, my bad. I added May's walks instead of August's.. sorry boys.
  16. Because his OBP since June 1st is above .380...
  17. Obviously, every game is a big one if you are hoping to compete for a playoff spot… however the biggest theme the rest of the way is we have to win series. We can’t keep dropping 2 of 3 and this is obviously amplified against those who are also trying to stay in the playoff picture. On paper, tonight’s game is the one to get in order to win the series. Wacha has been throwing well, up against a spot starter tonight, etc. So yes, long winded way of saying I agree… tonight is a nice one to get 
  18. The Jeremy Jeffress Brewers are 1-0.
  19. blazek, peralta, milone, feliz, espino, marinez, drake, barnes, torres, scahill, hughes, knebel, suter, hader… lesser extent for webb, jungmann, wang, goforth, lopez I would argue the 2017 Brewers have been the epitome of bringing guys in to offer them a chance to prove they have value as a bullpen arm.
  20. This kills me about fans. A bit different in MKE verses Green Bay but Packers fans go bananas when we don’t sign X player and the fact is that Green Bay is not even a consideration for a lot of NFL players because of location. Same thing with negotiations. A lot of people are offended right now that Stearns isn’t pulling the trigger on all of these deals… when 99.5% of us have no idea what kind of conversations he is having. For all we know, Stearns was on the phone with Oakland seeing what we could substitute in a package instead of Brinson … some intern walked up and said “Hey, Texas is on the phone and they said we could have Jeffress back for any pitcher having a good season above A ball.”.. Stearns put his hand over the mouthpiece on his phone and shooed the intern away saying “Yeah, that’s fine … don’t give them any of our top 25 pitchers.”.. then went back to trying to reasonably acquire Gray. But the spin some fans will put on it is “JJ?!?!? Great, this is the moneymaker! World Series Bound! Way to waste our time Stearns!” WE DON’T KNOW SO WHY BE MAD.
  21. .. and that would have fixed our bullpen problems? Knebel has been great. We needed to replace about 5 guys... not 1.
