  1. It is a lottery ticket as others are suggesting but I’m low key very excited about this. Jeffress has more or less proven that the struggles he faces are mental/psychological and for obvious reasons Milwaukee is a safe place for him. It was merely 12 months ago that he was an top end reliever. I see the avg velocity on the decline the last few years … but I can’t believe half of his struggles are not mental. What a great story if he can solidify the bullpen again.
  2. Kudos to Texas I guess for admitting defeat and moving on but wow did that trade last year not end well for them.
  3. How would you feel about trading for a guy in another team's system who is at AAA who is 5-1 with a 2.09 ERA, just under 1 strikeout per inning and opponents hitting under .260 off of him?
  4. I mean, it could be. But getting Chase Anderson back is a pretty big acquisition. Chase being added back to the mix plus Guerra being replaced is a fairly decent upgrade to the rotation. I actually think the biggest change from the first part of the season to this recent hiccup has been the offensive production at 2B. We all thought Sogard was going to come back to earth but I think the hope was Villar would wake up in time to transfer. The “first inning Brewers” we got accustomed to haven’t been there the 2nd half. The biggest help to the Brewers the rest of the way via trade may very well be Ian Kinsler and not an arm. They could be the "first inning Brewers" if Counsell would stop batting Villar leadoff. That's a leadoff out almost 75% of the time. I don't disagree with you.

  6. Matt Garza (health pending) now looks like a $5 million steal for a #5 starter next year. What a difference a year makes.
  7. blazek will likely burn his final option unless recalled to replace an injured player. optioned today; paolo espino recalled. some way, some how, wily peralta survives. Stearns is working out a trade.
  8. Not to mention we would be beating their acquired help. There is a lot of psychology riding in tonight's game too moving forward.
  9. I think Lewis Brinson makes his official introduction to baseball tonight. Go win us a game.
  10. Has anyone watched him throw this year? Is his velo down? Why has he been unsuccessful? Milwaukee is his safe place and I would love to think him coming back here is all he needs. He was so good during that stretch with us. Give them Wily straight up.
  11. How about this proposed trade: Mets get: Maverick Phillips Brewers get: Curtis Granderson, Jacob DeGrom, Bobby Bonilla’s remaining contract
  12. I think Stearns is just punishing the Brewers for yesterday’s game. It is just an open threat. “You guys play terrible, I’ll bring in Curtis Granderson. I’ll do it! If you embarrass me against the Cubs this weekend …. I’ll bring in Shane Victorino too!. Shape up!”
  13. We need more guys like you around here. Still think so? I'm confused. I shouldn't compliment optimism or general positive banter?
  14. Blazek's ERA is over 2 full runs less than Scherzer’s. We got this today.
  15. “Hey Blazek, you ever swung a bat before? No? Ok, cool. That’s Max Scherzer on the mound. I’d suggest choking up a bit. Good luck.”
  16. There he is. Missed you man. Was waiting all day for you to chime in.
  17. That absolutely could be true. If no move is made though, I'm curious what makes the start tomorrow. I doubt a new acquisition would be able to make it to DC to make the start so quickly if a trade happened tonight. Minor league options that line up best are Espino and Burnes. It's almost certainly Espino, but a guy can dream right? Wouldn't Suter make the start tomorrow? He'd be on regular rest. The problem is the weekend series vs. the Cubs. Do they really want to go with Guerra and some rookie in the first two games of the biggest series in 3 years? Because of what you just said I would hope Suter gets held back a day and we only have one uncertainty for Chicago instead of 2. Throw a new guy tomorrow against Washington. *edit* Just reading the posts above me. Looks like Blazek tomorrow, Suter Friday. I'm ok with that I think!
  18. I agree with you on the last part. Phillips and Villar are on hug watch tonight.
  19. "My God! That's Brandon Woodruff's music!!!!"
  20. This thread has actually been really fun and funny. Sports matter to people.
  21. Lmao! Then please stop putting our good players or top prospects as your avatar! BAAAAAD JOO JOO!! Wily Peralta please.
  22. I’m gonna need McCalvy to do a head count for me and tell me who is missing…
  23. Where is that Cubs fan on Reddit that broke the news of the Quintana trade 12 hours before any news outlets got it when you need him...
