On the main boards we had talked earlier this year about what numbers constitute a real 3TO player... and arbitrarily came up with 50% roughly as a watermark. Schwarber leads baseball in HR and K this year and his HR/BB/K ratio to his PA is 56.5% .... which is crazy. In Appleton this year Fischer was at 59.8% and in his 15 games in Biloxi that has climbed to 63.9%. Special stuff. However you want to define special.

You know ... I just saw the replay of the Chourio hit in the 11th for the first time. You hear these things called on the radio or you just see the gamecast and you create your own visual of what happened... I was not ready for the actual footage. What in the laugh out loud emoji was Thompson doing?

I do have an issue with the auto-pinch running Perkins for Vaughn thing. If the Brewers have the lead and the defensive move is inevitable, fine. But if we are tied, I don't think we are playing the correct percentages - especially in a non-steal situation. At least not initially. Perkins for Vaughn from 1st increases the chances of scoring on a double by a good margin - but the chances of a double being hit are low single digits? So the amount of doubles Perkins will score on compared to Vaughn PLUS the low chance a double is hit is probably something like a 1-2%ish chance of the move being necessary? Now if Vaughn reaches 2nd, I am ok with the pinch runner because scoring from a single AND the likelihood of a single being hit are much higher probabilities. I also understand going 1st to 3rd, etc. I can't say for certain if PR Perkins for Vaughn immediately like they are doing has produced the necessary result to make it the right move yet this year. But we now have a data point (tonight) where pinch running him did not alter us scoring, did not alter the defense the following inning, and DID take an at bat away from Vaughn with a chance to win the game later. Sorry, that is a lot of typing. Main point, let the situation breathe a little before auto pulling Vaughn in those spots. We have more options than we think? Am I wrong?

If Boeve is finally healing/has finally healed from his injury... he might be the answer at 3B?! Two years ago he was flying through the system and we thought he wasn't far from a 40man spot back then... then the injury took a year from him.

This Cubs game has been a joy to follow along with thus far. Maybe a silver lining to Peterson's start against us is that it bought him a month or more that they will stick with him..

Does anyone have any inside info on Manfredi? Does he still sit 97-98 coming out of the pen like he did in Appleton? His strikeout #'s are good and lefties are struggling against him ... but walks seem to be an issue throughout his short career thus far. If he can settle in at AAA I wonder if he is a Koenig replacement as soon as next year? -
It might be a great time for Yelich to have some soreness in his lower back again. Take the next few weeks and the AS break off. Let Vaughn and Bauers trade off the DH spot. Bring up Quero for 2 weeks so we can pinch hit Sanchez at will or Black if you want to keep the bench option a lefty. Come back in a good mindset for the dog days Yeli. Rest up.

Congrats to Braylon Owens! Probably the most logical pitcher to make the move up right now from Appleton. The Brewers seem to have done well with their middle round college arms in the past few drafts. Lots of positive momentum with a lot of them.. Owens is the next in that line. -
It's like someone a week ago pulled Mitchell aside and said "hey you know you can hit to left field too, yeah?" .... and the light bulb clicked and now Mitchell is the best hitter in baseball.
