  1. I think it is acknowledged on this board by most that the in-game threads are the most toxic place here and it is a proceed with caution type of situation to go through them... I truly wasn't trying to stir anything up by commenting on it. The Brewers have struggled as of late and I thought I'd come home to an in-game thread that was more of a sigh of relief than anything else with the pitching performance from the starter plus a couple of timely hits by some guys that have been struggling, etc. That wasn't how I read through it and I was simply mentioning I was surprised.
  2. Which is wonderful but a fan expressing frustration is certainly not positive energy? Which brings me back to the original comment I made that the thread had a negative tone to it, which was surprising given the outcome of the game. If you think fans being angtsy and expressing frustration is positive energy then I acknowledge your opinion and we can move on from it.
  3. I don't disagree with the struggles and concerns. I appreciate you agreeing it was a negative leaning game thread; that was my only observation.
  4. Generally speaking, I don't get too upset over things I can't control. Admittedly it would bother me if I thought Ashby, etc were doing it on purpose.
  5. So you disagree with me that the thread was overall negative, but then agree with me that the first part of the thread was negative and that the ending of the thread is negative.
  6. I didn't see any bridge jumping today either. That was the last couple of days. I'm just saying the thread was still sad or negative in tone with what was overall a really good day of baseball!
  7. Dang, I was at the game and I thought I'd check in on this thread now that it's over, thinking that it would be a nice reprieve from the normal sadness that the in-game threads provide. Somehow a 5-0 win still had an overarching negative tone other than the talk about Harrison.
  8. Was Adams the primary CF in Biloxi? Are we not certain it won't be Payne who gets moved up first if someone does move?
  9. I'm not an expert on weight distribution through the swing ... but Payne seems to be heavy on his front foot at contact? Can someone who watches swing mechanics more comment on that? His home run yesterday it almost seemed like his back foot was off of the ground at contact. Just an observation.
  10. This is the one thing I think the entirety of the board will either be fully or partially or superstitiously behind. Don't want them back.
  11. Paul Skenes has a perfect game through 5 innings at American Family Field. The megaphone is coming out soon.
  12. We have work ahead of us for sure. We currently have a lineup of plastic bats and our relievers are scuffling. That first thing should fix itself hopefully with injury returns. The other thing is the worrisome one.
  13. Just in case others didn't see this ... Paul Skenes is perfect through 4 innings.
  14. Well, they wouldn't have to. They would need to win more than 60% for the entirety of the season. So NOT winning 3/4 of their games throughout the summer but winning a larger portion of the other games would accomplish the same goal.
  15. *yawn* If we didn't lose 3 of our top 5 hitters to injury we would likely be 4 to 5 games over .500 right now outpacing last year's win total.
  16. The Pirates have 3 guys in their lineup hitting under .200 - who could have known. Have been led to believe we were the only ones...
  17. I started the thread and I forgot to update yesterday.. I made the trip out to Detroit. Just bought a ticket in the nosebleeds then walked around the park the entire time. I thought it was a great stadium.
  18. Sean Wright thinks Tyler Black is on his way up. I would assume a Greg Jones swap if true? I had assumed if Black wasn't hurt a week ago it would have been him over Jones.
  19. Hopefully our handling of Skenes from last year continues into this one...
  20. I agree with you on that. The game and series was there for the Brewers to take. Just earlier in the thread someone had mentioned it being a cardinal sin or something that Turang wasn't running on that 3-0 pitch and I'm just not sure that is accurate. The only way the offense scores on a double steal attempt from a 1st and 3rd situation is because the defense makes a mistake, not because the offense executes correctly.
  21. You may be being a little too dismissive of an opponent's ability to defend a 1st and 3rd situation. It sounds like you are assuming if the catcher throws to 2nd the Brewers would have the option of trading an out for a run. If it is defended correctly however, the Tigers would be giving the Brewers the option of which runner they want removed from the basepaths.
  22. Tip of the cap to Brady Ebel. The anchor is up and the sail has finally caught some wind... now let's be on our way.
  23. Hard to compete against the best pitcher in baseball with this lineup, right boys? ;)
