  1. Here is a link to the foul, I would hesitate to even call a foul on the play. It was a 50/50 ball and he wasn't late and didn't even get the guys ankle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbteeRuMFBE Michael Bradley is one of the few guys on the national team that can actually possess the ball, he is easily been one of the better more consistent players on the U.S. squad over the last half year or so. TooLiveBrew, I agree it was pretty obvious that Spain outplayed us by a lot, the US defenders and Tim Howard did a great job of packing it in, and taking advantage of counter attacks. To add to the description of the off-side rule, you have to be past the half field line to be considered off-side, and when they consider if your off-sides it is when the ball is played.
  2. Didn't that guy just say that his friend told him about the Amare trade, I don't think he came up w/ a link. If we could get Amare for that package sign me up.
  3. Great win, it was truly amazing that Spain didn't score w/ all the chances they had. I agree that was a horrible call on Bradley, he will be missed a lot in the final.
  4. Kurt Thomas averaged 18 minutes a game last year and 23 the year before for the Spurs, isn't that considered a good role player? Malik Allen is an awful player, I'm not sure if you have seen both of them play recently but Thomas is much better.
  5. I agree, Bowen is definitely not worth keeping, he is really bad.
  6. The #1 pick that year was basically between Bogut and Marvin Williams, and I think every team in the lottery was thinking that way, I don't think that it had anything to do w/ TJ Ford. I also think you are underrating Sessions, he was a very good player for the Bucks last season and he is still very young.
  7. I like the trade, Kurt Thomas is a major upgrade at pf/c if he plays for us. Oberto and Bowen will probably be released and that gives the Bucks some financial flexibility to hopefully sign Sessions, and maybe even Villanueva or Ilyasova. I wasn't overly impressed w/ Jefferson, although I think he will be a good fit w/ the Spurs. I think Mhah a Moute and Alexander(fingers crossed that he actually improved) will do fine filling in for him. Now I'm hoping they do one more move to clear some space, maybe Redd to Washington or a Ridnour trade.
  8. I would be ok w/ Jennings, Holliday or Flynn. I think they all could be good pros w/ Jennings and Holliday having the biggest upside. I've heard they have Jordan Hill at the top of their draft chart, which concerns me a little bit because of how clumsy he looks in his clips, although he does have good numbers and size.
  9. I think Hansborough will go before #20, especially since he measured at good size for an NBA PF and showed good athletic ability in his workouts. I think at the very minimum he will be a solid starter and probably right away. I'm not sure if it would be possible, but I would love to see us trade down a few spots and try to lose some salary while still being able to draft him.
  10. In Chad Ford's recent mock draft he has us taking Johnny Flynn from Syracuse. I'm kind of hoping we end up getting Psycho T or Blair, I think both will be good players.
  11. You would have to think that it is really close to happening if this many people are getting inside info.
  12. Why can't you mention the name of the player that was mentioned? I don't understand how that would affect anything.
  13. Thats the first thing I thought of also Luke, I think Jermaine Dye would be a nice addition to our lineup. It would be interesting to see that happen when we play them this weekend. I would like to see Dotel included in the deal.
  14. So is the draft over now, or do they have a day 3?
  15. Very exciting news! Brian, does that mean he has a trade worked out, or he is working on something?
  16. Here is a nice interview w/ Hiram Burgos, he sounds like he could also be a great prospect. He throws his fastball in the 90-92 range, and has 5 pitches that he throws for strikes. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/college/weekend-preview/2009/267644.html
  17. Sounds like Brooks Hall could become a very promising prospect, he is 6-5 has a great slider and throws his fastball in the 90's. I like the pick.
  18. BrewPackBuck, sorry to nitpick but Escobar was only 21 in his full AA year, he is 22 this season.
  19. The Wizards could trade the expiring contracts of Mike James, Etan Thomas, and Brendan Haywood. They also have some other contracts that they could deal in Songalia, Stevenson and Jamison. The definitely do not have to trade Caron Butler to get one of RJ or Redd.
  20. What about if it was Braun and Bengie Molina for Jose Reyes and Russell Martin?
  21. So when does Anundsen get the bump up to Huntsville?
  22. I think Angel Salome and Mike Rivera will handle catching duties next year. Salome has struggled out of the gate at AAA offensively, but judging by statistics he has improved defensively. He has started to heat up recently, and I think he is still on track to be our starting catcher next season. Although I wouldn't be suprised at all to see Kendall brought back.
  23. I am in a 16 team Head to head points league, and I was wondering what side of this trade you think is better? Keep in mind that you get to keep 2 players each season. Ryan Braun, Chipper Jones, and Elvis Andrus for Miguel Cabrera (Elig at 1b/3b), and Jose Reyes.
  24. Thanks for the advice guys! I'm not exactly going from 0-26 in 19 weeks. I've been running pretty much my whole life to train for soccer, and that includes usually running about 3-5 miles a couple of times a week for the last year or two. I know it might be too difficult to do a full marathon, but I plan on training for it and making sure that I slow down if I feel my body can't handle it.
  25. I have always wanted to run a marathon, and I am seriously considering running the one in Ashland on October 10th, and I had a few questions for the runners out there. I play soccer competitively, I have games on Sunday's and practice at least once a week. Is that going to be a problem w/ the training? What steps should I take to get started? Where do I find a good training program, and is from now until October 10th enough time to train? I would also appreciate any other helpful tips that you have for me, as I have never ran a race before.
