  1. I would like a chance at the Prince bobble, my daughter who was born less than a week ago is a huge fan and would love one for her room! Thanks again Pedro.
  2. With Braun's health issues I think we could do a lot worse than having Jenkins as insurance to fill in left field.
  3. I really hope they start Wooten in AA this year, to see how he does against better competition, he seems like he overmatches hitters in the lower levels.
  4. Pedro Martinez?
  5. Dana Eveland and Nelson Cruz also have a good chance at being solid major leaguers that we've traded.
  6. He might have made it, but I don't think it would have been a guarantee.
  7. There is no way that a healthy Michael Redd is a top 20 player, I would even argue that Bogut is a better player, and the way Villanueva is playing he might also be better. Kobe, Lebron, Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, Dwayne Wade, Yao Ming, Steve Nash, Amare Stoudamire, Tim Duncan, Boozer, Deron Williams, KG, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Granger, Gasol, Roy, Bosh, Nowitzki, Carmelo Anthony are all better, and I could keep going for a while. I think top 40 might even be pushing it.
  8. I'd rather not trade Bill Hall either, but how do you figure Mat Gamel is going backwards? I know he was late to practice a couple of times, and he started out spring training slow, but the man is recovering from an injury and just had a baby. I'd recommend you give him more than a couple of weeks of spring training before you start giving up on him.
  9. Why trade for a guy like Endy Chavez when you could probably get Edmonds for less money, and w/out having to give up a player.
  10. I'm guessing 95 wins, and Prince and Braun both finish in the top 5 in MVP voting.
  11. Mark Rogers hasn't pitched in 2 years, and has never pitched above A+ ball, I'm fairly sure Carlos Villanueva is a little bit ahead of him and he won't be closing for the crew this year.
  12. Wow, thats quite a nice compliment by Melvin, I was a big fan of Terry Steinbach, he was a very solid catcher.
  13. On jsonline today, there was an article talking about how David Riske is fully recovered from his elbow injury. I think they are just trying to get the deepest bullpen possible, which I'm very happy to see. Here is the link... http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/39694332.html
  14. I really hope the Brewers are looking to sign Edmonds, personality aside, I think he would be a perfect fit as a 4th outfielder/pinch hitter. However I'm thinking his attitude might have something to do w/ teams not showing any interest.
  15. According to Jeff Passan from Yahoo, the Brewers are one of the three teams that have interest in Juan Cruz. If we somehow got him or Chad Cordero, our bullpen could be outstanding. McClung Stetter Riske Villanueva Cruz/Cordero Hoffman
  16. Raef Lafrentz has a huge expiring deal (13 million), and we wouldn't have to pay for the rest of his salary this season because he is injured and insurance would cover it. Travis Outlaw is an athletic 3/4, that has been playing well as of late, from what I've seen of him he can bring instant offense, but is not a good passer. Sergio Rodriguez was Portlands 1st round pick in 06' and is a 23 year old pg from Spain who is thought to be a pretty good pg prospect. The great thing about this deal is that it would allow us to resign Villanueva and Sessions, and possibly Ersan Ilyasova, who is playing great for Barcelona in Spain. I would love for this deal to happen, even w/out the 1st round pick. It would definitely benefit both teams.
  17. Is he only working out at 2B, or is he also working out at catcher? Also, have you watched him and how does he look? I would love to hear a report on who is standing out at the minor league camp and making a good impression.
  18. The Clippers have no reason to trade Eric Gordon, he has been extrememely good for them.
  19. First of all I'm sure the Clippers have zero interest in trading Eric Gordon, second of all there is no way that we could get even Stoudamire for Villanueva, Elson and Damon Jones. That is a very lopsided trade.
  20. I stopped playing soccer for 4 years after playing my whole life and started to play again last year. It was very exciting and I was planning on playing for at least the next 10-15 years, until I got an injury called osteitis pubis. I have taken 3 months to rest and recover, and I felt great for the first couple of times I played, but the injury seems to come back again and again. It is very frustrating, and makes me think I need to hang up my boots for good soon. That makes me want to cry.
  21. Ok, so now the nationals have Dunn, Willingham, Dukes, Kearns, Willie Harris, Pena, and Milledge for the outfield. I'm assuming one or two of them are available. I wouldn't mind Willie Harris as a bench option, he is a LH bat that can play 2nd and CF/LF.
  22. I'm in a NL only 5x5 league, and our overall salary is $280 for the 25 man roster, I just traded Jarrod Parker, who is in my farm system for Aaron Harang who is signed for $10. Do you guys think this is a good trade, I think it was worth taking a chance that he would rebound into 2007 form.
  23. This game will be on Wednesday night at 6 pm on ESPN 2, I am a big US National team fan and this is always a very exciting and intense game. Both teams always seem to play w/ a huge chip on their shoulder, and it has turned into a pretty big rivalry. Will anybody else be watching?
  24. Wow, this season has been crazy, first Redd, then Bogut, and now Ridnour, whats next? Its too bad, because I thought they looked really good when they had their full roster, and I think they could have possibly suprised someone in the first round. I wonder what the plan is now? If we can't get rid of some contracts, I wouldn't mind seeing Hammond revisiting the deals to get Landry and Conley in return for Sessions and Villanueva, since they will both be RFA's at the end of the season. I'd also love to see RJ w/ Gadz (Fingers crossed) unloaded to a playoff team looking for a SF, for an expiring and a decent prospect. Maybe to Portland for Lafrentz and Outlaw/Webster. It is going to be a tough process for John Hammond, and I really hope he can fix it. On another note, I see that Amare Stoudamire is available and I would love to get him, but I'm not sure that we have what it takes to get him. I think he would be a good fit w/ Bogut.
