  1. I don't think we would have to get rid of Cameron to get Edmonds enough AB's. I really think that his best fit would be a spot starter for Cameron/Hart against tough RHP's, 4th OF, top PH role, however I question if he would actually accept that role. It also would be a very important acquisition because of his ability to step in incase one of Hart/Braun/Cameron get injured, and replace them w/out a big dropoff. I'm not really excited about leaving our 5th outfielder/backup CF role to Gwynn Jr or Chris Duffy.
  2. Ok, we get it, he's a big guy and you're trying to be funny by calling him a nickname of another big man. I just don't understand how in less than one year he goes from being a fan favorite and the cornerstone of our franchise to being called names constantly, and having a lot of people wanting to get rid of him at all costs. Its kind of sad to see.
  3. I hope it buys out at least one year of free agency, a middle of the order w/ Braun and Fielder for the next 3 seasons is something that I would love to see.
  4. Where would he play? Prince hardly misses a game, and Casey doesn't play in the outfield, I'd rather get Doug Meintkewitz, he played 1st, 3rd and outfield for the Pirates last season and had a .374 OBP.
  5. My Grandma calls her cellular phone a calculator phone, I corrected her the first time I heard her say it, but I don't think she cared and continues to call it that. This past weekend my parents came to visit, and my mom called myspace, myface, which was pretty funny. I used to work help disk for printer and copier support, and it is amazing some of the calls I got. I think 1 out of every 20 calls actually deserved a call to the help desk. Half of the calls were that they needed to load paper, or press the energy saver button, I'm glad I'm not doing that anymore.
  6. Great news, now I hope people will remember this the next time he misses a volunteer off-season function, and try to to make it a bigger deal than it is. Brewcrew review, how do you feel about this news?
  7. According to Jsonline, he ended up getting $1,662,500. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/37881384.html
  8. I think that some people are just looking for reasons to rip on Prince Fielder, because he doesn't go out of his way to kiss the media and the fans butts. Yes it would be cool if he showed up to On Deck Event, but it is the middle of their small off-season, and the players have every right not to attend. If he was the only one not attending I guess it would be a little bigger deal, but he is one of 5 or so players not attending including Bill Hall, Mike Lamb and Jason Kendall. Maybe he is planning on surprising everybody during spring training and showing up in great shape?
  9. This will be his 4th year.
  10. Got it, Oregon Ducks, now it makes more sense. It went right over my head. You think someone is going to overpay for him, so you think he will be traded sometime soon? On Villanueva, I don't mind pointing out the fact that he has Alopecia, but the nickname The Alopecia'd One seems a little bit ridiculous.
  11. Luv Da Bush, I'm not sure if you've been watching the Bucks, but Luke Ridnour has been playing very well, and Luke the Duck doesn't rhyme or make sense. I know that Charlie Villanueva has alopecia, but I think its kind of disrespectful to call him the Alopecia one, if you had a disease would you like to be called by that instead of your name? Also, RJ never fought tooth and nail not to come to Milwaukee. From everything he's said, he was sad to leave NJ because he had been there his whole career, and it had nothing to do with Milwaukee. From what I've seen he has had nothing but a positive attitude, and seems to be a good teammate. Although I did expect more out of him on the court.
  12. Then they also have this one guy named Lebron, who might be worth mentioning on that team. I'd be excited to see the Bucks get the #8 seed, especially coming off the last couple of dreadful seasons. I also think they are capable of an pulling off an upset in the first round if they continue to grow as a team this season.
  13. I agree, its hard for me to believe that they would ship out Alexander this quickly, considering this is Hammonds first lottery pick in his tenure as GM. Although, if he feels Conley is going to be a star he probably thinks it's worth the risk. I like Sessions, but I loved Conley coming out of OSU, and still think he is going to be great in the NBA. I'm just hoping that we don't have to include Alexander in the deal.
  14. I like going to Wilson's on the east side of Madison. I like it because most people there are pretty into the game, and they also have the game on the speakers.
  15. edod, if the Bucks did make this trade, I would guess that they'd be looking to find a power forward prospect in the draft. Especially since Charlie Villanueva is a free agent, and Mhah a Moute is more of a small forward. They also could use a higher quality backup C, and SG. Here is a link to the top 100 prospects, and you can read a little about them if you want. http://www.draftexpress.c...nkings/Top-100-Prospects/
  16. According to Gery Woelful of the Racine Journal Times the Bucks might be trading Ramon Sessions and Joe Alexander to the Grizzlies for Mike Conley Jr. and possibly a draft pick, the only thing holding it up is approval by Sen. Kohl. I loved Conley's game coming out of college, and even though he hasn't been that good so far w/ the Grizz, I think he will eventually be a good NBA player. It's just hard for me to believe that Hammond would trade Alexander this quick. I think there is probably more to this trade. http://my.journaltimes.com/woelfel-world-of-sports
  17. If we would have been talking about acquiring Swisher before last season, I believe everybody would be all for it. I would expect him to rebound, and w/ the money savings and having Swisher locked up until '12 for a reasonable price, I believe this would be a good trade. There is also the Macha connection w/ Swisher that makes me believe this could happen.
  18. It seems like Boston is signing a lot of guys coming off of injury in hopes that a few pan out. I was hoping Melvin would take a chance on Saito, every time I've seen him he's looked pretty unhittable.
  19. Jim Edmonds plays in the outfield, are you thinking of somebody else?
  20. I think it took twice as much effort to do what he did, than to just sign the paper. I agree that it must suck to be asked for autographs all the time, but we were the only ones in the lobby asking, so I figured it wouldn't be that big of a deal.
  21. Is it Doug Melvin, who has said it a couple of times this off-season?
  22. My wife and I went to Minneapolis to watch the Brewers play the Twins for a weekend series last year. On Sunday morning before the last game we were about the leave our hotel to have breakfast and then head to the Metrodome. I then noticed that Jeff Suppan and Billy Castro were standing right behind me. Being a 28 year old lifelong Brewer fan that had never met a player, I was very excited and felt like a 12 year old little leaguer. My wife went up to Suppan and Castro and asked for their autographs, mostly because I was too nervous, and wasn't really sure if they wanted to be bothered. Thankfully they were very nice and signed the autographs then had a little conversation w/ us. After that we decided to stick around the lobby and wait and see if more players were coming out. In the next half hour or so, most of the players and Uecker, Melvin and Ash came through the lobby. All of them were very nice, we wished some of the players good luck and my wife got a few more autographs and even got to tell Prince Fielder that she loved him. Which he thought was very funny. During this my wife kept telling me to go get one of there autographs, I really didn't want to, and felt kind of nervous about it. Then when I saw Weeks and Cameron walking by I finally grew a pair, and went up to Rickie and asked if he had a second to sign his autograph, he was very nice and signed it. Then I asked Cameron and he got really mad, and told me this is the worst hotel he's ever stayed at, and something else which I don't remember, then scribbled something that didn't resemble his autograph at all. At the time I was very embarresed, especially since it was in front of a few other players and Brewers people, and I thought that it might have ruined the whole experience. But after that initial embarresment wore off, I realized how cool it was that we got to meet 20-30 other players, and that everybody else was so nice to us. He might have been having a bad day, but I think that is no way to treat people, and am no longer a fan of him as a person. However, because he is one heck of a centerfielder, I'm glad he is a Brewer.
  23. I'm a big fan of Mike Cameron as a player, and I'm glad that he is considered a good clubhouse guy. However, I met him once in Minneapolis and he really made me feel stupid, so I'm not that big of a fan of him as a person.
  24. I still would like to see a LH bench bat or two pursued by the Brewers, and I believe there are some cheap options that might still be available. Edmonds and Griffey Jr. are my two favorite choices. Jim Edmonds Negatives - Might be a disruption in the clubhouse, and is quite injury prone, and his D has slipped considerably Positvies - LH bat that kills righties (.883 OPS), could be our 4th outfielder and main PH and play a lot in OF against righties, has World Series ring, and knows Cards and Cubs very well. Ken Griffey Jr Negatives - not good defensively, might not accept reserve role. Postives - good clubhouse presence (especially for Prince), LH bat that hits righties very well, could thrive as 4th OF and PH if he accepts role. Had an .868 OPS in 07'. Other veteran LH bats to consider: Eric Hinske can play LF, RF, 1B, 3B, hits righties well. Brad Wilkerson can play all 3 of positions, but has been terrible at the plate the last few years. Cliff Floyd - I love his bat but, can only realistically play LF and not well. Garret Anderson- Has only played LF for the last couple of years, and didn't hit righties all that well last season. Probably will cost too much.
  25. In the latest Jsonline blog it mentions that Hoffman recieved calls from both Kendall and Cameron telling him how much they enjoy playing in Milwaukee. That is really cool that they would do that.
