  1. I took these stats from the Hardball times. I don't think we would be worse defensively at 2nd w/ Cano. Cano seems to be more consistent w/ balls in his range, but Rickie seems to have more range.Cano: Year Tm Pos Inn PO A TE FE FPct DPS DPT BIZ Plays RZR OOZ 2005 NYA 2B 1142 258 391 8 9 .974 39 38 410 313 .763 19 2006 NYA 2B 1009 230 333 3 6 .984 34 39 331 267 .807 25 2007 NYA 2B 1408 320 497 3 10 .984 60 78 420 350 .833 53 2008 NYA 2B 1376 305 482 4 9 .984 57 52 472 382 .809 30 Weeks: Year Tm Pos Inn PO A TE FE FPct DPS DPT BIZ Plays RZR OOZ 2005 MIL 2B 837 178 233 10 11 .951 23 33 229 165 .721 35 2006 MIL 2B 794 177 261 12 10 .952 22 45 251 192 .765 23 2007 MIL 2B 984 232 286 6 7 .976 25 45 246 193 .785 35 2008 MIL 2B 1056 256 333 7 8 .975 26 47 295 238 .807 41
  2. I guess I thought that we would be getting the better end of a one for one deal, but you could be right.
  3. I just mentioned in another thread that I would like to trade a Cam package for Cano, and then turn around and trade Weeks for Dejesus. I think it would be great to add 2 contact hitters to the lineup.
  4. A left handed bat that I would love to acquire if available is Robinson Cano, I would pick him as the player to target if we deal Cameron to the Yanks. I know it would probably take more than just Cameron, but that would be the starting point. Some of the reasons I like Cano are: -buy low, had a bad first half of the season last year, after having 126 and 120 OPS+ seasons as a 23 and 24 year old. Had a big drop in BABIP in 08', .283, compared to his .329, and .359 the two previous seasons. -better 2nd baseman statistically than Rickie Weeks, at least from what I've seen. -Doesn't strike out a lot, is more of a contact hitter, has a career .303 BA. -Has played in high pressure situations his whole career, including 3 seasons in the playoffs. Some of the bad things are, his contract, but only if he puts up stats like he did in 08' instead of his previous years. Also he has a low walk rate, and doesn't steal many bases. If this trade was made, we then could use Rickie Weeks to acquire a center fielder, like the one that often gets mentioned David Dejesus. I think the addition of these 2 contact hitters would make our lineup better. Dejesus Hardy Braun Fielder Hart Cano Hall/Gamel Kendall
  5. According to jsonline, the Brewers added Rogers, Periard, Aguilar and Cody Scarpetta to the 40 man roster. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/34763409.html
  6. This is my top 10 list, but not in any particular order. Curb your Enthusiasm Ali G show The Office Seinfeld SNL South Park Arrested Development Conan O'Brien Scrubs Tom Green Show
  7. Wouldn't Lincecum start opening day for the Giants?
  8. I thought this poll was funny on newsday, it doesn't even give the possibility that CC will choose another team. What's your gut feeling on what the Yankees will do this offseason? They'll make a big splash for CC and not much else. They'll get CC and load up on quality pitchers. They'll get CC, Teixeira and pretty much everyone on their shopping list. They'll shock everyone and pass on CC and be relatively quiet like last year.
  9. He is a solid player that plays for the Royals, so a lot of people automatically think he is available each off-season, which is probably not true. I was browsing over his stats, and I would be very happy to get his .360 OBP in our lineup, I also noticed that he has a .923 OPS vs NL teams in 327 career ab's.

  13. I don't think this is a guarantee at all, I think they will wait and see how much his d has improved before starting him in Milwaukee next season. Also, I believe a lot of it will be determined by if Melvin can find another left handed bat or not.
  14. I know how it works, I was merely saying that that in my opinion the Brewers should put him on the 40 man roster, and not risk losing him in the Rule 5 draft, which if taken, would be potentially giving up on him. I could understand not protecting him if they think there is no way he can come back, but if there is any chance of him regaining his velocity I would like to see him protected.
  15. I hope they put him on the 40 man roster, I'd hate to see the Brewers give up on him already.
  16. IMO opinion RJ has had a few bad games, but overall I think he has been very good most of the time. He has played good defense at the 3, and is averaging around 19 ppg. I expect him to be even better the more the team gets to know each other, and w/ Redd on the court. I'm not sure what you expected out of him, but he brings a lot more to the team than Simmons or Yi would've. Also, I didn't agree w/ the call either, but to call Garnett a classless human being is way off, he is the total opposite of that. I'm not sure if you were thinking of somebody else, but he is a very good speaker, does a ton of charity work, and is considered a great teammate. Here are a few links to show you some of the things he has done. http://sports.espn.go.com...s&source=NBAHeadlines http://www.nba.com/news/garnett_assist_080522.html
  17. Do you have an inside source, or is that just a gut feeling? According to MLB trade rumors, Ken Rosenthal said he thinks this is a prelude to something bigger. I think last year was a down year, I consider him a big time bounce back candidate. He can somewhat play all 3 outfield positions and 1B, he had a very low .249 BAbip last season, so bringing that up to normal would of made his season look a lot better. He did play 2 seasons under Macha, so if he liked him as a player that could make a difference.
  18. I'd guess the Brewers would be interested in Wood, since they apparantley offered him a contract last season. That would be very weird to see him in a Brewers uniform.
  19. I like what I've seen from both Ridnour and Sessions. I think Ridnour's game has been affected by his bad back, but he still has had some solid performances this season. I think once Redd comes back, we will see less minutes out of Bell w/ Sessions getting most, if not all of the minutes at backup 1/2, which to me is a good thing. I wonder if Skiles will continue to start LRMAM? To me it was nice to bring him off the bench, and letting him finish games, I think CV plays better as a starter for whatever reason. I'd love to see the Bucks get an adequate big man to back up Bogut, I don't think Elson, Gadz or Malik Allen get the job done. I hope for some reason Mcdyess wants to come here, but if not we always have Damon Jones' expiring contract available. Who is out there, maybe the Thunder would be a good match, they seem to have an abundance of big men in Collison/Wilcox and Joe Smith.
  20. Good pickup for the Cubs, especially if they resign Wood. The back 3 of Gregg, Marmol and Wood will be very good. I was hoping the Brewers would get in on Gregg, however there are a lot of bullpen options still out there.
  21. For some reason, even though I know its probably not true, I think that the Brewers will keep trying to get in the mix for Peavy, especially if talks between SD and ATL slow down. I'd like to see them sign Trevor Hoffman, maybe that would help change Peavy's mind about coming to Milwaukee. I think we have more to offer SD than either the Braves or Cubs.
  22. He did have a 3.45 ERA in over 200 innings in his age 21 season, I'd say that is pretty impressive.
  23. Here is a pretty good article on Sheets. It says the Brewers have kept the doors open on a Sheets return. It also looks like Mike Maddux really wants him, and Texas might make a run at signing him. That would be an interesting fit. http://sports.espn.go.com...s&source=MLBHeadlines
  24. The Pads are trying to cut payroll a lot, so I don't think they would be interested in Cameron. I could see Hart traded to SD, I wouldn't mind getting Kouzmanoff instead of Headley, I think it would cost much less.
