  1. At this time it is better to extend players like Frelick, Mitchell, Wiemer, Turang, Chourio and others. For Adames right now it makes more sense to go the free agent route. The amount of money being thrown around for free agents is just insane right now. I don't believe it would be prudent for the Brewers to sign Adames to a contract similar to Swanson. At a minimum I think Adames gets the Swanson deal and I just don't believe that would be a good idea for the Brewers.
  2. I just don't see Cleveland giving up a big time prospect for Burnes. I think this is the most that Cleveland would offer for Burnes: Espino RHP, Martinez SS and Valera OF. I don't see them giving up Williams which at that point it is just not worth it trading with Cleveland.
  3. Well the end user also needs to be smart. Would be better if all of your smart devices were in one hub. Update the hubs password to the new WiFi password. That way you only change one instead of all of them.
  4. Chat bots FTW!
  5. Because 1.5 years of Burnes is worth more than a half a year of Burnes. You will also start eliminating some teams as the Phillies would have their two and really only best trade chips on their team by that time. The Dodgers would also have their better prospects up by '24 also. Makes more sense to either trade him next offseason or during the deadline if the Brewers are out of it. Preferably I would rather see him traded in the next offseason because that means the Brewers made the playoffs or were within striking distance of a playoff spot.
  6. No, If you are trading someone like Burnes you don't want someone who has already burnt some time unless they are still rookie eligible see Baty as an example. If a player already has 1-year of service time then they have to be someone who is signed long term and a team is not going to give up that type of a player. Teams are not going to subtract from their roster during the deadline especially if it is a player who is contributing for that team. At best you are looking at AA maybe AAA players. Trading any player you are looking at 1-2 years down the road best case scenario and realistically it is 3-5 years away or never. I don't really think Baty would be available but it is the Mets so you never know with them. The best options for a Burnes trade are the Yankees, Phillies, Dodgers and Mets. The Guardians are an interesting team but I don't see them making that type of a trade. A surprise team could be the D-backs but I think they are another year or two away from competing. It really is only a four team competition for Burnes if the Brewers decide to trade him at the deadline. The Phillies make the most sense with Painter or Abel as the main piece going to the Brewers with a few lower level prospects. The Dodgers are a close second with the Mets and Yankees being distant 3rd and 4th. The only other team would be the Orioles and you are looking more at a player who is 2-4 years away in Holliday.
  7. That is way too optimistic. You could maybe get one but not both. The Phillies are probably the best match for the Brewers. Something like Painter and a couple of other prospects. That would be the best option for the Brewers. Otherwise I think something like Baty, Ramirez, Tidwell and Ziegler makes sense from the Mets. A deadline deal with the Orioles probably starts with Holliday but after him there really isn't much that I like with the Orioles prospect wise. The Orioles are really thin in pitching prospects and I don't see DL Hall as much of a prospect at all. A throw in for Burnes sure but not someone I would want to include as a major piece. The Phillies are the best team to trade Burnes to as they have a really good pitcher in Painter. Even if all you get is Painter and a few throw ins that is more than enough for Burnes. If you want to go on the offensive side then the Mets make the most sense. Someone I would really like to get is Blaze Jordan from the Red Sox. I am not sure there is a trade there but he is someone to watch for in the next couple of years. He has a lot of power but he looks to be a 1B or DH only. He doesn't have the arm strength nor the quickness to stay at 3B.
  8. No not blaming them just stating a fact about most of the tech layoff people who were in high paying jobs. Most are using their severance pay on vacations where some haven't taken one in a long time. The younger Millennials and the two Z's that I work with are not really interested in Hawaii they see it as an old people vacation spot. They prefer Mexico, Miami, Nashville, LA and the Caribbean over Hawaii. Small sample and all that other stuff yes I know.
  9. Severance package from the tech companies money is being spent on travel.
  10. Is this a serious question? The answer is an emphatic yes. It is all about the clicks! Weird Al should do a parody of It's All About the Benjamins but rename it to It's All About the Clicks.
  11. That is why I said apparently.
  12. Apparently the Packers are disgusted with Rodgers and are done with him. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/02/17/report-packers-are-disgusted-with-aaron-rodgers-theyre-done-with-him/amp/
  13. Large corporations no. I doubt the letter would even get to them maybe an email and that is probably going to get lost in a sea of emails. I get about 100+ emails a day and most go into folders I never look at. The likelihood of someone’s thank you email getting in one of my folders I don’t check is at a 90% chance.
  14. The tech jobs the actual tech jobs that are being lost are being gobbled up by startups and financial institutions. These layoffs are not like the banking layoffs. The tech jobs translate to other jobs if you get laid off at Google or Twitter you can pick up a job easily in the financial sector. If you got laid off by a financial company in 2008 you were not going to find another job as easily. Inflation is still a problem and with the recent CPI numbers I wouldn't be surprised if the FED goes back to a 75BP hike.
  15. The only right answer. You have a hall of fame center and a hall of fame SG/SF. How this team didn't win one is just crazy.
  16. From a few economists that I have read from they are predicting a 4.3 CPI for tomorrow. Which if true probably means more rate hikes.
  17. You are looking at it incorrectly. It is not the net gain/loss but the probability of the outcomes.
  18. You can mitigate risk with your 401k also. The closer you get to retirement start switching over to safer investments. So at 55-60 start allocating more towards bonds and cash. Once at your retirement and withdrawal age go completely cash and bonds and then cash out. Also removing your 401k wouldn't be a good idea if your employer is matching. I am not sure with government jobs if that is an option. But you would be losing money if there is a match. I wouldn't draw from social security until you are at the age of retirement for social security. You lose a lot per month if you draw early.
  19. Branch fits the Packers defensive scheme almost perfectly. QB probably not in the 1st round but third or fourth I think the Packers have to think about it. The only way I see the Packers taking a QB in the first is if they trade Rodgers and they get a top 10 pick for him. Jaxon I don’t believe will be a good NFL WR. It would be foolish to take Mayer in the 1st where the Packers are picking. Van Ness could be a sleeper at the Packers pick.
  20. I have given up on washing my car in Arizona. I would have to go every weekend to get it washed just to keep it clean. Now I just do it after each oil change. It is impossible to keep a car clean in Arizona.
  21. I am not sure if there is a top of the rotation arm in the first round to look at. Maybe if Waldrep or Skenes drop then you have a top of the rotation pitcher but otherwise I think the Brewers will have to go the risky route out of HS or believe that the Brewers could get someone like Teddy McGraw to be more consistent with his pitches. They would need to be able to get him to harness his stuff more and be more accurate with them. I mentioned him previously but someone like Will Sanders is probably a safer bet at least in the 1st round. Sanders profiles more like a #3 than a #1 or #2. Sanders does have a solid changeup which can make a fastball that only sits 92-94 look more like 95-98.
  22. This is probably the best film I have seen in years. Now if only someone would make a more recent Korean War film that is worth watching.
  23. Where in my post did I compare them to the Brewers? You were the one who said they don't have these situations when they do. Also Darvish is not a #1 or #2 type pitcher anymore he just isn't. He is a #3 type pitcher and on most of the playoff teams that is where he would be. The only team where Darvish would be the #1 would be the Cardinals. The Cardinals do not currently have a #1 type pitcher on their staff and Darvish would be a clear upgrade. The Mets have Verlander and Scherzer, Braves have Fried and Wright, Dodgers have Urias and Kershaw, Phillies have Nola and Wheeler. So yeah Darvish is a #3 or #4 on most of the playoff teams. ERA- is also a better stat to use than WAR for pitchers. Darvish was the 20th ranked player in 2022 with an ERA- of 80. The same as Nola so maybe he is the Phillies #2 so a coin flip there. The only team where Darvish is a clear better #1 are the Cardinals.
  24. The Cardinals are not relying on Flaherty who is coming off an injury or a 40 year old Wainwright who pitched poorly when not throwing to a now retired Molina? The Dodgers have a lot of starting rotation question marks along with can Lux replace Trea Turner's production? Will JD Martinez bounce back from a bad year in Boston? The Mets are relying on old pitchers being effective as their #1 and #2 pitchers. If either Scherzer or Verlander start showing their age that could be an ugly mess for the Mets. The Padres don't have a strong starting rotation. They have a good offense but their best pitcher would be a #3 or #4 on most of the playoff teams. Braves will be relying on Acuna who is coming back from injury and will also be relying on Arcia or gasp a rookie Grissom at SS to replace Swanson. Then at DH will Ozuna be able to give the Braves anything? Is Harris really the hitter he was or will he regress? Is Murphy an improvement at C over what they had in '22? The Phillies bullpen could be an absolute mess if Kimbrel is not effective. Will Castellanos bounce back from a poor season? How healthy is Harper?
  25. I LOVE THOSE BURGERS!!!!!! I will not stop ordering them in fact I will now order more of them now! Maybe you should get bigger hands or a bigger mouth! Did you think about doing that instead?
