  1. Abreu would be fine if you are looking for a #3 hitter but traditionally when someone says run producer they usually mean the #4 spot in the lineup. I think you lose value with Abreu as the #4 hitter and he is better as the #3 hitter in the lineup.

  3. I think it is more of a hypothetical than anything else. Also I don't see the Brewers playing in FA for a 1B or a DH. I think the Brewers are going to go reliever heavy in FA.

  5. I think Houser/Lauer will be traded. The FA pitching market is insane with the prices floating around even for the third tier players in Quintana and others. So I think the Rangers and Angels would be good targets for Houser/Lauer. I don't think the Brewers would get a MLB ready player and it will be mainly prospects in return for either.

  7. Physical attributes are weight and height. Athletic attributes are power, speed, quickness and skill (bat to ball, repeating delivery, etc.). There is a difference between physical attributes and athletic attributes. No Hart being tall and Wiemer being tall had nothing to do with the comparison. It is the comparison of the athletic attributes like speed, power, arm strength and others which matches Wiemer very closely. When you look at a young Jenkins there is a lot of comparison between him and Wiemer. What side of the plate one hits from is irrelevant when looking at their athletic attributes.
  8. Not sure why you are so hung up on the physical attributes when I have said they are not what I am looking at when comparing them.
  9. The most I would go for Jansen would be a Ruiz, Valerio and one or two lower minor league players. I think the Blue Jays will be looking to get MLB ready SP and a CF so maybe Small and Ruiz for Jansen instead of Ruiz, Valerio and others. That is as high as I would go for Jansen which probably doesn't get you close enough for Jansen. The BTV value is to high for Jansen as he only has 2 years of control left and last year was his big breakout offensively. While he is better than Narvaez defensively when the Brewers traded for him and Narvaez had 3-years of control and he was only valued at 12. I think Jansen's true value is closer to 15-18 than it is to 26-30. I still don't want to give up Mitchell in a trade for a catcher who will only be with the team for 2-years and last year was his best offensively. Not to mention Jansen has only played one full season in MLB and that was in 2019 where he was absolutely awful offensively. I am not sure I buy that Jansen is a good catcher. He had a great year last year and maybe his on the up but he may not be an everyday catcher. It looks like he does better when he is not the everyday catcher. I don't want to trade Mitchell for someone who could be a 70-85 wRC+ catcher no matter how good they are defensively. If the Blue Jays would take Ruiz and Small or Ruiz, Valerio plus then sure but if the deal needs Mitchell I would be walking away from the deal. Let someone else pay that.
  10. Athletically they are similar players not a one to one comparison but they are very close athletically. I don't really look at height and weight when comparing players nor do I look at their stats. It is mostly off of scouting reports, I have been able to collect some scouting reports on players usually just hand written notes or even an official scouting report here and there from some friends and through other means. This is what I compare with what I am seeing of the player in question. Hart is probably the closest you can get to a one to one comparison of Wiemer. Both are very athletic as they could both play all three OF positions. Hart played less than 100 games at 3B. I don't think he ever really fit there and it was mostly at high A with a few games in the AFL. 1B is not really an athletic position so I don't really see that as a plus for Hart. Athletically Hart is the closest to Wiemer but Sosa and Vaughn were no slouches when they were younger athletically. It is basically just looking at the players scouting reports and determining what players are comparable. It doesn't have to be an exact match and they don't have to equal each other statistically or physically. They just need to be in the same group which I gave a few examples of.
  11. Wiemer is closer to Corey Hart or Geoff Jenkins than he is to Jay Buhner. Athletically Wiemer is closer to Hart than the others. Another player that Wiemer reminds me of is Sammy Sosa who wasn't all that bad in RF either. I think Wiemer is a little bit more athletic than Sosa was when he was younger. Yet another player closer to Wiemer would be Greg Vaughn.
  12. Yeah no thanks on Jansen especially if it involves Mitchell or anyone else. Maybe for Ruiz but it would be Ruiz and a lower level prospect. I just don't see Jansen having the value that some think he has. At best going forward I think he is similar to Narvaez. Plus the years of control for Jansen don't justify giving up Mitchell at all. Maybe if Jansen had another year of control sure then that makes sense but he doesn't so I wouldn't pay the premium to get Jansen as it is just not worth it. The only catcher that the Blue Jays have that I would be willing to let Mitchell go for is Kirk.
  13. The FED still has a planned 50 BP scheduled for December. Rumor has it that CPI will show a sharp increase in December’s report and it maybe a financial shocking number. We could see another 75 BP in December instead of the planned 50 BP increase. This will all depend on the December CPI reports. Should be coming out of the recession sometime in 2024 or 2025. This is definitely a FED caused extended recession. The FED missed getting inflation in check by a whole year.
  14. I think he may become a good rotational piece and the Bucks desperately need someone at SG.
  15. Beauchamp with a good game tonight.
  16. I wouldn't be against that but I think the Braves would want to trade d'Arnaud as he has the higher salary.

  19. The Yankees were the team I was thinking Stearns will go to. Maybe the Yankees give Cashman one more year to win a WS and then they go with someone new. It has been a long time for Cashman in New York. I just don't see Stearns taking the job away from his friend Eppler on the Mets. It would be a demotion for Eppler if Stearns were to become the POBO of the Mets as Eppler would then become the assistant GM with the GM title.

  21. These can be very pricey. Best bang for your buck would be the Meta Quest 2. https://www.meta.com/quest/products/quest-2/ It comes with one free game but has a price tag of $399.99. It is unlikely these will go down in price on black friday or even cyber monday. The Quest 2 is probably the best out of all of the others and is the cheapest by far. The Quest 2 can connect to your phone through bluetooth but you need to have the Oculus app installed on their phones. Should work the same on a tablet.
  22. I wouldn't be surprised if Eppler will be the POBO at the end of next season if the Mets are in the playoffs again next year. He should be a very popular name for GM for a few teams. Probably the Padres or the Angels if they falter again. If Cohen is serious about not pursuing Stearns then Eppler is either the POBO or he has gone to another team and Stearns is the new POBO/GM. There really isn't a difference between POBO and GM they are basically the same thing just a different title. The POBO is the GM and when the POBO is the GM the GM is just an assistant to the GM. Jed Hoyer is currently the POBO for the Cubs but is basically doing everything that a GM would do. Carter Hawkins is GM in name only as he is really just the Cubs assistant GM to Hoyer.

  24. This is false. Even with losing Westburg they have Gunnar Henderson who will either be the Orioles 2B, SS or 3B in '23. They also have Connor Norby who is similar to Turang. They have Max Wagner and Coby Mayo who will either be boom or bust prospects. There is quality for the Orioles in the IF. The Orioles also have recently drafted SS Jackson Holliday who comes in as the 5th best SS prospect in MLB and Norby is ranked in the top 10 for 2B. They also have a very intriguing SS in Darell Hernaiz, an INF in Cesar Prieto and Maikol Hernandez. Hernandez is further away as he was in the 2021 international signing class. Some scouts have compared him to Alex Rodriguez and Carlos Correa but from the scouts I have talked to that is mostly because of his athleticism and size. He is still very raw but they like his swing.
  25. They can trade Brown after the World Series is over, so the day after the World Series is over all of the players who were drafted this year can be traded. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/mlb-fixes-the-trea-turner-problem-for-everyone-else/
