  1. Donte would have been a RFA this off season I believe so they had to trade him. They weren't going to match whoever was going to sign him at best the Bucks could have gotten a Brogdon type of a return for DDV which I think they kind of did with the two 2nd's.
  2. I just can't get into soccer at all, I just can't. Now I wish Lacrosse would become more popular that is fun to watch! If Lacrosse returns to the Olympics in 2024 I might watch that other than basketball.
  3. I am hoping against all hope that Keston figures things out again, and he is a force! Imagine the boost he would provide to our line-up if he can come back to 2019 levels... I have a post in the Major League forums about Keston toning down his leg kick and he is working with a hitting coach that he has been working for since he was 9-years old I believe it was. Anyways the Brewers have approved him to meet with that coach and to work on his mechanics. Hopefully Keston can turn it around and if he can this would be a horrible trade.
  4. As a teacher I think that would be an easier task than most. The parents are basically your networking, I know a few people who were able to get into a nice role in a financial company by just going to a church function. Charities are also really good networking opportunities as you can normally find a lot of different organizations at the events and can easily network. One of my friends in college who moved out to Boston was able to get a new job through meeting someone at a local school board meeting. Everything is a networking event and you have already made the connections just need to put the strings together.
  5. I don't see the Saints hiring all that confusing it makes a ton of sense for them to do this. They can't bring in any FA and they don't have a QB so that means they are going to have to go into a rebuild. Bringing in a new HC for next season doesn't really make sense and hiring from within is the better move. After next year or after the 2023 season is when I would start to look for a new HC assuming the promoted coordinator isn't working out.
  6. Me fail English? That's unpossible! For my previous position I never looked at grammar or anything really. No need when it is writing SQL queries. Current position definitely need grammar which I have to read and re-read everything my boss writes. So many spelling and grammar errors.
  7. Maybe it is still true for entry level or just beyond entry level jobs but everything after that I haven't seen a need to list references. It seems to be mostly ignored the further you go up the experience level.
  8. Leftwich supposedly turned down the Jaguars job because of the GM. Unknown if those rumors are true or not. Harbaugh can rub owners and executives the wrong way which is why he wasn't even interviewed for the Bears job. I think the Raiders probably thought the same about Harbaugh and just didn't want to deal with the baggage that Harbaugh would bring. This was the right move as that team already has enough baggage as is. I think most teams went with safe bets this year but I am still confused how Bieniemy isn't a head coach already. That is the only baffling one to me unless the Saints want to wait a year or two before hiring someone to take over. That team is being held back due to their cap situation and probably don't want to bring in a HC until that is fixed. I don't think any coach really wants the Jacksonville or Houston jobs at this point in time. I am fairly confident that some have turned downed actual interviews for those two jobs especially for Houston.
  9. Not sure what you need references for. I haven't found a job that actually looks up the references. I put Homer Simpson, Peter Griffin and Bender "Bending" Rodriguez on my last application. I asked the person interviewing me and the HR rep if they looked at my references section and they did not. I turned down their offer as they wouldn't budge on the working from home option would have been 100% in the office. The reference section on a resume or even being asked during an application is probably something that is just left over from a bygone era. I can't remember the last time I was contacted as a reference or someone that I have put down in the reference section has been contacted. Just an absolute waste of time and the temp job companies that ask you to put references down usually just uses them to get leads for jobs.
  10. I had to do a double take because I thought the Texans hired someone off of the streets to coach. Which maybe a better option.
  11. Wasn't sure where to put this. Hiura working on toning down his leg kick. https://theathletic.com/3117354/2022/02/08/brewers-keston-hiura-toning-down-his-leg-kick-with-help-from-longtime-coach-first-big-step-toward-a-rebound?source=user-shared-article
  12. I watched Reacher over the weekend on Amazon. Wasn't the greatest show but was a little bit entertaining kind of gave off a bad 80's or 90's action hero vibe. Kind of follows the script that is written for the Rock when he is in an action movie.
  13. I haven't watched the Olympics since like the late 90's as it is a complete snoooze fest.
  14. I think Robin will be bought out and he will come to the Bucks after the buyout. That is just speculation by me but I think Robin would come back to the Bucks and I am not sure if there would be a better fit.
  15. For me it is the Raptors that gives me the biggest concern matchup wise.
  16. Keith Law has the Brewers as the 26th ranked farm system. https://theathletic.com/3112765/2022/02/07/mlb-2022-farm-system-rankings-keith-law-grades-all-30-teams-on-prospects-with-the-dodgers-at-no-1/
  17. I thought the Badgers won in 2006?
  18. Doubt it even makes it to a court case but since it is highly publicized it has a better chance to. Most of these are settled out of court as the legal fees can be more than what gets paid out.
  19. Depends on the job. For IT jobs it is a must as you need to list out certificates and other things. It is also easier to list out what systems you have experience with like JAVA, JAVASCRIPT, C+, C, C#, Python, etc. Even IT Business Analyst positions you need to do this as there are a bunch of things you need to list out and it is far easier to do it in bullet points. For example I have listed on my resume Teradata, NOSQL, SQL, Oracle, Postgresql, Alteryx, Tableau, Python, SAS, R, COGNOS, VBA and a few others. My friend who is more into the trading side of finance lists out the trading platforms that he uses.
  20. The Facebook deal is only $30m and the YouTube one is probably close to $30m also. The Fox contract is $700 million a year, the ESPN contract is $700 million a year and TBS is $470m a year. The radio deals are going to be far less probably around $25-50 million a season. So if we add up all of the contracts that are known it is about $2.1 billion and the teams don't get 1/30th of this revenue as MLB also takes their cut. Since we don't know how much MLB is taking I am going to assume it is a 40/60 split with the league taking 40 and the rest being divided out to each team. That is only about $40m a year to each team and with the Brewers local TV contract that brings them to about even with the ticket sales. Tickets are the bread and butter for the Brewers and other small market teams. The media revenue is just not enough to sustain the team for the whole year when you add in players payroll, general payroll, minor leagues, spring training and other miscellaneous expenses. If you just look at player salaries then yes the media revenue is enough to sustain a team and the ticket sales are basically a bonus.
  21. Dang young people you should of raised and shook your fist at them and told them to get off your lawn!
  22. Put Rodgers and Adams on the Colts and they are probably the overwhelming Super Bowl favorites with Taylor at RB. Wentz really dragged that team down and cost them a spot in the playoffs. The Colts probably go 10-7 or better with Rodgers or anyone else but Wentz at QB.
  23. I don't believe this is the case for the Brewers. The Brewers still have one of the lowest TV contracts and I doubt their radio contract is much more and whatever the league gives to the team for the streaming on MLB.TV can't be all that much more than what their current TV deal is paying them. At best I think the broadcast revenue is covering about 40% of the teams operating expenses. I believe ticket sales, merchandising and other revenue aspects cover the rest. If the Brewers are depending on the broadcast revenues then they would be operating at a negative a rather large negative at that. Previously the Brewers were only getting about $30m a year from their TV contract the current deal I haven't seen any figures for. Lets assume they got a nice bump up and now bring in $50m a year. That won't even cover the teams player payroll for the year so yeah ticket revenue is far more important to a team like the Brewers than the Yankees or Dodgers who are getting paid nearly four times as much each year. Ticket revenue for the smaller market teams is extremely important as it is how they are able to close the gap and have a payroll higher than $60m a year. Some basic math here the Brewers average ticket price is about $40 and the Brewers average about 30k fans per game. Over a full season that is about $97m just on ticket sales. If you say the average attendee pays in total about $80 (parking, tickets, food and merchandise) per game that figure now doubles to about $200m. I don't see how you can claim the revenue from the media outpaces gate revenue as the numbers just do not match up. The Brewers would have to be bringing in about $200m+ to outpace the gate revenue.
  24. The DH is already on the teams 40-man roster. Their names are Hiura, Yelich and Tellez. Don't expect a big signing all signs are pointing to the Brewers not being all that active in FA this off season. If the Brewers do add someone it will be someone who can play all over the field or a reliever and I think they will just be bringing some players back like Strickland, Norris, or Boxberger.
  25. I would be asking your former boss for a recommendation on the manager position assuming that is something the company is thinking of filling.
