  1. Just like anything else it is far easier to teach what not to do than it is to teach how to do it correctly. Deion though is a really smart player but that doesn’t really mean much if you can’t teach what you know. Ted Williams is probably the greatest example of this one of the greatest hitters of all time but also one of the worst to teach you how to hit. Tony Gwynn is the same as how he taught how to hit would drive some people crazy.
  2. Cubs unlikely to re-sign Tucker and some saying they won't re-sign him. Kyle Tucker unlikely to re-sign with Cubs
  3. Turang would move to SS before Durbin ever does. Turang has been a SS for the majority of his time when in the minors. If it wasn’t for his shoulder or arm during spring training he would have been the starting SS this year. The Brewers still see Turang as a SS. The plan was for Durbin/Ortiz at 2B and Turang at SS for this year.
  4. The Govt' buying a steak in Intel is a soft bailout for Intel. NVDA basically bought out its third tier competition for dedicated consumer graphics cards. Intel was failing in the consumer graphics card industry. There was a market for them but they basically gave up and took NVDA's money to basically bail them out. Steam while not 100% accurate but it has the largest number of users doesn't even have the Intel ARC graphic cards in the top 25 for users. NVDA dominates the consumer graphic cards market and even the low end graphic card market. Intel tried to capture the low end but wasn't ever able to capitalize on it though they did improve this year. Intel still has a strong CPU presence but AMD has been gaining ground on them for the past 5-10 years now. Intel used to be NVDA for CPU's where it had +70% of the market share. The non Arc intel ones are non dedicated GPU's.
  5. Ole Miss is a top 5 program???? They maybe ranked in the top 5 but I wouldn't put them as a top 5 program. They are not on the same level as Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma or Michigan. Heck I would put Auburn, USC LSU and Notre Dame ahead of Ole Miss and possibly even PSU. The difference in salary between Kiffin and Fickell is about $1mm. Unknown on the bonuses for both so lets say that figure grows to about $2-3mm difference. I already said I wasn't sure he would leave but that is the type of HC I would want at UW. I don't want someone who was an assistant at UW previously. Why does UW have to stick with the boring safe HC's it is like the program gets stuck in we can only do it one way and that is it. UW is stuck in the Bears thinking of we had Payton and the '85 defense that is the only way we can win mentality. Stuck in a bygone era of football doomed to be a failure until those people are removed.
  6. Nope. Just not a good fit at UW personality wise. He would drive so many here crazy.
  7. The only HC I would want to change from Fickell would be Lane Kiffin but I am not sure he will leave Ole Miss. Everyone else who has been mentioned just don't do it for me. They are all blah bland coaches who don't really do anything to make the program better. Kiffin would be that guy who would continue with the recruiting that has been set up so far. I don't really care about recruiting players in WI I just want the best players coming to Wisconsin. Creating a wall inside WI for recruiting is just something that is dumb to me and is unnecessary. If that is the next HC's focus then I know it will be a failure.
  8. If I would change it I would change it to a walk/hbp = 2 bases and an intentional walk = 3 bases and a strikeout = 2 outs and you choose 4 players to bat in extra innings and only the players who were available to bat in the 9th inning count. Gets you more time to see the best of the best play and less of the bottom of the barrel play. Also would make bullpen management crazy towards the end of a close game.
  9. The Cubs looked absolutely lifeless after the first inning. Like they looked completely defeated after the first inning. Hopefully the Brewers can continue to put the pressure on the Cubs like they have and wrap this up on Wednesday.
  10. This umpire is just bad. He shouldn’t be allowed to call another game behind home plate.
  11. Simmons has looked really good at QB in this game. Why was he the #3 QB?
  12. I know Cubs fans who are season ticket holders for the Brewers. I also know a Bears fan who is a season ticket holder for the Packers and a few Vikings fans who are also season ticket holders for the Packers. Back in the 90's and the Jordan era there were a bunch of suburb Bulls fans who were season ticket holders for the Bucks. Also the Brewers set aside X% of tickets for the general public and for the major ticketing companies. Also not every single season seat holder is going to buy playoff tickets and those will go to the general public. When I had season tickets for the Brewers you had to buy them in lots which was about the same price as a full season worth of games. Not everyone is going to be able to do this and they will forgo those tickets and they will then become available to the public. In reality it is probably maybe 1000 tickets that are sold from season seat holders on the resale site and even if you do a completely insane figure that it would be 70% Cubs fans buying these tickets that is still not as many that will be buying the general public tickets. But this whining from someone who has said if you wear another teams hat you are not a true fan. Also complaining about how people wear their hats.
  13. I am glad the Brewers don't have to play the Dodgers. It looks like they have woken up and are now playing to their potential.
  14. I don’t think it is market size driven just that the Yankees are well the Yankees. Sorry not sorry Red Sox fans. Yankees - Blue Jays is a better draw nationally than Red Sox - Blue Jays. Surprised the Mariners are not the late option which would make more sense.
  15. I am just hoping this will help the MLB umpires call things correctly. If not then I think it will be a completely automated system. If the umpire union complains about this they have no one to blame but themselves. There has to be accountability for poor performance by an umpire. The umpire union wasn’t going to fix this and if it continues it will be one less thing they will be doing.
  16. This Manny Rodriguez?
  17. That has been his scouting report his whole career. He will swing at pitches up and out of the strike zone and will swing at pitches low and in like nearly every left handed batter. I believe PCA had a lot of success earlier in the season hitting the up and out of the zone pitches along with pitches that were up and in the strike zone. There is not much of a difference between 1st half PCA and 2nd half PCA. Just that in the 1st half of the season he was hitting the up and out of the strike zone pitches.
  18. Torkelson is a horrible 1B defensively. That was a bad throw by Baez but that was a catchable ball for an average 1B and Torkelson completely whiffed on catching that ball.
  19. There are a lot of names ending with ski in MLB now. Which is usually the easiest part of saying a Polish, Lithuanian, Ukrainian or Belarusian name. I was lucky to be born with an easy to say last name that is Polish.
  20. You should have to be retired for something like this. Just dumb to have active broadcasters on a HoF list.
  21. Packers DB’s are the weakness on their defense. Way too much zone played by the Packers defense. The DB’s didn’t even check or put hands on the Cowboys receivers. It was like they were playing scared of the Cowboys receivers beating them deep. I don’t see the Packers defense be any better than it was last year even with Parsons on the team.
  22. LOL Cardinals intentionally walked Busch who only needed a single for a cycle. Stay classy St. Louis or is this one of those hidden rules that only the Cardinals know about and enforce?
