  1. No but they almost lost to the Cowboys in OT.
  2. Are you talking about the Packers or the Lions here?
  3. I could see the Brewers picking up Manoah and seeing if they could fix him. I wouldn't be surprised if he was added as starting depth.
  4. Have they figured out how to do this with paper money?
  5. Cryptocurrency is going to be bigger soon. The largest bank in the US and possibly the world just launched its own cryptocurrency department. This thing is going to get bigger from what I have been told. Right now it is just for institutional transactions but this is probably going to be the new everyday transaction for PoS systems.
  6. No I did say towards the bottom that Yelich wouldn’t approve.
  7. This probably has a zero percent chance of happening but…… Yelich and prospects to the Angels Trout and Perkins to the Phillies Castellanos and prospects to the Brewers Brewers retain Yelich’s deferred payments in this scenario. Why this makes sense for the Brewers? The Brewers get out of the Yelich contract and replace it with Castellanos for one more season and get low level prospects. This also allows for the Brewers to sign some of their younger players to long term deals with the majority of the Yelich contract off the books. Why this makes sense for the Angels? The Angels are able to get out of the Trout contract but still get a veteran back for the next few years. They also clear some payroll so they can possibly add another veteran in FA. Why this makes sense for the Phillies? The Phillies get a replacement for Schwarber. In this trade scenario Schwarber signs elsewhere and Trout replaces him as the main DH. The Phillies also get a good defensive CF in Perkins which they are lacking. The trade is unlikely to happen as both Trout and Yelich would have to agree to the trade. I think Trout would be fine with this but I don’t think Yelich would be. Again this probably has a zero percent chance of happening, I am just bored and was thinking of something crazy.
  8. Susac being unprotected is a big surprise. Probably goes #1 and he should be able to fill in as a backup catcher and not cost a team a roster spot. This is a head scratching move by the A’s. I am not sure what they are doing here. I would be shocked if he doesn’t get picked early.
  9. Obviously the Lions schedule is far easier than the Bears. Of their remaining 7 games two are against teams well below .500 and one against the Vikings. They should finish ahead of both the Bears and Packers by at least one game or more.
  10. Goff is not an elite level QB and I am not even sure he is an above average QB. I think at best he is an average QB. He will probably cost the Lions a SB chance. The Eagles offensively look average and the Lions defensively are nothing special. The NFC as a whole is nothing special. I wouldn't be surprised if the top seeds all get upset in the NFC and the same in the AFC other than the Bills. There just isn't a dominant team in the NFL right now and maybe the Bills are the closest to that type of a team?
  11. Matt "Salad Tongs" Wise strikes again! https://www.cbssports.com/nhl/news/jack-hughes-injury-devils-star-out-eight-weeks-team-dinner/?utm_source=firefox-newtab-en-us No evidence salad tongs were involved in this injury.
  12. If the Lions lose this weekend I don’t see a path for them for the #1 seed even with a lighter schedule than most of the other playoff teams.
  13. It is not really Manfred's call. It is the owners call to make. This may come up in the next CBA but I wouldn't hold my breath on the owners approving it. From a year ago: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/07/rob-manfred-hints-at-changes-to-rules-on-trading-draft-picks.html There is probably one "stupid" team left that would ruin it for others and they are in a large market with the Dodgers. The Angels are the "stupid" team here and probably would have traded all of their 1st round picks and then some when they had Ohtani and Trout on their team. That market is really important to MLB even if it is dominated right now by the Dodgers.
  14. Drive through Arizona once and you will have them everywhere. In AZ we have a law that mandates the insurance companies to have the option of free glass replacement as an option on your insurance. Mine gets used at least once every other year. So many rocks hit my car everyday it is a miracle I only go through one windshield every other year.
  15. Not really. I think MLB doesn’t want teams trading away their future kind of like what happened in the NBA before they put rules in place.
  16. That Lions game is the last game of the season and could be a meaningless game for the Lions. So that maybe the starters play the first half and that is it type of game.
  17. This will be a crazy NFL weekend and could decide who is the #1 and #2 seeds for the NFC. The Lions play the Eagles and the Rams play the Seahawks. The Rams, Eagles and Seahawks are all 7-2. If the Lions win then the Rams or Seahawks will be the #1 seed. If the Eagles win that leaves them at the top at #1 and the Rams or Seahawks at #2. The Lions have to win this game against the Eagles for any chance at the #1 seed and possibly the #2 seed also as the Rams and Seahawks have a lighter schedule than the Lions do. Should be a very interesting weekend.
  18. Maybe but I don't think it will. They have to go 5-3 to be guaranteed a playoff spot.
  19. To fit the Brewers defensive philosophy you would have to move Abrams to 2B and move Turang to SS. That improves the offense but I am not sure Abrams would move to 2B as his value would drop significantly by moving from SS to 2B. There are also other teams out there who may need a SS and are willing to play him there. I am also very skeptical if Abrams would even be good defensively at 2B. The competition for Abrams would be fierce and I am not sure the Brewers would be willing to give up Pena or Made for Abrams. I think you will need to include one of Pena or Made to get the deal done along with a few others.
  20. Only competitive balance picks can be traded. This is incorrect, only competitive balance picks can be traded.
  21. I can’t unsee this now.
  22. If you are trading someone like Perkins you are only going to get back someone like Perkins. If you want to go that route then someone like Bleday makes some sense though he is a horrible OF defensively. A Bleday for Perkins trade would make some sense for the A's as they currently don't have a CF and Perkins could fill that void for them cheaply. Bleday had one good year for the A's in 2024 though he K's a lot. Bleday is basically the type of player you would get in return for someone like Perkins. The trade market looks to be rather bleak this off season for bats in the OF.
  23. He is also a Freshman. How many Freshman QB's are ready to play year one? Most are red shirted and then start the next year or the following year. Even Arch Manning one of the highly rated recruits at QB was red shirted. It is not typical for a true Freshman to start at QB unless well you are a once in a generation talent.
  24. Defense looks to be a bright spot next year. Still need to see more from Smith especially throwing the ball and the OL still needs work.
