  1. I have watched Bellinger a lot this year. He has no power at all he is swinging a pool noodle when he comes up to the plate. If he doesn't improve his power numbers he is going to have even less value. If the Brewers offered Hiura and Mitchell for Bellinger the Dodgers would take that deal and laugh at you for even giving up Mitchell for Bellinger let a lone giving them Hiura. While Hiura is bad his issue has been striking out and not putting the ball in play. Bellinger's issue as I pointed out is 100% he has no power in his bat this season is that fixable or has his injuries sapped him of all of his power? If Bellinger going forward is what he is then he has absolutely no value at all and if he doesn't show any improvement with the power between this year and the end of next year he basically looks a lot like Benintendi and that is the value that I would put on Bellinger right now.
  2. I don’t know what Coach Cooper you’re referring to, but scoreboard watching is fun and harmless for fans. With access to all games on something like mlb tv, it’s fun to pay attention to games other than Brewer games either because they affect the Brewers standing or players on our fantasy teams. [sarcasm]Coach Cooper is like Chuck Norris if Chuck does a 360 spinning leg kick he would reverse the rotation of the Earth, which is why Chuck Norris is not allowed to do a 360 spinning leg kick it is a fact look it up the internet said so.[/sarcasm]
  3. Small has to be added to the 40-man I believe. Also both Ashby and Small are on innings and pitch limits. I am not sure they will be available once September comes. Maybe Ashby but I don't think Small will be.
  4. With some accents I could totally get how someone could mistake that for the other word. Also sometimes our minds put words in our head especially from a distance where you can't fully make out what someone is saying so your brain interprets what you think they are saying. There is a whole scientific study about how some people hear one word while someone else hears another. Plus English is a difficult dialect and accents makes it even worse.
  5. The draft really needs to change from a bonus structure to a salary structure. This will hurt small market teams the most but it will help the players out more in the long run especially since none of the teams are willing to improve the minors at all.
  6. Assuming the Brewers play .500 or better for the remainder of the season Counsell should be able to pass Garner sometime in June of next year. Counsell also just needs to win 1 game in the post season and he will have the most wins in the post season as a manager for the Brewers.
  7. The drafts are technically illegal. The only reason they are seen as legal meaning no legal repercussions have been put on a league or team is because the labor unions are ok with this. I don't see the MLBPA changing anything about this.
  8. If I counted right the Brewers are 55-9 this season when scoring four or more. I think that is the magic number where your probability of win goes past 60%. It has been awhile since I have looked at that information but 4 runs is where I think it surpasses the break even point. Might actually be 4.3 runs per game or something like that but that would be the average over a whole season.
  9. Pitchers are only asked to go about 5-6 innings now. There are very few pitchers that go 7-innings on average and are also being conditioned to not go beyond 100 pitches no matter what part of the year it is. This is just how the game is played and coached now (minors and majors).
  10. Houser was gassed. He could barely find the plate in the 6th and wasn't finding all that much in the beginning of the 7th.
  11. I think he takes the minutes that Forbes had last season. I wouldn't mind the Oladipo signing but what are we getting from him? I am not sure what to expect from him. I guess Hill kind of had the same question marks when the Bucks originally got him. I don't think he will be as good as Hill was maybe he will be as good or better than Teague?
  12. The Reds also don't have an off day until 8/23 after yesterday's off day and then their next off day is on 9/02. The Brewers have 3 scheduled off days left this month. That could be really bad for the Reds especially if they run into a COVID situation or a small injury. We saw how this hurt the Cubs in 2018 where they didn't have a day off in the month of September I believe it was along with a few double headers.
  13. I was looking up how many times the Brewers had a run differential of 100+ and surprisingly or not surprisingly there has only been three seasons. If you can guess the 3-season without looking them up bonus points to you. Edit: there are actually 4-seasons I forgot to look back one more year.
  14. Story won't be the top FA SS next off season but he is definitely better than Baez and Crawford looked done in 2019 and had a bounce back year in a shortened 2020 and now looks like his younger self in 2021 but he will be going on his age 35 season next year. I think Story will get a longer contract and more looks than Crawford will next off season. Whoever signs Baez to a long term contract will be regretting it after the first year at least offensively they will be. Baez just doesn't have any plate discipline at all and as he gets older that is going to kill his value. Story even though he has a bad numbers away from Coors there are still places he could go where that is not going to matter. For example he could go to the Yankees or the Reds and both of those stadiums are going to play similarly to Coors. With Yankee stadium having that short porch in RF any player with some opposite field power is going to love that ball park. I believe there has been recent evidence that the Reds ballpark is far more hitter friendly than even Coors is. If Story goes to the Reds his away splits from Coors will not matter at that ballpark. I think Story will have more interest than Baez and Crawford in free agency. The top free agents at SS are Seager and Correa who are 1a and 1b with a large gap between Semien and Story. I would put Crawford and Baez at the bottom and I don't see Crawford leaving the Giants. The Giants will more than likely resign Crawford. The teams that I believe will have interest in Story in the off season will be the Braves, Yankees, Reds and Cardinals. Seager and Correa will probably be playing for different teams next year but it won't be with the teams that I listed previously who will be in on Story.

    The Olympics

As much grief the mens basketball team has gotten over them losing games the women's soccer team is far more disappointing. They barely made it to a medal and I wouldn't be surprised if they lose and place 4th.
  16. He may not get more than the AAV of the QO but I don't see him signing that QO. He is going to reject it and if he has to he will sign a 1-year deal with a player option with someone. I wouldn't be surprised if that team is the Yankees or the Angels. I don't see Story resigning with the Rockies that ship has sailed and has sunk far off the coast somewhere.
