  1. Again with this there is no consensus on Wicks being the Brewers pick. If you even read what the mock draft pickers are putting in their comments as to why they think the Brewers are taking Wicks you will see it is just a blind guess. They are only picking Wicks because he is similar to a player the Brewers have picked in the past. The only mock draft pick that has even mentioned a player connected to the Brewers was the Ford one.
  2. I disagree on Wicks. His changeup is a really good pitch and if he can develop a third pitch with the Brewers he can be a #2 or #3 type pitcher. Changeups are one of the better pitches a pitcher can throw as it adds velocity to a pitchers fastball. A really good changeup can add about 5 MPH to their fastball which allows the pitcher to get away with pitches that are normally crushed due to a weak fastball in terms of velocity. Let me expand on this. Wicks if he can develop a third pitch his ceiling is that of Cole Hamels. So if you believe he can develop a third pitch he is very much comparable to someone like Hamels who topped out at 94MPH with his fastball. It all depends on if you think Wicks can develop a third pitch or not. If he can't or it is only an average pitch then yes his ceiling would then be that of Small.
  3. Cubs fans would get over it rather quickly if the player(s) they are getting in return become good everyday players for them. Majority of the Cubs fans will probably even forget about the player that was traded as they jump for joy over their shiny new toy(s).
  4. I think Turang and Small would be more than enough. Mitchell is definitely untouchable along with Ashby. I think the Brewers would be willing to part with Turang and Small in a Bryant trade. Rizzo will probably come cheaper as he is having a bad year and I don't believe he would be a significant upgrade at 1B over what the Brewers have now. The most I would offer the Cubs for Rizzo would be Lutz and Brown. I don't think the Cubs will get good offers for Rizzo.
  5. Huh? You can't get onto regular YouTube? You don't need YouTube TV to watch this one.
  6. Yeah he would be the better option scoring wise over Connaughton, Forbes or Teague. Donte would have been nice to have in the Finals especially with Middleton and Jrue shooting horribly.
  7. I was just about to post the athletic piece. I think Wicks is out though he could be the pick if Ford is not there. It seems as though the Brewers have been scouting him heavily. I don't believe Ford will be a catcher and will instead either end up at 1B or 3B. So for all the people who are looking for that corner infielder this would be your guy.
  8. This umpire needs to be demoted back down to the minors instantly after this game. There is no excuse for allowing him to be a MLB umpire.
  9. The Diamondbacks one looks really good kind of reminds me of some of the 1920 era uniforms.
  10. Medeiros & Jungmann were both picked prior to Stearns & company arriving, not sure how relevant that really is at this point, even if the mockers did get them right. Ray was the #5 pick, which is a lot easier to mock than the #15 pick. None of MLB, FanGraphs, MyMLBDraft, DraftUtopia, CallToThePen, MinorLeagueMadhouse, BleacherReport (those were just the first page of search results for "2017 MLB Mock Draft") had us mocked for Keston at #9 in 2017. Don't recall much linking us to any of Turang, Small or Mitchell prior to the last three drafts. I did a search on all of the mock draft sites and Ray is the only one of the 3 he names he got right. Medeiros was only mentioned by perfect game and that is it. Jungmann was only picked by one of the major publications everyone else had the Brewers taking someone else. So yeah Jungmann was mocked to the Brewers by one so partially false there that is the best I can do with that one. Turang, Small and Mitchell were not mocked at all to the Brewers.
  11. The only one you got right was Ray and that is because the Brewers liked him better than Lewis who they were also projected to pick along with another player or two. Medeiros was never mocked to the Brewers by anyone if you have proof then post it otherwise you are just making things up. In 2011 there was one major publication that had Jungmann all the others either had Javier Baez or Francisco Lindor as the Brewers first pick in that draft. There was only one mention of Medeiros and that was from perfect game where they mentioned him and his visit to Milwaukee during his workout that they were impressed with. So one publication mentioned Medeiros but not a single one picked him as a Brewers pick in their mocks.
  12. Small won't be pushing anyone to the bullpen this season. If he pushes anyone to the bullpen it would be Lauer. Houser is fine as the 4th/5th starter as he is basically your prototypical 4th/5th starter. Until the Brewers don't need a 4th/5th starter Houser can stay in the rotation once late September and the playoffs come around then Houser can be moved to the bullpen. Small will more than likely be in the bullpen like Burnes and Woodruff were when they came up in 2018. If Small is making a start it is because someone is injured or the Brewers need a 6th starter and Lauer pitched recently.
  13. It slows the game down so much especially when a pitcher throws over 4 or 5 times before even throwing a pitch. One or two times fine but after that just throw a dang pitch already.
  14. because a couple mocks have him at 15?. Its fun to guess, but 90% certainty is a prediction, not a guess. For some reason the mocks have been pretty accurate when it comes to who the Brewers were looking at especially when they have had relatively high picks. I think Hiura was mocked to the Brewers quite a bit and Medeiros is another that was universally pegged as our pick even though he was rated much lower. If Wicks is the guy hopefully he pans out but I prefer a higher ceiling talent. No they have not been you are making things up to confirm your own bias.
  15. Peralta signed an extension with the Brewers. Peralta doesn't really get expensive unless you count $5m as being expensive which would be in 2024. Both Woodruff and Burnes are going to be making about double to triple that in 2024.
  16. Can we get a foul called on the Suns? Seriously the amount of hacking they are doing and the refs are like play on unless it is a Suns player getting hacked. NBA ref screw job 2.0
  17. Would have been nice not to lose Donte I just can't watch anymore of Connaughton. Could someone please kidnap him so we don't have to see him commit another dumb foul or him jumping and running around like a chicken with its head cut off?
  18. I guess reach in fouls are not a thing for the Suns?

  20. Just saying that this will be the 2nd best team that the Bucks will have faced in the playoffs. The Hawks were good but they are a tier or two below the Suns. The best team in the NBA the Bucks took to 7 games though they were missing 1/3 and at times 2/3 of their best players. I don't think that series goes 7 with both Kyrie and Harden healthy. With both Kyrie and Harden healthy the Nets would have swept the Hawks and win the Finals in 5 games. I think for the Bucks to have a chance they need to win it in 6-games and they need to steal a game in Phoenix preferably one of games 1 or 2. If the Bucks can come back to Milwaukee and be tied that is the best outcome that they could hope for as I think Giannis maybe ready to go by game 3 or game 4. If they can steal 1 game in Phoenix and then steal game 3 at home without Giannis and then have him come back in game 4 and win that sets them up perfectly to win in 6-games. If they drop the first two games it becomes increasingly harder to win but it is do able though they will probably have to take it to 7-games and that is then a coin flip. A 7-game series would be awesome and would be very entertaining. The series against the Nets was very entertaining even if it was rather frustrating to watch at times.
  21. This is basically it. Wicks is very similar to Small and going by recent picks by the Brewers will have you putting him on your mock board. The Brewers are very tight lip on who they are going to be drafting it is one of the things Stearns kept when Melvin was in charge. It is very hard to tell what the Brewers are going to do I don't believe there has been a mock yet that has accurately picked who the Brewers are or were interested in. Actually after the first three picks it is really hard to pinpoint who is going to go where and the further down the list you go it gets even harder. Basically these mocks are just guesses on who will be available and who the teams have picked in the past. I think Wicks is a solid guess due to the Small connection but I could see the Brewers going in a completely different direction. I don't think they will go with a HS pitcher as that is a very risky pick where they are picking and that just doesn't sound like something Stearns and company would do.
  22. Other than the Nets this is probably the best team the Bucks will have played this entire playoffs.
  23. Eric Thames and Chris Carter would like to say hello.
