  1. If Feliciano wouldn't have been hurt this year I would say no chance of Pina coming back. Since Feliciano has been hurt this year I think it takes him another year and the Brewers bring Pina back. Though I think Pina could get a multi-year offer from someone to be a backup that would be about the same amount or more.
  2. I don't think Ernesto would get pick in the MLB portion of the Rule 5 Draft and I don't think he would be picked in the minor league portion either. Unless a team is in love with him and wants him as an organizational roster filler type then sure. I think Brown or Barker are probably the closest things to being locks for being picked in the Rule 5 Draft on the MLB portion. A team rebuilding could see Brown or Barker as guys to put in the back of the bullpen or as 5th or 6th starters. Also anyone on the 38-player Triple-A roster are ineligible for the minor league portion of the Rule 5 Draft. This article explains the Rule 5 Draft rather well: https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/explaining-the-rule-5-draft/
  3. Just because the games get bigger doesn't mean they are better. None of the games against the Hawks were all that good or even memorable. Other than game 6 in the Finals that was the only game that was memorable. Game 7 against the Nets just was a better game and far more memorable.
  4. The Athletic has the Brewers as the #1 favorite for the World Series. https://theathletic.com/2776311/2021/08/19/mlb-playoff-tiers-our-world-series-favorites-are-not-who-you-think-they-are?source=user-shared-article
  5. The Narvaez one he didn't even frame it as Yadi had to reach back out to actually catch it. That one was on the umpire.
  6. In a pure basketball game sense game 7 versus the Nets was just a better game overall. That game 7 if it was played in the ECF or in the Finals would get more publicity. The game itself though is one of the top 10 games in the last 10 years in any sport. Game 7 had everything you could ever want or hope for in a game. It was that special really any sports fan could watch that game and appreciate it not just Nets or Bucks fans. This is why it was just a better game than any other game. I am not sure what doesn't value a championship enough has to do with which game was better overall [sarcasm]but then again if you wear a different teams hat you are not really a true fan.[/sarcasm]
  7. The MLBPA will also need to approve this but I don't see why they wouldn't. $100m minimum salary cap with the tax starting at $180 seems fine to me and actually rather aggressive by MLB but you never know with MLBPA what they will do. I could definitely see the MLBPA wanting a higher ceiling on the tax and also wanting to know what happens to teams that don't meet the minimum salary. The penalties for not meeting the minimum are unknown at this time. Should make for an interesting off season if the minimum is implemented but unknown also on when that minimum would start.
  8. MLB proposing a minimum $100m team salary. https://theathletic.com/2777830/2021/08/18/sources-mlb-proposes-salary-minimum-funded-by-new-tax-on-teams-spending-180-million?source=user-shared-article
  9. That series was the best of the whole playoffs so that is understandable. It was also one of the better playoff series in a long time. That game 7 is one of the better playoff games in any sport for a long time. It was an instant classic.
  10. I think the NL East is still a 3-team race but it is looking really bad for the Mets right now. In the end I think it will be the Braves but I don't believe they will have that big of a cushion. I think that division goes all the way to the last couple of days before it is decided. Schedule looks to be about even for the Braves and Phillies in September.
  11. The Mets still have a bad offense even after firing their hitting coach. The Brewers look to be normalizing a bit thanks to the addition of Adames. I still don't believe firing a hitting coach does anything other than the hitting coach being fired. The results more than likely will be the same before and after the firing. Please see the Mets as to why firing the hitting coach doesn't really matter.
  12. I completely forgot they did that. How many times do you have to fire a hitting coach to get the team to hit is now the question.
  13. [sarcasm]I wish the Brewers had an owner like this:[/sarcasm]
  14. [sarcasm]Reports coming in that Rodgers wants Tebow as the backup QB and #2 WR.[/sarcasm]
  15. It is irrelevant what the Reds or Cardinals think. They may think the upcoming series is their chance to "get back in it" but if they don't win the series they are toast. 10 gams is a lot of ground to make up with only 40+ games left to go. If the Brewers leave St. Louis with a 11 game lead that is huge and if they leave with a 9 game it is a little bit better but really all the Brewers have to do is play .500 ball and the Cardinals can't catch them. The September schedule for the Cardinals is brutal. They play all but 4-games against playoff contenders. If the Brewers lead isn't within 5-games by the end of August St. Louis is pretty much done. That is a brutal schedule for them in September they play the Dodgers 4 times, the Padres 3 times, the Mets 3 times, the Reds 4 times and the Brewers 10 times. The only easy matchup is against the Cubs which they play 4 times. The stretch from September 1st to the 23rd is absolutely brutal as every team the Cardinals play in that stretch are playoff contenders and all of them are going to be playing for something. The Dodgers and Padres will be playing for wild card spots, the Mets will be playing for the NL East and the Reds will be playing for a wild card spot. These are all playoff teams that the Cardinals will have to get through starting on August 30th with the Reds. The Cardinals may think this is their time to get back in it but they have a hard road ahead to get back in it. The Brewers will also be facing the Cubs in Milwaukee when the Cardinals will be playing the Padres. I think the Cardinals will be done and out by 9/20. The Reds have a more realistic chance to catch the Brewers than the Cardinals do as they have an easier schedule in September but only have 3-games left against the Brewers.
  16. Badgers ranked 12th. Other BIG Ten teams ranked: Ohio State (4) Indiana (17) Iowa (18) Penn State (19) https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/ap-top-25-poll-alabama-oklahoma-lead-first-college-football-rankings-of-2021-season/
  17. I don't believe Kawhi would even play with Bledsoe. He had problems with Beverly as the PG so I am assuming he would also have an issue with Bledsoe. George probably loses the most here as Bledsoe doesn't really help him at all either. Seems like the Clippers are just a poorly ran organization from top to bottom.
  18. Coan has been named Notre Dame's starting QB. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/32021726/jack-coan-named-notre-dame-starting-quarterback-florida-state
  19. That picture of Ashby makes him look like Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys.
  20. Looks like we are getting I have no idea where my pitches are going Peralta today.
