  1. Apparently it is not yet complete and could be a three team trade with the Mets?
  2. LOL, it would be funny to have the count explain blockchains and the cookie monster to explain internet cookies.
  3. I am very interested in blockchain as it apparently has commercial use even if digital currencies don't catch on as actual currencies. I just can't wrap my head around how to explain what it is or does or how it might be useful just yet. Check these two links out this should explain blockchain about as simply as you can. https://www2.deloitte.com/ch/en/pages/strategy-operations/articles/blockchain-explained.html
  4. This is kind of the way baseball is going right now. I wouldn't be against going down to a 7-inning format. Right now teams and pitchers barely make it out of the 5th inning as it is I think the average starters only go about 6 innings and there are only a few who average more than 6 innings compare that to 10 years ago and if you are only going 6 innings you are probably a #4 or #5 starter or more than likely going to the bullpen or staying in the minors for forever. I actually liked the 7-inning double header games last year and found them more fun and refreshing. The game didn't drag on as long as normal and it felt quicker and I think there is more strategy involved in a 7-inning format than in a 9-inning format with the way the game is heading for pitchers. I think you could even tie the DH to the starter and then shorten the game to 7-innings. Once the starter leaves the game the DH goes away unless it is by an injury then the DH gets 2 PA's before they are removed from the game. This would bring in some more strategy to the game where a manager will have to pick and choose when they take a starter out. If they are down a run and the DH is coming up the next inning do they stay with the starter or do they make the change? This would also increase the value of starting pitchers especially ones that can go more than 5-innings. Players like Kershaw, Scherzer and others now become more valuable as they will keep your DH in the game longer. Also going to a 7-inning format should shave off about an hour on the total time for a game so you are looking at about 2-hours for a 7-inning game compared to about 3-hours for a 9-inning game. You could add in another 10-20 minutes for commercials and other breaks and still be well below the average game time now. I believe things like this will need to be changed in order to keep the sport viable with younger audiences otherwise baseball is going to die.
  5. Umm lol no. Green Bay's defense isn't even half as good as Tampa Bay's is. The Packers wouldn't have been able to take away Hill like Tampa has. Tampa has actually taken out all of the Chiefs WR's Green Bay couldn't have done that. Also Tampa's pass rush is far better than Green Bay's. It is a completely different game if it is Packers vs Chiefs.
  6. Over synthesized garbage. 100 yard penalty for ruining music please make it stop.
  7. [sarcasm]This list should really be who played 1B after the greatest 1B in Brewers history Yuniesky Betancourt in 2013![/sarcasm]
  8. I think the pitchers are going to be the ones making more debuts this year. With a shortened season last year and no minor league games and if the Brewers don't sign a veteran pitcher to put into the rotation there will be a lot of innings in the bullpen and in the rotation that will need to be covered by Small, Brown, Bettinger and others. We will probably see a merry go round of pitchers going on the IL for a week and then coming back and I fully expect Woodruff and Burnes to be put on innings and pitch count limits early on in the year. There is going to be plenty of opportunities for some of the younger Brewers pitchers to come up and pitch some meaningful innings for the Brewers to cover these innings. Though some of these pitchers are also going to be on inning and pitch counts also due to there being no minor league season last year.
  9. Didn't see this posted any where but Yadier Molina has been working with Mario Feliciano. https://www.mlb.com/brewers/news/mario-feliciano-training-with-yadier-molina?t=brewers-pipeline-coverage
  10. 1. Hedbert Perez 2. Brice Turang 3. Garrett Mitchell 4. Mario Feliciano 5. Ethan Small 6. Tristen Lutz 7. Aaron Ashby 8. Antoine Kelly 9. Freddy Zamora 10.Luis Medina 11. Carlos Rodriguez 12. Joe Gray 13. Jesus Parra 14. Eduardo Garcia 15. Micah Bello 16. Pablo Abreu 17. Max Lazar 18. Corey Ray 19. Dylan File 20. Thomas Dillard 21. Zavier Warren 22. Nick Kahle 23. Jeferson Quero 24. Payton Henry 25. Zack Brown
  11. The only thing I miss about Chicago are the beef sandwiches and the deep dish pizzas. Gets me all Homer Simpson like when thinking of a Chicago Beef Sandwich.
  12. Cain doesn't fit at all. Cain played with the Brewers in 2010 for 43 games. Brantley was kind of a throw in player in the Sabathia trade it was up between Brantley, Lucroy and Green I believe as the last piece in the trade for Sabathia. Parra had a really good year in 2008 but completely fell apart after the all star break I kind of attribute that to Yost in how he handled him in the first half of the year keeping him in to long when he was struggling and throwing too many pitches. Hendrickson just fell apart in the minors I believe he was a head case. Jackson I thought was going to be a left handed version of Dave Bush and he just never panned out and we all know about Rogers and his injury issues. Eveland and Inman just weren't all that good to begin with though one of them probably should have made it as a reliever. I believe Eveland stayed in the majors for awhile but just wasn't really all that good.
  13. Ahhh the Hurricane and Gindl. I thought Gindl could have been a Mat Stairs clone if he were ever given the chance.
  14. Whenever I see or hear skyline chili I think of the Ron White skit.
  15. This is nothing new with the opt outs. The opt outs are usually 3 or 4-years after they have signed not after the first year normally. When Sabathia signed with the Yankees he had an opt out in his contract and I believe Alex Rodriguez also had one.
  16. So rumor is that the contract with the Dodgers is less than what the Mets offered him.
  17. If it is just a 1 or 2-year deal sure the Dodgers could find the money. Also depending on if this is a short term contract which I think it is for Bauer they maybe able to afford it. The money for this year is not the issue it is next year for the Dodgers where they have to resign Seager or replace him with someone and then they have Bellinger after that and then Buehler after that. So if Turner is willing to go on a 1 or 2-year deal the Dodgers will sign him but if he wants that 3rd year I don't see the Dodgers offering that. They may not even offer him a 2-year deal at least not a full 2-year deal it would be a 1-year deal with a team option for the 2nd year. This all depends on how many years Bauer is getting and how much he is getting.
  18. I am not sure the Red Sox would do this but.... Brewers get: Devers and Seabold Red Sox get: Hiura and Houser The Red Sox are pitching starved right now and Houser would fill in as a good #4 or #5 starter for them. Hiura fits in nicely at Fenway and could be an excellent DH for them. For the Brewers it solves the 3B issue and brings in another young control pitcher that the Brewers seem to like. Seabold could replace Houser in the rotation as he finished the 2019 season in AA. Next trade: Brewers get: Pavin Smith (1B) Dbacks get: Small (LHP) This gives the Brewers a young 1B in Smith who is currently blocked by Walker and potentially be passed up by Beer. Probably all long shot trades but I am bored so why not.
  19. If you remove Seager from Seattle and he is playing half his games in Milwaukee he is going to hit for a lot more power and possibly increase his average a bit. I think he could get close to a 3 WAR in 2021 playing in Milwaukee compared to playing in Seattle but even with that the Mariners would have to throw in about $10m to get someone like Ward/Andrews/File/Bettinger/Ernesto. Would it really be worth it for the Mariners to do that trade? If the Mariners are about dumping his salary then I think this makes sense for the Mariners to do. Add about $10m in cash to the trade and pick up a wildcard and hope for the best.
  20. Sounds about right for any government agency. If it hasn't happened then it doesn't exist and therefore no action can be taken.
  21. I'm just wondering how Chris Carpenter is going to explain this to his son?
  22. That is back to back 130+ point games against two playoff caliber teams in the Pacers(5) and Blazers(7). Showing some life with the offense now just need to get the defense to be a little more consistent and they will start to look like how they were before the pandemic hit.
  23. This is Wong's 2019 home spray chart if he played in Milwaukee instead of St. Louis. Chose 2019 because that is the last full 162 game season. 2019 Season 2018-2020 This is a very good signing and I believe Wong's OPS should improve over what he was doing in St. Louis. If we just look at his home game stats from his time in St. Louis he should see a power boost in terms of more HR's by playing more games in Milwaukee. He should also see more opposite field hits by playing in Milwaukee which should raise his average higher also.
  24. LOL I posted about Wong last night. [sarcasm]Is Stearns stalking me? Am I Stearns? Questions that have no answers.[/sarcasm]
  25. Maybe sign Kolten Wong for a year and move Hiura over to 1B? I am not sure if Wong has the arm to play 3B but maybe that is an out of the box type of an idea to look at for 3B. Preferably Wong at 2B would be a better idea as he is an excellent defensive player at 2B. Offensively he is about average the Brewers could also trade Hiura for help at 3B also and then sign Wong on a 1 or 2-year deal. He shouldn't cost all that much maybe about $5m a season at the most. Maybe even do something like Hiura, Turang and Small for Chapman. I am not sure that is something the A's would do but I think that is close to Chapman's value. Then all the Brewers would have to do is sign Moreland to play 1B and the team should be good to go offensively. Possibly make one more signing if the budget allows it and get someone like Aaron Sanchez or Taijuan Walker.
