  1. Colas has been declared a free agent by MLB and thus counts toward the international pool cap. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/12/oscar-colas-cuba-mlb-free-agent.html
  2. One of my favorite shows The Expanse is back on and I am loving this season so far!
  3. Well drat, my memory was bad. Looks like I'm getting 0.5% instead of 2-3%. But I don't have a ton of money there... I use it as my liquid savings account instead of the 0.001% you get from a bank, so I suppose I'm doing better anyway. Affirm looks like they have the best rate at 0.65% https://www.affirm.com/savings The next best I could find is axos bank at 0.61% and then Marcus and AMEX at 0.50% https://www.axosbank.com/high-yield-savings-account?utm_campaign=01652_hysav_consumerdeposits_axos_rakuten_hys_baseline&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_source=rakuten&utm_content=49&utm_term=LinkOffers&siteID=x_S254V_QB8-kOov5yIVnkHH.oxTqexNMw&ranMID=44016&ranEAID=x%2FS254V%2FQB8&ranSiteID=x_S254V_QB8-kOov5yIVnkHH.oxTqexNMw https://www.marcus.com/us/en/savings/osa-mobile?prd=os&chl=ag&schl=agb&cid=6283453br20461840941608690540lid;dc_lat=;dc_rdid=;tag_for_child_directed_treatment=;tfua=placement=262777576&dclid=CjgKEAiAz4b_BRC_4vOJrPX5qAoSJAABll_UwaL6jsQiidtY5acp8UXyUNp8EZgLwOQnh09eHhEykvD_BwE https://www.americanexpress.com/en-us/banking/online-savings/high-yield-savings/?irgwc=1&extlink=ps2020%3Daffiliate These rates can change and they are not fixed rates FYI.
  4. I believe the Nippon league rates out to be equal to MLB. A 21 year old who goes .302/.350/.516 would be considered extremely good and you would be looking at a top 50 player in OPS in MLB. OBP alone would put him in the top 25 in all of MLB his numbers would be about the same going from the Nippon League to MLB. I wouldn't put him in the minors and if you do you are looking at a 25-50 ranked prospect so a lot more than 500k-1.5mil. You are probably looking at least $3-5mil for him. Japan is about equal to AAA ball. In no way does OPS and OBP in Japanese lgs. equate to MLB. Pitchers are much better and throw much harder in MLB. Thames said the biggest change coming from Japan was how hard guys threw, both fastballs and breaking balls. Thames played in Korea not in Japan and all of the statistical studies show that the Nippon league is really close to MLB maybe not an exact match but it is a step above AAA. I guess you could call it AAAA but it is really close to MLB.

  6. I expect him to sign with the White Sox but I wouldn't count out the A's here either.
  7. There are other savings options out there that pay better they are just not insured like a bank's. Credit unions tend to have better rates. I have a savings account with Affirm and I have an APY of .65 it was 1.0 for about 10 months this year. There are others that are giving out good APY just have to find them. The only drawback is it takes up to 2-3 days to withdraw sometimes.
  8. I love McRib's! Please send smoked ribs now!
  9. I don't think a deal gets done unless you include Turang.
  10. I know this happens all of the time. Have other teams been punished? What about all of those recruitment texts Giannis supposedly received and shared with ownership? Depends on which market they are in. If it is NY, Chicago, LA or Miami then no. If it is a small market team then yes. Actually the NBA is completely inconsistent on this rule and they barely if ever enforce it as the Clippers have been under investigation for Kawhi and well nothing happened on that one.
  11. Due to "tampering" Bucks will lose their 2nd round pick in 2022. https://www.brewhoop.com/2020/12/21/22193505/report-milwaukee-bucks-lose-2022-2nd-round-pick-due-to-tampering
  12. Maybe a Ray, Lazar and Turang deal gets this done. Might be a slight overpay for Gallo.
  13. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/breaking-jack-coan-enters-transfer-portal/ I hope he finds a good team to transfer to. I still think he has the possibility to be a backup or 3rd string QB in the NFL.
  14. Rose Bowl to be played in Dallas. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-playoff-relocates-rose-bowl-semifinal-to-dallas-amid-covid-19-concerns-attendance-policy/
  15. That last episode was awesome and basically the Mandalorian is what the last three movies should have been. I hope they completely delete the last three movies and remove them from canon because the Mandalorian has a much more interesting story line and with the Ahsoka and Kenobi show coming soon those will also probably bypass the story telling that the last three movies have done. It shows what can be done with Star Wars when there are competent writers and directors and their is also a single vision on how the story is going to unfold.
  16. This year I have only bought 1 stock and that was AIEQ back in January at about $29 a share and it selling right now at about $36 a share and I still have WU which I bought a few years ago at $19 a share and is trading at $23 a share. I did sell my AMD position this year which I held for about 5-years bought at $3 a share and sold at $94 a share which was nice except for the tax bill at the end of this year. I hate taxes and I have already rolled over all of my other long-term losses so no help on that for this upcoming tax year. I am thinking in investing in OTGLY, yes I know they had a horrible release for their most recent game but I think the sales numbers even with returns are still going to beat projections and the stock should rise.
  17. I know I know another OF but James Wood's scouting report sounds a lot like what the Brewers have been drafting lately. Jordan Wicks is another who I think will be at the top of the Brewers draft board. Maybe the Brewers will get lucky again and have someone drop to them again. I doubt Alex Binelas will drop but that would be the best case scenario if he does.
  18. Spring training may not start on time. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mlb-owners-reportedly-want-to-delay-start-of-2021-season-as-uncertainty-looms-before-mlbpa-negotiations/ Season may also be shortened to 140 games.
  19. I don't believe Harden would improve the team more like destroy it. Harden doesn't know what passing is.
  20. Doubt the Phillies would trade someone like Hoskins + prospects for Hader and I wouldn't do it unless the prospects were really good. You are probably correct if the Phillies weren't hiring a new baseball head but Dombrowski has made such moves in the past. Dombrowski won't be the GM just the baseball ops guy which is a completely different role. The Phillies current GM will still be the one making trades not Dombrowski.

  22. There are other things that go into a contract like a team flying his family to X amount of games, hotel accommodations for family, the use of sweets for family, trade restrictions, etc... Permission to hit up the dessert bar? Contracts really do get into the petty details. Stupid auto correct on phone but I do remember some rock stars in order for them to play at summerfest had some weird candy requirements like only green m&m's.
