  1. Prospect wise? Nothing that would be worth trading Gomez to the Tigers for. The best bet would be to see if the Tigers would do a Price for Gomez swap so they can resign Scherzer and possibly a closer in FA. Other than the Gomez for someone that is already on the Tigers roster now there isn't much left in the Tigers farm system to target. The Tigers farm system is actually more barren than the Brewers and the Angels system. The only thing that kept the Tigers above the Brewers and the Angels at the beginning of this season was Castellanos and now that he is in the majors for good the Tigers now have the worst farm system in all of baseball and it is by a wide margin. No one comes close to the Tigers in terms of a bad farm system.
  2. I have been waiting for this for a long time also. I hope more companies go this route as I would rather pay a subscription to get MLB Network, HBO, AMC, ESPN, NFL, NHL, and the local TV channels than pay for 400 other channels that I do not use or watch anything on.
  3. Except Yost was and still is one of the worst bullpen managers in the game. This is where Yost faltered and even faltered this year. Though if you can give a manager a lights out bullpen the mistakes they make with it will be limited and will be negligible through a full season. I would put Yost behind Macha. If Macha wouldn't have alienated the team with his personality he would have been a better manager. Macha was much better with the bullpen than Yost was but granted Yost never really had a great bullpen when he was in Milwaukee.
  4. C - Lucroy (3.0) C - Maldonado (1.0) 1B - Clark (0.5) 2B - Scooter (0.5) SS - Segura (0.5) 3B - Freese (4.5) LF - Davis (0.5) CF - Bourn (13.5) RF - Braun (14.5) INF - Olt (0.5) INF - Gomez (0.5) OF - Schafer (0.5) OF - Rios (2.5) SP - Price (22.5), Garza (12.5), Lohse (11.0), Fiers (0.5), Peralta (0.5) RP - Goforth (0.5), Jeffress (0.5), Smith (0.5), Thornburg (0.5), Henderson (0.5), Nelson (0.5), Kintzler (1.0) Gomez to the Tigers for Price (this allows the Tigers to resign Scherzer and get a FA Closer). Broxton, Magnifico, and Bradley to the Indians for Bourn (this saves the Indians about 4.5 in 2015 and allows them to dump Bourns contract) and Jesus Aguilar (1B). Gallardo to the Angels for Freese and Alex Yarbrough (2B). Jungmann to the Cubs for Olt. Total cost is $93m. This then allows for some trades if the bullpen falters or to get a better 1B if Olt and Clark are inefficient.
  5. Did the Rockies really try to do this? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v671/natewwii/Cool/Rockies.jpg
  6. Unfortunately I doubt you will be able to get newer movies on a subscription based service. This has more to do with the production companies and their strangle hold on when new movies can be streamed through a subscription based service. Don't expect new based movies at least popular ones to be on instant streaming for at least 1 year after the DVD/Blu Ray release. Along with the other devices listed there is also the Amazon Fire TV. This comes with a free 30 day Amazon Prime Membership. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CX5P8FC/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00CX5P8FC&linkCode=as2&tag=ch2014-20
  7. Regardless of how well the Brewers play next season I think it will be his last. I believe Melvin retires after next season. If MA wanted to keep DM longer he will extend him this off season but I believe Counsell is the next Brewers GM. I think the things that have happened so far this year have taken a toll on Melvin. This may or may not be RR's last year it probably will be if the Brewers don't make the playoffs next year especially if the team is horrible next year. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sveum brought back as the manager though I think this would be a mistake because of the team quitting on him from the end of the 2012 season through the 2013 season.
  8. I am looking at purchasing some tickets to the UFC fight here in Phoenix but I have never been to a UFC fight before. I have watched on TV a lot and I was wondering where the best seats would be. Definitely can't do ringside but other than that where else would be a good spot to watch the fight?
  9. You can count out Durant and Lebron as FA additions. DeRozan is someone I could see the Bucks targeting but would he be worth a max contract or close to a max contract?
  10. It is unlikely the Reds or Braves will sign a player in FA. The Padres may but I doubt they will sign anyone that is given a QO and the same can be said for the Rays. So it comes down to the Mets and the Marlins and I don't believe either of those teams will make a play on a FA. I believe it is more likely that the Brewers will lose their 1st round pick than any of those teams picking up a player in FA who have a QO attached to them.
  11. I am very disappointed that it was not.
  12. I would rather have him as the farm director or in some kind of similar role. Maybe even as a special advisor for minor league development.
  13. Its not like this hasn't been done before. https://www.google.com/maps/place/U.S+Airways+Center/@33.4459,-112.071211,634m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x872b121f8913ad39:0x8093f61e7b03fd19 Chase Field and the US Airways Center are almost on top of each other. They are about 1,300 feet apart actually so it could work.
  14. He will if he want's a multi year deal. Not every player is going to want to sign for the biggest dollar amount. If that were true then why did Nelson Cruz turn down his QO last off season and why did Morales do the same? The answer is simple really they wanted multi year deal contract not just a one year contract where they would be in the same boat the following year. This is the reason why Aram will turn down the QO. There is also more risk for the player to just sign one year deals as they go because the next season they may not find anyone interested in them. Ramirez will sign for less per year for a longer termed contract.
  15. I believe the Brewers already know they want to exercise their option but I have a feeling Ramirez has no idea if he wants to accept his portion of the option. I believe Ramirez was quoted as saying he was going to speak with his agent at the end of the season and he would decide then. So it doesn't really matter what the Brewers do or don't do right now. In the end the Brewers will exercise their end of the option and Ramirez will reject his and become a FA. I fully expect the Brewers to offer Aramis a QO and for him to reject that QO. In order for Aramis to be the Brewers 3B next year the Brewers are going to have to give him a multi year extension between 2-3 years. I believe the Brewers are waiting for Ramirez to decide on what he wants does he want to do in terms of how long he wants to play and where he wants to play. I wouldn't be surprised to see Aramis in a different uniform next year because of the Brewers not wanting to give him more than 1 more year.
  16. For the reasons you state above is the reason why I believe Aramis will not be with the Brewers for one more year. Aramis is going to want a multi year deal so you are looking at Ramirez at 2-3 years at $12m a year minimum. I believe Aramis is going to turn down his portion of his option and become a free agent. He will also turn down a QO even though it is going to be more than what he will make in a free agency deal. I could see the White Sox giving Aramis a 2-3 year deal around $12m a year and him leaving the Brewers. This then leaves Hanley, Sandoval, and Headley as the next best remaining 3B and it is not known for sure if Hanley will move to 3B so you maybe limited to Sandoval and Headley at 3B. If Mark A is going to spend on a FA and he will then I would rather see them go after Sandoval than Headley. Book it the Brewers will offer Sandoval a contract of 5-6 years with an average salary around $18-22m a year. This just feels like a Mark A move and hopefully the Giants just extend Sandoval before the Brewers can make this deal happen.
  17. I highly doubt the Brewers will have a 1st round pick next year. I wouldn't be surprised if the Mark A went hard after Sandoval and the Brewers lose their 1st round pick with that signing. This is way to early to be talking about the draft right now a lot can happen between now and the draft unless you can predict who will under perform, who will impress some scouts, who will be injured, and if the Brewers will actually have a 1st round pick.
  18. I haven't been in Milwaukee for a long time now but when I left the Grand Avenue Mall was a ghost town. Wouldn't it be better to tear down that mall and just place the new arena there?
  19. I got free tickets to the diamondbacks game tonight from work. I have this sickening feeling that the Cardinals are going to win and win the division while I am there. I hate the Cardinals and everything St. Louis.
  20. This would probably be a better location: Happy Valley and the 17 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v671/natewwii/betterlocation.jpg Though I wouldn't mind your location as it would be really really really really close to where I live.
  21. It would be about a 10 min ride for me but where would they put it? The substation is right off of the 303 and el mirage and everything after that is all residential area. The closest gas station would be on Bell or on Happy Valley and Lake Pleasant. I am not sure this would work out all that well.
  22. That is a weird place to put a baseball facility it will be literally in the middle of no where. I live near that area.
  23. All Apple really did was change there iPod to the iPhone. Apple really hasn't innovated anything as of late. The iPod wasn't an innovation there were already a whole bunch of MP3 players before the iPod was even introduced. The same can be said about the iPad and even the new watch Apple is coming out with. All Apple has done is come in and made things better somewhat. This is really what the free market is about. Apple saw a deficiency and said hey we can do this better and guess what they did with the original iPod, iPhone, and iPad. I am not sure how they are going to change the smart watch or whatever you want to call that. The iPod was so good that it changed the name of MP3 player devices and killed the market. There are still MP3 players around now but they are not advertised all that much but that has more to do with the smart phone revolution with everything being in one device than in multiple devices. Like Windows OS I skip every other generation just look at Windows 8 and Vista they are almost identical in the problems they have encountered and what their critics have said. Plus Windows 8 being developed as mobile and table platform over a desktop or laptop was just a bad design decision by Microsoft. Windows 7 and XP both were far better than 8 and Vista. I wouldn't be surprised if Windows 9 just kills Windows 8 and is on par with 7 and XP. I will not be getting the new iPhone but will wait until the next generation comes out if there is even one that is.
  24. What I would do is first trade Fiers maybe there is a GM out there dumb enough to think he is a sub 3.00 ERA pitcher. Fiers is more along a 4.00-4.50 ERA pitcher but lets see first if a GM out there will be dumb enough to part with a decent prospect for a #5 type pitcher. Then I would trade either Gomez or Lucroy for a decent sized return. That should then set up the Brewers for a nice wave of prospects in the next 2-3 years. I would also try to trade either Lohse or Gallardo. I believe Gallardo will get the better prospect so we will be stuck with Lohse which isn't all that bad. Broxton would just be a salary dump type trade so not going to get much for him if anything. Ramirez is going to turn down his side of the option and I would then offer him a QO which he would quickly turn down. This will be tricky to see if the Brewers get a comp pick or not the past has been very unkind to aging veterans who have been offered a QO. I would then tell my manager if they batted Gennett and Segura higher than 7th and 8th in the lineup they would be fired.
  25. You might have other pests in your garage besides a snake. Might want to put down some mouse traps or just let the snake(s) eat them. Assuming this is a garden snake and not another kind of snake that we have around here in AZ.
